Remember that my first was the 4500, the second for the 500 (for my first car which I got 3 1/2 years ago). Seemed a lot easier, probably because I had filled out more parts the first time. They also sent a notification about a week before payment. So, yes, it was easy for me.

I would try and work with them, wherever you bought it. Don't assume you are out, but find out if you can. They have been very workable with me, at least, when I called with questions about setting up a second charger for two EVs.

50 will take, IMHO, a while to occur. There have not been that many registered in Douglas County in the many years one could get an EV--I think is had been maybe 300 in all the years, so 50 new EVs registered may take a few months (I'm hoping, given mine is due to come in the next 2 to 5 months).
