    Firmware 7.0 - For Classic Model S

Just got Version 7.0. WOW. This is terrible. The dashboard used to have shaded areas around the buttons giving them a 3D pop. Now they look 2 dimensional. The app bar at the top used to float in a grey mesh where the icons seemed to float over the background. Now it's all matte black and shows...

    Drive Unit Replacement Poll

I'm getting my drive unit replaced today on my P85 with 25,000 miles on it. I took it in for the 2 year service (I skipped the 1 year) and I was told that there was a service bulletin calling for my unit to be replaced. I have NOT had the infamous "clunk" that others have experienced. There's...

    Supercharger - Albuquerque NM

If you are passing through ABQ I'd make it one of your overnight stops. There's a destination Tesla HPWC at the Sheraton, and also a free chargepoint (that gets 18mph) downdown, right across the street from the Doubletree. I didn't stay at either but left my car overnight twice at the...

    Supercharger - Albuquerque NM

Unfortunately I booked at a different hotel before I learned the Sheraton had the connector. I understand it's for hotel guests only.

    Supercharger - Albuquerque NM

That's great news. I am going to be travelling to ABQ in 2 weeks. It surely wont be done by then. ABQ doesn't have much infrastructure for EV's. I have looked at the chargepoint unit downtown at the department of municipal development as an option near my hotel. But I hear on Plugshare that it's...

    Supercharger - Cordes Junction, AZ

It has nothing to do with plates. If you have an EV you can park in the spot AND CHARGE. If you don't have an EV, GTFO of the parking spot because you are preventing someone else from charging. This also has to do with EV's parked in charging spots who aren't charging. They too are blocking...

    Supercharger - Casa Grande, AZ

John, What kind of mileage did you have left when you got back to Tucson? Did you charge at all while you were in Tempe? Makes me a little more optimistic about the trip to Tucson I have planned to visit clients this fall. The CG supercharger would make it a snap though.

    Supercharger - Cordes Junction, AZ

I wonder if they are going to be able to get this done in the next 5 weeks (when I head up there). It looks like everything is at a stand still.

    Supercharger - Cordes Junction, AZ

That's exactly my issue. There and back is good. But I do want to drive around for 2-3 days and hitting a NEMA 14-50 isn't terribly convenient, especially since I wont be staying at that hotel. The supercharger will be a game changer.

    Supercharger - Cordes Junction, AZ

For where I live in North Scottsdale the Buckeye Supercharger is a little out of the way for a drive to Sedona. It certainly can be done, and I've read about the outlet at Sedona Rouge. I was thinking of staying somewhere else though. If necessary I will plug into a traditional outlet and pick...

Road trip to Rocky Point, Mexico

Wow, good for you! We thought about taking our Tesla to Rocky Point in May (memorial day weekend) but decided against it. I was too concerned about the road quality (driving without a spare) and what how the general population would react to the car. I'm glad we didn't because the population was...

    Supercharger - Cordes Junction, AZ

The last 1% of this station is frustrating. Looking to take the family to Sedona in late Sept, and I'm hoping it will be done. It will by my first change to stretch my P85's legs, and battery. This supercharger will make it a breeze.

Prescott, AZ October 25, Meet-Up / Road Trip

I'd be up for a meetup in Prescott. Would it be kid friendly? My 9 year old son is crazy about Tesla's, but if it's all adults and we are pounding beers I'd leave him at home.
