2015 70D waking up every 4 hours with 20.20.1 firmware

Since our update to 2020.20.1 we are seeing a strange issue. Our car is waking up every 4 hours to top off charge. The car is using 6 to 7KWH per day. Before the update the car was almost not losing charge for days even when connected to the wall charger. Since 2020.20.1 update, the only way...

Model X vs iPace vs e-Tron

Am I the only one to list the availability as an important criteria? e-tron should be hard to get and on order only. i-Pace is being has a super slow production ramp. About 600 sold to date. Anyway it is always fun to compare a 2016-2018 Model X to cars that may be available in 1 or 2 years...

Dual Motor no longer offers range choice

If it is like the S, the lowest battery capacity has a lower voltage too ( 350V vs 400V). If the power limitation comes from the Amperes that the inverter can handle it means less power and slower supercharging too.

My 2011 Leaf needs a new battery - CPO or repair and wait?

Get the battery, all other option are still open after. A 2011 with a new battery will have a good resale value! ( here a used 2011 is above $8K ($12000 CAD) in QC, Canada. )

Do you keep Creep on or off?

Off! I wish I could disable it on the Leaf too. One pedal driving is sweet.

    Battery size headache!!

We went from a 85 to a 70D, no regrets here. If you have a supercharger on your way for the 200 miles trip you shoud be fine.

    Battery size headache!!

The main difference will be the power and acceleration. Range should be fine at 65mph for 200 miles. If you like driving fast or if you are up North in sub zero weather you may enjoy the extra capacity.

A plea: no faux grill please

I second you. Once you get used to see a grill less car, the ICE grill feels so dated. It is like the engine noise: You think you'll miss it but you won't. It is just funny to watch ICE cars making so much noise to accelerate...

-20C : Our Tesla will not charge

If you have the same problem with the J1772 connector, it is probably on the car side. It the car is outside, you may try to heat the car's connector with a hair dryer to remove potential ice from the connector. I had this kind of issue with our Leaf once. A small bit of ice was it the way. The...

-20C : Our Tesla will not charge

Do you have the green ring around the connector on the car? It should draw power even when pre-conditionning the battery. If the ring is orange or with no light you may have a defective UMC. Ours failed last winter. Some water may have damaged the connector. We just did an exchanger of the UMC...

Power side mirror retrofit, does the heating of the mirrors works for you?

Our car was built when the tech package option disappeared. We are missing the rearview auto dimming. Sadly we discovered that after delivery. Auto-dimming and power mirror should have been included. Still trying to arrange that with our service center.

Power side mirror retrofit, does the heating of the mirrors works for you?

2 updates: #1# The service center has enabled side mirrors heating via software configuration. #2# Auto dimming is still missing because of rear view mirror is sensorless and I was told that upgrading it it not possible.

Power side mirror retrofit, does the heating of the mirrors works for you?

My car was built during the transition to the new set of options where the Tech Package does not exists. It has all the standard equipment of the new cars post may 2015. It was only missing the upgraded mirrors. To my understanding the heater and electrochromic hardware is there on the mirrors...

Power side mirror retrofit, does the heating of the mirrors works for you?

Hello, We own one of the first 70D. As we live in a cold and snowy area we asked we were pleased to learn that the new S came standard with power heated side mirrors. It is a security feature many month of the year here. Ours did not arrive with the power side mirror so it was retrofitted. If...

    CPO 2014 P85D or 2016 90D

How long do you plan to keep the car? Having 18 month of additional warranty may be interesting. The P85D is very very fast, the 90D is more than fast enough. Going new and chose the options you want has some value too. For the same price I would go with the 2016 if the wait is not too long...

    70D delivered. Pictures

Great pictures! Which white is it? We had a so, so delivery too. I understand that they went from a few deliveries per month to more than 250 at our service center and the team can not offer the same service than we had last year. Way too much volume for a small team. Growing pain I guess. I...

Looking for rims and winter tire near Montreal

One solution in Montreal are these wheels. Which are much lighter than the OEM, about the same look, but a bit more glossy. Having them in black could be a better option. "Replika r141a" Replika :: R141A I got them there ( about 900K$+tx installed): 5208 Des Grandes Prairies St.Leonard...

Slightly different take on the 70D vs. 85D debate

We went from a 85 to a 70D. We rarely use all the range and charging infrastructure is getting much better. A Chademo adapter can do more than a little more capacity. Range difference is not much. The case for the 85D is the power. Getting much stronger acceleration than the 70. It is addictive.
  31. C

60 and 70D owners, how is acceleration in mountains and above 65mph?

70D acceleration above 60mph seems weaker than the 85 but it is more than enough for public road driving even on the worst mountain road.

    70D power usage

    Used Tesla Model S

Try both. We had a 85S and now a 70D. The 85 RWD is not faster but it feels faster and sportier. The 70D is like on rails, almost boring to drive but the interior finition is better, many details have been improved compared to older 85, less wiper noise, more standard cruise command location...

    70D power usage

70D power usage and efficiency compared to RWD 85 Hello, We have our 70D since a couple of days. Before buying I was curious about the efficiency improvement compared to the 85 that we had for one year and 35000KM. Both cars had Michelin tires and 19 wheels. Here are the first numbers...

We had the same issue. 3 reboots needed since the update 7 days ago. Rebooted both screens. Next morning the center...

    S60 inventory price check HELP!!!!!

I second, go for the S 85. Supercharging and tire upgrade are worth it. We got a "plain" S 85 with no tech package and we have no regrets. We had the choice between an S60 + dual charger + supercharger and tire upgrade + tech package or an S 85. We went the 85 route, awsome car. The extra...

    Financing Tesla vehicles in Canada

Hello Mayhemm, So, is it correct that you have to pay interests on the initial amount even if you pay early? We wanted to finance 30% of the car but if it is the case it will be way to expensive to finance with Scotiabank / Tesla. Also I was not able to get all the financing conditions written...
