    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I had a pair of special bifocals made with the spilt in just the right place to read the screen. But then I discovered the Teslogic app for my phone and now I never drive without it, lovely BIG digital speedo, speed limits, cruise control setting and a few other things right inside the top half...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I have had this feature for a while and I really like it. However it sometimes turns itself off. In suburban streets without any lane markings it sometimes turns off, like when I am approaching my house and I put the blinker on to turn into the driveway. Also I have a T intersection at the end...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Have you configured the car to connect to your home wifi? It may not do updates over the car cellular connection. Also there is a setting under "Software" for updates, "Standard" or "Advanced", advanced supposedly will give you the updates sooner, maybe that might give the car a nudge, I have...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Thanks. I had tried scrolling the list before but I didn't seem to be able to get it to go any higher. Just went and tried again and got it first go. User error I guess. Usually when I say "I'm Cold" it used to interpret it as "I'm called". After changing it to British English it gets it...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

The Navigation Voice Language is for what it uses to speak the navigation instructions. I have only 2 choices, "American English" or "British English", I think it was always like that. The release notes specifically say "Voice Recognition Language" and point you to Controls-Display-Voice...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I just updated to 2023.12.1.1 this morning. I was keen to try out he British English voice recognition option but I don't seem to have the option. When I open the controls-display-voice recognition language setting for this it only has "English" as an option. Is anyone actually seeing the...

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

Usually about 5 - 10 seconds for me. I find it seems faster if you get in the car, press the brake pedal to wake up the car and then start the app. I also find that if I leave the car and take the phone with me, often it will not reconnect when I come back to the car. I have found it is best to...

I agree, just when the lights are on high beam.

Yes, the update fixed the blinkers. The new "Low Vision" screen is great, I can easily read it without my bifocals. I have only given the update a quick test, tomorrow I should be driving on a motorway do I should be able to give it a more thorough test. I like what I see so far. A couple of...

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

I just updated to 2022.28.2 and it seems to have broken the blinker function on the Teslogic app. Does anyone else have that problem after the update?

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

I just installed the device, so I haven't done much testing. Very easy to install and seems to work ok. On the original demo video near the start of this forum it showed the warning messages (that usually display in the bottom corner of the tesla screen) being displayed. They aren't displaying...

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

Hi Starship42, I read in another forum that you can tell the car is designed by engineers who live in California and are under 35 years old.!!!! Like me, you may have what my optometrist calls A.G.E. disease. Most people on the wrong side of 45 will struggle with the Tesla screen (I am 67). For...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

My car was delivered with 2022.11.xxxx on Friday and then yesterday afternoon the 2022.16.1.2 became available. Installed last night with no issues, so the previous response to my earlier post was correct, eventually the update will turn up.

I was going to buy one of those hangers on Aliexpress for the mobile charger for about $20 and then I thought, what about a garden hose holder and I found this in Bunnings for $2.98. It's a bit flimsy but does the job. https://www.bunnings.com.au/aqua-systems-plastic-hose-hanger_p3131204

Cars are still coming with portable UMC charger. I picked my car up last Friday. From what I read online before this was only ever a US thing, but there was a lot of backlash there so I don't know whether they went ahead with this. Elon Musk said the statistics showed the chargers weren't used...

I found NRMA was cheaper for comprehensive too. I took a $1500 excess instead of $1000 to make it a it cheaper. It was $1557 including windscreen. I also liked that I didn't have to name other drivers unless they are regular drivers and there isn't any extra excess as long as they are over 25 or...

If you mean the Green Slip, for Sydney (and I guess NSW) it is NRMA. Good price too, $420.

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Thanks for that. When I did my test drive last November (I think it had Michelins) I took special note of the noise and the ride, since I had read that both were an issue with the model 3 ( I even got a sound meter app for my phone so I could compare to my BMW 330i GT with Michelins on the...

So how have you found them? I have mostly been a Michelin man. The Hankooks seem to be a fair bit cheaper (which I guess is why Tesla is using them). And very good wet braking can't be a bad thing, could save your life one day.

Seems a strange numbering scheme. I would have always thought that 2022.12.xxxx would be later than 2022.11.xxxxx. I shall sit tight and watch for an update to become available, 2022.16 definitely seems to have a couple of things that aren't in my software.

