Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

Yes, if you are in US, you will get either Fremont or Austin Built MY depends on spec. Both facilites have fully transited to Hw4 MY. I heard some people bought existing inventory and got HW4. You could check as long as the Vin is after PF799 or PA140.

Waiting Room for MYLR/MYP : June 2023 orders

It should be fine because every MY made by Tesla Fremont is with HW4 now.

Waiting Room for MYLR/MYP : June 2023 orders

The VIN should be very close, Tesla is not saving some VINs for 7 seater. My MYLR 7 seater is manufactured 1-2 days ago with PF824.

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

Not yet, I imaged it won't be a very interesting video or post if there isn't a HD radar. Sooner or later someone will confirm the presence or not. Likelihood of having it in Hw4 Model Y is low, because the HD radar component seems to be in a low volume engineering sample manufacturing stage.

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

Yes, some people disassembled HW4 Model S and Model X front bumpers. There is HD radar in those vehicles. https://www.teslaoracle.com/2023/06/19/tesla-teardown-confirms-the-presence-of-the-new-radar-in-hw4-equipped-vehicles/

Yes, PF812xxx will be with HW4.

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

It depends on which factory the car is from. If Shanghai built, likely still hw3; if Fremont (after pf7984xx) or Austin built (after Pa15Xxx) likely hw4. For confirmation of build location, not sure probably check with SA or posts in the forum. At delivery, you can check the repeater cameras on...

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

Hard to tell for now until someone remove front bumper to confirm. The reason for guessing it is not in Hw4 ModelY is that they still have the Xilinx Zynq flexible SoC in the unit. It is a chip that engineer can tweak more easily with OTA, they usually switch it to a lower cost SoC after they...

Can you share the source? The radar in Hw4 Model S/X should be in use, otherwise Tesla will remove in later production.

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

I believe less people is posting PA1xxx here due to it is still a low probability of getting an Austin Built HW4 MY for now. However, I assume the transition for Austin would happen fairly fast, the best chance is to wait for a verified Austin built HW4 and the vin, if you know your spec and...

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

Yeah, not reliable unless you see people posting Austin-built HW4 MY here. However, it would not make sense to have two separate versions selling simultaneously in the market for long, it hurts demand for Austin-built MY, and Tesla is ramping up Austin Gigafactory as we speak. Most of the...

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

How about wait for the VIN and then decide? SA does not have more info than you do, they can only tell if it is Hw4 once they saw it. There are sources talking about PA124XXX (Austin built) and after having a high chance of getting Hw4, but it is unverified. Based on your description, it seems...

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

Thank you. It actually makes sense, given your location. Tesla would assign VIN after the vehicle is confirmed to ship to DC, so your vehicle has an earlier production date than a vehicle delivered to a location closer to CA even though the delivery date is around the same period. For potential...

Thanks for sharing. Can you share more info: Exterior / Interior Color Wheel type 19/20 Tow hitch Y/N And your location? Do you get bumped up in the queue because others rejected it? It helps others to debug their chance of getting HW3/4.

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

Just saw this confirmation of HD radar in Hw4 MS, I assume MX has the same setup. Based on the service manual shared by others on Twitter, one HD radar in front bumper; one interial radar (I believe it is for human detection). Not sure about MY yet.

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

From an unverified source, PF789XXX or later, which is from Fremont, should be on HW4. Austin and Berlin are in similar shoes. Every MY after a certain VIN should be on HW4. Shanghai will ramp up HW4 manufacturing later, which means MYs shipped from Shanghai to Canada might still have HW3 even...

I am curious if anyone confirms that there is an HD radar ("Pheonix") in the HW4 Model S/X. If so, can you refer me to the post / News? Thanks! So far, I have seen news about the Pheonix Radar engineering sample. Still, I have yet to see confirmation, for example, the actual device through front...
