Who else who has a MY LR or Performance has driven the 2023 S and X? I was amazed at how much better built those vehicles feel, never mind the way they take the bumps in the road.
I'm feeling better already, you are right, after 5+ years, the used prices will stabilize. It is a paper loss only. Still your are also right, Tesla monthly price changes do make the front page, there should be a futures market for these vehicles!
Good points, especially on the heated steering wheel, at least I got that! Not sure the price will go back up anywhere near what we paid. I will say this, I certainly will delay my Cybertruck order until the prices come DOWN.
$18K price reduction in 1 year divided by 20 years, if I were to keep the car that long, is $900/year I meant, good catch! Who else has this situation...
Wondering how many people are in this situation?
I bought my 2022 MY Performance, took delivery in July 2022, total out the door price was $76.5K including taxes and fees. Yesterday I went to the Tesla shop, test drove an X and S. Both those cars are a lot smoother than the MY in my opinion...
If we only use the Model Y for 30-40 miles a day, is it best to set the overnight charge maximum to 60%?
I ask because I read several times if the car isn’t being used (vacation) for weeks or months, best to set the max to 50-60% for battery life.
I just read another post you can reverse them, to not show the logo.

Thanks for the advice! I looked at those early this morning, and wasn’t sure about the blue logo, they don’t offer a more discrete black logo. Great comparison to the OEM, a lot bigger!
I have read that the 21" Model Y Performance tires require bigger mud flaps for protection. I am looking for both front and rear, does anyone have advice on what brand to consider? Thanks!
Thanks very much. I have been keeping it at 50% when away for a month or more. Is there any advantage to keeping it at 60%? The reply below from gcell recommends this level.
I have a 2021 Model Y LR. I am away for weeks and sometimes several months at a time, and the car is plugged in to 14-50 240V outlet in the garage. Is there any advantage to keeping the charge maximum at 50% vs at 90%? I read a couple places online 50% is better for the battery.
Is there an ambient temperature on a heated steering wheel Model Y where you can feel the temperature difference? Tesla recently replace the steering wheel on my 2022 MY Performance because of a cosmetic defect. The MY is BRAND new and was just delivered last week. On the drive back, 72 degree...
Thanks for the advice! I took delivery and the car is awesome! I do have a slight ridge on my steering wheel, wondering if anyone else has this. I made an appointment at Tesla for them to look.
Thanks for the idea. I have a service appointment, let’s see what Tesla says. Not sure it would flatten with heat. I was asking also to see if anyone else got this on their model 3 or Y.
Just picked up my 2022 Model Y Performance yesterday and noticed a quality defect on the steering wheel. There’s an area that the steering wheel cover is bunched, creating a bump/ridge. I have a 2021 Model Y LR and the steering wheel is perfect. Has anyone run into this, or had it fixed by...
This morning, I got my Model Y Performance VIN, with delivery August 15-18. So it's coming. I looked online, and can't find the answers to some of my questions:
- about when will the Model Y Performance ship from Austin?
- what are the main differences between the 2 MYs from Austin and Freemont...
I’d like to try this. Same issue here. Can you be a little more specific on the strip of felt? Is the case then not in contact with the charging pad, but somehow still works?
