It would eventually flake off, exposing whatever metal/plastic is underneath leading to oxidation/corrosion/increased paint wear. You definitely deserve a repaint. Sorry that happened to you. I've seen a couple of the new Mustang Dark horses have the same issue.

Got my VIN today also ODD 7/29; B/W 1st EDD: 9/13-10/18 EDD: Oct 2nd - Oct 8th. San Antonio Tx Was hoping for last week of September but can't complain I actually have a VIN now.

My EDD was updated to Sept 20th - Oct 4th. [OD 7/29]. San Antonio Texas Blue/White.

OD: 7/29 EDD: 9/13-10/18 Hope it stays there.
