    Repairing a Flooded Tesla Model S : HOW-TO

    Small Generator as backup

Battery running flat is a real problem for me since I've owned the tesla. The second car, an ice, just sits there. Guess what happens? Battery goes flat and it won't start. You get no warning. It just happens. At 6am. This is what telsa owners need to manage, and it's a real problem. :-P

Official QLD Registrations for Tesla Model S

Keep in mind that it takes them time (not much really) to build and ship the cars. I'd expect they'd start to come in from Feb 22nd, and not much earlier. Again, suspect this to repeat itself each quarter, as they focus on global deliveries and then on local US deliveries from late feb. just...

    Model X Design Studio (oz)

Last I checked tesla has launched here with a couple of service centres. It'd be nice if they did a few more. But that means a lot of the logistical aspects of delivering and supporting X is already solved. I think we'll see RHD available when it is available globally. Oh, they sell...

    Autopilot Install Questions

A lot of the learning process is the driver's too - knowing when to use it and anticipating how it will respond in certain situations. I must have done over 10,000kms auto driving now. Overall it performs really well - I can say that because I'm now trained by the system to know where it...

    Summon in Australia

I agree that improvement needs to be made; and I'll add that tesla has consistently delivered improvements to make many features pretty much perfect as they receive feedback.

    Summon in Australia

I think homelink is pretty pointless for summon in Australia. You have to be next to car, so you might as well open the door too.

    Summon in Australia

Yeah I think so. I've left it with default settings so far including keeping side clearance to standard. I'd also like auto park to do that too - offer a bias towards once side, perhaps interactive.

    Summon in Australia

This is one my daughter took for her kid channel. It's really awesome. Gone are the days where I get in, roll forward, get out, open boot, put stuff in, then head off. Instead I can summon it in and out. It parks a perfect 50cm from my rear wall (as requested), better than I can and enough...

Development of Australian autonomous car policy

Waiting might not be such a bad idea. The alternative is they'll make stupid policy based upon incorrect assumptions.

    Main Screen Blank/Black

Rebooting to fix these problems needs to go away. As you kinda said, rebooting may not be such a hassle but the perception problem is. It needs to become much more resilient. There is work in the automotive industry to improve the hardware and software architectures of these systems, but they...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Tesla model S sales appear to be doing well in Australia. I think we'll see how it looks as this quarter's deliveries start to come in over the next few weeks. As our dollar stays weak/weakens, a model S, X, actually only gets more attractive compared to other premium cars due to the fat every...

    Cruise control on wet roads

TACC on a tesla is different to any other vehicle, so I'm also curious how it would respond in aqua plane scenario.. If autosteer is on I suspect it will panic or try to correct.. But this is a good question for tesla. Thanks to the weather we've been having I've managed to drive recently in...

    Driving through Water

There are many parts that are properly sealed and those that aren't. For example, on top of the inverter there is a breathing hole which will most likely let water in, and it has no where to escape.. 20cm sounds ok at a guess, but personally I'd try to avoid that. Check out this thread...

    Small Generator as backup

Hi Tom, curious if your wife has been for a test drive? Also, if you can tell us where you live and travel to we can comment on the infrastructure present. Anyway, many of us had a similar concern, and for me, we kept our ice. Since I got this car however I actually drive 5x more. It's...

    Model X Reservation in Australia

Homer, thanks for clarifying. I expect they'll do a lot better than that as many investors will expect them to double production this year, and you're quoted timeframe hit model 3 launch where they better be doing 200k vehicles per year or they'll be hugely constrained to meet demand (not a bad...

    Rumor: Apple buying Tesla

I really hope Tesla stays independent of those two companies and any other really for as long as possible. Other than for short term TSLA gains I can't see this as being good. Edit: I'll clarify by adding that I see this as bad because culturally Tesla is quite different to Google and Apple...

Tesla stuck in Scone, NSW - need mobile charger

Any luck? I'm heading to Gloucester in a week or two. I'm sure that's not helpful but just in case - FYI. Did you contact roadside assistance or tesla directly to ship you one?

    7.1 in Australia

Summon, as it is now, will sell more cars in Australia. It's cute, and a great talking point. Tesla should lead in getting these issues sorted, because people are associating wins like auto steer with their brand. They've earned it, they just need to deliver that hard last mile.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

My last two days. in my five minute trip to Sydney airport see two Model S. Drive from LAX to SAN, one Model S. Today, spot an X. Must be getting them out there fast given those odds :) (I know, I know) Why are we under $210?

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Afaik there is no 2nd gen Volt or Bolt coming on RHD, so I struggle to see this as anything more than a compliance car. I hope the RHD model 3 isn't delayed as much as the S and X, as they'll be a nice gap in those markets for some time. Grabbed more TSLA at $222. Been buying on each large...

Improved Trunk lighting - Is there demand?

I've got them installed in my RHD. Only the right one was slightly interesting as they had tied the wiring right in the way of the light. Anyway, if you use scissors or write cutters along the carpet you'll find it should be held in place in just not or two small spots. I cut the top edge and...

    Audio system upgrades in Australia

I've also got standard sound on understanding I would upgrade to something see if needed. Anyway, we need to understand why and what exactly is compatible a little better - I've heard conflicting things about the speaker/drivers used and the wiring harness.
