So true. I got a Model Y recently and requested some adjustment on the alignment on a few gaps. I was told they were in spec. Anyhow, they went ahead to adjust the lift door and passenger doors. It looks even worse now. They fixed the small gaps, while left behind much wider gaps on the other...
Thank you, everyone.
There are indeed quite some superchargers in the area. I won't really need a CCS unless I go for some long road trips. I actually have no idea about where I will be going though :)
The adapter is on sale now. The question is how useful it can be with all the superchargers available almost everywhere. I charge at home when I am not taking long trip. Any thoughts?
It sounds a misalignment of the glass. I have also some issues with the glass on the door, most likely from installation. These have no impacts on the functionality, however, don't feel good. I would anyway put them in the service ticket and see what they can do.
I took my delivery yesterday at the SC in Lawrence, NJ.
We arrived half an hour earlier and the car was parked right in front of the entrance. We checked around it and almost immediately concluded that we wanted it. I didn't feel to pull out the comprehensive checklist I had spent time on. As...
Definitely shop around. These guys don't really reward loyalty. I feel the negative impacts of a new driver too. I told NJM that my son is away from home for college, so he doesn't really drive the car except vacations. I am not sure if that helps.
Thanks for sharing your insights. I have been with NJM for too many years. It's a good opportunity to shop around. I used to have my policies with Ameriprise through Costco. I had very good experience with them. I also had a few other providers, Liberty Mutual was probably the most expensive one.
Wow, that's a very attractive price. I got about $1.2k increase for 12 months on my policy for the Model Y. I have all my properties insured with NJM. Did you get comprehensive and collision coverage?
I don't think they are skipping people. It seems that they assigned VINs earlier for people from further locations, like the east coast even they ordered on the same day. It takes more time between the VIN and delivery, while it's very short for the people closer to the plants. So eventually...
Same here. I had enough with the low profile tires I have on another car. Riding quality is more important for me than the appearance. A set of nice covers don’t cost as much either.
Great points. I will probably start from the fenders which look not too complicated in shape. I saw you did number plate first. It could be great too. I will get a small piece of film from ebay and give it a try.
How hard is it for DIY? Almost all the detailers are saying it's going to be a disaster, as you can imagine :) I have read @zoomer0056 's post. It sounds a lot of preparation and practice, but doable.
Thanks for the insights. Do you mean to do a good job, they would have to take the panels apart to cover the edge? It seems quite some work for DIY then. I am struggling on deciding it. Material costs around $1k for full front. A professional service costs around $2k. Not sure if DIY is a good...
Congrats! I guess it may be that someone originally assigned for the car has switched to another option with the recent tax credit change.
Based on the past records, it's typically 2 weeks between VIN assignment and delivery for people in this region.
It's one of the questions they asked when I requested a quote. I am a guy saying "do you really need to wash your car regularly?" :) I don't recall that I have ever washed my current two cars since I bought them new 8 years ago. If they look dirty, I just leave them out of the garage in the rain...
It's pretty good. Of course, insurance depends on the state. I got a quote from my current insurance company for around $1450 a year, comprehensive/collision included. I have all my properties insured with this company.
Got a few quotes, mostly $2k for full front. I thought to include the lower part of the doors and rocker panels as well, but was told by a shop owner that it's not a good idea for a car in white color. The edge will show up with dirt after a while. So it's either full door coverage or nothing...
That's exactly where I don't get it. A repaint could be so much better than spending five, six thousand dollars for a film. I only heard this PPF thing after looking for a Tesla.
Indeed, I saw a few posts on the price as high as such, which makes me wonder. How much does it take to get a whole new paint every few year, $3k-4k? If so, isn't a new paint better than a wrap? We can change to different colors too. I guess I have missed something.
I am just curious to see if the speculation about the Radar in last December is true or not. Some people are now saying that the radar may come back in late this year with Cybertruck. Anyway, it isn't a deal breaker for me.
Response from my SA:
"We have no plans to (nor have we already) add radar back to our vehicles. Your vehicle comes with the latest in our Tesla Vision platform."
I guess I am lucky to have the latest Tesla technology :)
Good question. I saw the news too. Just sent a message to the SA asking the question. Everyone can ask their SA directly, so we at least get some official responses.