On the Long Range? I thought I had seen earlier posts talking about Michelin. But I have seen a lot of online stuff so maybe I am getting confused.

Definitely the Ryzen chip. As best I can tell from looking at a couple of youtube videos I think I have the matrix headlights. ALSO, I forgot to include in my previous post that I got Hancook Ventus S1 Evo 3 tyres, I was expecting Michelin PS4 or perhaps Pirelli P Zero, so I am a bit...

Looking forward to hearing your experiences. I just posted about the S/W level my car came with. I would be interested to hear what level your car has when you pick it up tomorrow.

One more thing. I was surprised to find that the software level in my car is 2022.11.101.1. The screen says that my S/W is up to date as at 16th June, 2022 at 2:39pm. I was expecting it would be 2022.12.3.1 or the latest 2022.16.1.1. I connected to wifi to see if that would trigger something...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

So I picked up my M3 Long Range Blue/Black this morning. All went smoothly and the only fault I could find was that the gap between the piece of the tail light on the boot lid and the tail light on the body on the right side is slightly wider at the top than the bottom. I don't think I will...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

A bit more gloating. Actually I am getting it at 9am. As that TV ad used to say "it won't happen overnight but it will happen". I'm even willing to get up early and catch the train there to pick it up (if you knew me then you know what a sacrifice that is for me). My wife wants to call the...

I've seen online some of the US comments about phantom braking. Could you describe an example of the exact instance of one of your events (speed, number of lanes, type of road, traffic etc)? I used the adaptive cruise control a lot in my BMW including on single lane roads and only very rarely...

I just had a phone call from my SA, she has been on leave so I forgive her. They don't have a specific delivery date for my car yet, the next thing I will get is an SMS advising the potential dates to pick up the car, hopefully that will come sometime next week. So the net is maybe I will get my...

I haven't paid a lot of attention to the Berlin Giga factory start up, but it seems that it is ramping up now. Currently the model Y and 3 for Europe and the UK come from Shanghai. Presumably Berlin will now start supplying those markets. It seems they are starting production of model Y's first...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Has any of we lucky "few" who were given a VIN about 3 weeks ago and told our cars were coming "real soon now" actually received a car yet? I haven't been able to get any response (by phone or SMS) from my SA for a couple of weeks. I haven't actually even got confirmation that the cars have...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

I think the on board AC charger with the model 3 is maximum 11kw, so buying a higher capacity charger won't help you. Personally, I think I will get by with just charging from the 10A socket each night between Midnight and 7am to get the cheapest rate (currently 13.9 cents for me). One of the...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

I haven't got my car yet so I can't comment on how well it works, but I have read that there are voice commands to turn the wipers off and on and increase/decrease the speed. I have seen variable feedback on the voice commands in general, some saying it isn't 100% and others saying it is fine...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

I had a passing interest in Tesla's but what prompted me initially to go and drive one last November was a water leak in my 2017 BMW 330iGT. $1800 to fix, $500 for the part and the rest labour to dismantle half the engine to get to the water cooled oil cooler under the oil filter at the back of...

No, I am in Sydney. You have almost 3 weeks of "seniority" over me on your order date, so I can't really complain that they are doing your car earlier than mine, although I would hope that it isn't a serial queue with one person doing the work,

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Good to hear that there are at least some cars in Sydney. My EDD still shows June 6 - June 20, but I haven't heard anything further and I haven't been able to get my SA to return my calls for about a week (she has previously been pretty good). I completed transferring the funds today to Tesla so...

I have been watching the Port Kembla web site and there have been a constant stream of car carrier ships going in and out over past weeks. Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Turandot just docked in Port Kembla. Let's hope our Nov, 2021 orders are really on it. The ship leaves tomorrow morning so I guess we are now in the hands of the car transporters. I even thought about driving down there to see if I could see any Tesla's being unloaded, but that seems a bit...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

I didn't expect them to know which ship, I don't think it is unreasonable to ask them to find out. Someone in Australia is booking trucks to pick up specific VINs from specific ports on specific dates. I suspect production schedules might be "commercial in confidence", but it would be nice if...
