Related question: local SC seems will only install authentic Tesla wheels and OEM replacement tires? Is that the general experience? Is an independent installer needed for aftermarket replacement wheels/tires? Seems odd. Thanks

Heading towards replacement of OEM 20” induction wheels and Michelins Sport on long range MY at about 29,000. Tread still marginal, but tired of looking at 4 wheels with curb rash. Any opinion on TSportline vs Martian 19” wheels, and Continental Extreme DWS06?

Since V11 update, the Cancel button doesnt seem to work, no matter how quickly I touch the Cancel icon. Homelink always opens the garage door. Help

Still a problem with latest FSD Beta v11.3.4, particularly on blacktop highways on warm sunny days when the “mirage” will cause a sudden braking……I’ve stopped using FSD on those roads. Otherwise, smoother and better onscreen graphics.

The only sure way to see the location while the car is on a carrier or flatbed (ie moving but not driving) is with Sentry Cam, if equipped. Of course that won’t tell you where the car is unless you see signs. I’ve shipped a MY cross country twice, and the car location is always fixed at the last...

curious, how do you turn the turn signal camera “off” or “on”? In our M3, its “on” for two driver profiles, but “off” for one. Cant find any on/off option. Thanks

I get crazy phantom braking when on a hilly road with overpass over a low point. As the car comes over the hill down towards the overpass, the radar ”sees” an obstruction and brakes hard. It happens reproducibly on a road I often travel, so I override at those points. Cameras plus AI should be...

Good question. My MY delivered 6/20 included FSD (when available) and presumably radar and the necessary hardware. Would guess (*total guess*) that these cars eventually have radar disabled and Tesla Vision activated….but then again…..

I thought its cameras PLUS neural network AI….not cameras alone.

No issues with iPhone X and app....another reason to hold off on the iPhone 12. If you havent seen it, and have an Apple watch, check out Watch for Tesla from the app store. Minimal cost and very convenient (and cool). Essentiall all app functions from the watch.

It seems that replacement of the Front Controller Gen 3 (shown in an above post) is the definitive fix. The SCs will order that ahead of a service appointment.

I’m pretty sure the updates get pushed to the watch. 1.06 updated and I didn’t do anything to fetch it.

Keyless driving (unlock and remote start using app on Apple Watch only) works great, as long as both car and watch have connectivity. Next update will offer feature to allow enable remote start at same time as unlock, from the Apple Watch app. I use this app all the time, on two Teslas (3 & Y).

Also had a few panels adjusted to spec. Also a repeat customer on the sales side (a M3, and a now departed S), but only one SC visit for this issue.

@SoundDaTrumpet - where's the SC you're using? The one I use in Mt Kisco, NY was all over this issue, though appointments are scheduled a bit out in the future, based on volume. Good luck.

The false Front Trunk warning is fixed by replacement of FRONT CONTROLLER GEN 3 (Part #: 1497317-00-F) and Front Trunk latch.\ The warnings had nothing to do with updates, in my experience. The fix at the SC has resolved the problem.

How do you turn the wipers “off” ??....the only choices are Auto, or 1, 2 or 3 speeds....

Been having the problem as well. Mobile service replaced the latch assembly which didn’t fix it. Update 2020.32.3 hasn’t changed the alerts, I have a SC appt later this week, where the Front Controller Gen 3 and Front Hinge will be replaced. We’ll see......

Been using the Watch for Tesla app for a few weeks now, with 3 cars on the account....app switches easily between the cars, and offers full functionality for controls...keyless driving, lock/unlock, charging controls and the rest are easy. The UI is clean and easy to customize as a complication...

Same issue, not remedied by latch replacement. Now awaiting replacement of VC Front Gen 3, Part #1497317-00F. The possible correlation I have found is with outside temperature...seems a lot more Front Trunk Warnings when its very hot outside, but who knows?

Pretty much the same experience, in a MCU2 upgrade in a 2015 S85D. NO settings were migrated, so it took 15 minutes to do that, but the Slacker and TuneIn favorites did migrate. Go figure. What did NOT migrate, and I didnt realize it until home, was the Tesla app functionality - it recognizes...

MCU2 is what they said. Yes nosecone version, pre-facelift. For @2500 it better be MCU2. (An intel upgrade for TegraAP1.0) is what’s been ordered. Not MCU2????

Just took delivery of a red MY, white interior, induction 20” wheels, and I spend a good 40 minutes examining it carefully, based on this and other threads of disappointing fit and finish. Mine was built 6/2020 (ordered 6/30. Delivered 7/19) and maybe I’m just lucky but there was one essentially...

My Y (ordered 6/30, for delivery 7/19 in NY) will be reduced $2000....you get the $3000 discount if you ask for it, but they charge the new ($8000) FDS option if you order that, so it nets $2000. If you didnt order the FSD, you'd get the full $3000. Better than zero.

FWIW, the supplied double tape holder fits snug and clean looking on our M3; I’ll use it on the Y when it comes. Hard to see on the avatar, but a MagnaPlate was used on the MS, but they’re no longer in biz. It worked, and secured the plate to the nose with suction cups, which were effective...

Pretty sure its a MCU1 issue....its been an “issue” for quite a while in our older Model S85D *2015) but not an issue in the Model 3 (late 2018).

Tons of SC on I 95. Watch out for the GA state police tho.
