If it is like the S, the lowest battery capacity has a lower voltage too ( 350V vs 400V). If the power limitation comes from the Amperes that the inverter can handle it means less power and slower supercharging too.

We went from a 85 to a 70D, no regrets here. If you have a supercharger on your way for the 200 miles trip you shoud be fine.

The main difference will be the power and acceleration. Range should be fine at 65mph for 200 miles. If you like driving fast or if you are up North in sub zero weather you may enjoy the extra capacity.

I second you. Once you get used to see a grill less car, the ICE grill feels so dated. It is like the engine noise: You think you'll miss it but you won't. It is just funny to watch ICE cars making so much noise to accelerate...

Do you have the green ring around the connector on the car? It should draw power even when pre-conditionning the battery. If the ring is orange or with no light you may have a defective UMC. Ours failed last winter. Some water may have damaged the connector. We just did an exchanger of the UMC...

Our car was built when the tech package option disappeared. We are missing the rearview auto dimming. Sadly we discovered that after delivery. Auto-dimming and power mirror should have been included. Still trying to arrange that with our service center.

We went from a 85 to a 70D. We rarely use all the range and charging infrastructure is getting much better. A Chademo adapter can do more than a little more capacity. Range difference is not much. The case for the 85D is the power. Getting much stronger acceleration than the 70. It is addictive.

70D acceleration above 60mph seems weaker than the 85 but it is more than enough for public road driving even on the worst mountain road.
