Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I sold my bike and no longer need this stealth hitch. This one includes all the hardware required to install it. If you are in the Houston area I can install it for an additional $100. It fits a 2017-2022 Model 3 and likely a 2023 also but I can't confirm.
The stealth hitch is a great solution...
Update:
I was able to get 4 runs in but they closed the track due to wetness. It rained during the day and it was extra humid in the evening. Everyone was complaining about traction.
Current car setup: 19" Martians 8-9lbs below the stock wheels with the Pilot Sport 4S tires. That helps offset...
All mounted and ready for the drag strip next week. I was consistently getting high 7.20's with the Uberturbines so I'm hoping dropping 9lbs per corner is enough for 7.10's.
Yeah I wouldn't bother with an 18x0 if it was going to be that heavy. My other 2 19x8.5 got delivered today. I ended up with 2 @ 22.0lbs, 1 @ 23.0 and one at 22.2. the heavier one had a different stamp on it so it does appear to fluctuate between production runs. Not a scratch on them though...
I was reluctant to buy from Martian after reading all the posts about slow delivery times and inaccurate weights. They have a black Friday sale going on and showed the 19" MW03's in stock so I decided to give them a chance. I ordered on Saturday and two wheels have already been delivered and the...
I'm selling my 2022 20" Uberturbines with Pirelli P Zeros because I bought Martian wheels. These wheels are in perfect condition (no curb marks, no scratches, no scuffs or bends). The tires have 5k miles and have normal wear but no patches or any other damage. The price doesn't include the TPMS...
What was your avg gain from the weight reduction? I saw your prior 0-60 was almost 0.2 higher than that run. Did you change anything else?
I'll likely go with the 235 width. It sucks the PS4's are cheaper in the 245's but I guess that's a more popular size.
I decided to go with lighter wheels since that's really the only "mod" available for drag racing. I settled on the 19x8.5 and I wanted your feedback on tires. Do you think 235/40-19 will have any less traction then the 245/40-19 for straight line racing? The 245 width would look better but I'm...
What range are you getting with the roof rack? With my hitch rack I use around 40% more at highway speeds. I ended up just putting the bike inside on the last trip to avoid a charging stop.
Here's a pic of my setup. I traded my black M3P for one that matched the bike better.
Update: The track was pretty crowded last night but I was able to get 5 runs. The only change was being more deliberate on pre-conditioning the battery and that gave me 15-20 minutes of heating before each run. In past results I rarely got the notification of preconditioning but last night I...
There's a list of reasons why they were in higher demand back then including peak gas prices, lower interest rates, longer wait times for a new one, and the wealth effect tied to real estate and stock prices. All that considered I don't think that's a reasonable offer. Nada is still pretty high...
I figured it held the higher temp longer after charging. It makes sense that my 3rd and 4th runs are usually the quickest though. I don't have a way to monitor the battery temp but would a few back to back runs be enough to get it hot? I'll continue to set the navigation to a charger also but...
I really hoped the performance gains we're greater but a 0.1 second 1/4 mile improvement is equivalent to adding 13hp. That's $231 for 1hp for an entry set of 18's and tires.

I've made 3 trips to the track recently in a '22 M3P and wanted to share what I've found and see what others have done to improve performance. I'm still on the 20" wheels and I'm going to experiment with tire pressure next time.
1. I ran a 7.43 with a passenger so weight seems to have a...
It's very easy to install yourself. What part of the warranty are they claiming this would void? Seems odd that they have a cutout in the plastic underside for a hitch that voids the warranty?
I started taking my '22 M3P to the 1/8 mile and have been only beat twice out of 16 runs. My times range from 7.29 to 7.39 and I'm wondering if it's realistic to drop to 7.15 with the 18" Martian wheels.
Here's my final list of repairs I submitted to Tesla. I'm not excited about it needing paint work on the trunk but at least it's limited to one panel. The rest of the car is perfect so the overall quality significantly exceeded my expectations.
1. There are several penny sized dents on both...
I already started tearing it apart with 35 miles on it so I can add a stealth hitch. The receiver drops out in a few seconds so it can still look stock. I can't imagine how those v8's feel after getting gapped and then they see a bike rack on the back.
My delivery rollercoaster came to a happy ending today. The short version is I ordered on Feb 12th, got crickets for 60 days before the next EDD update, got delivery scheduled before vacation but then missed that window because my car was put into charge port jail for 2 weeks. I'm back from...
Thanks for the input after the wheel change. What was your SOC for the 1/4 mile runs? These cars seem to do 11.6 to 11.7 in stock form so it's definitely a nice improvement.
Before you cancel get some quotes from online buyers. They quoted me 66,250 for mine and then emailed me a few days later trying to offer more. The total cost was 60,527 so add in another $3800 for tax and I would still come out ahead. Your results may differ depending on your vehicle tax rate.
There is hope that I'll leave this club soon and I hope the same applies to you all. Estimates keep bouncing around but I'm told that the mysterious charging port part is available and my car is being prepped for delivery tomorrow. I'm rolling the dice and accepting delivery from a beach in...
I'm really happy for you guys who have taken delivery recently. The cars looks great and it sounds like the flaws have been minor.
Let me sprinkle in some bad news so others can prepare for both outcomes. My car continues to sit waiting for the charging port repair. Tesla hasn't stopped...
I shouldn't be surprised but Tesla was not able to come through on my simple request to look at my car before I go out of town. It's in my city waiting on the charging port repair but their policy is to not allow viewings prior to when it passes the inspection.
I hope we have better EV's...
I stopped by the delivery center and talked to them. They were actually really nice even though I'm sure they have had a tough job lately. They confirmed my car and a few others in Houston are waiting on a part for the charging port but they are expecting them as early as tomorrow.
Search "Charge Port ECU" on Reddit in the past week. Most people seem to agree it's an ECU that needs to be replaced but some people are saying the actual charge port is missing. The ECU seems more likely. I'm also seeing VIN#"s ranging from 235xxx to 238xxx that are impacted. I'm going to swing...
They offered $44k for my 2020 with 14k miles and no FSD. I got quotes from 6 other places and Tesla was by far the lowest. I sold it for $54k to DriveO.
He told me they expect the part on May 20th but he changed my delivery to May 12-16 so we'll see. I'm happy to hear they have parts available though if they already have yours on the way.
Your VIN was 237xxx right? I have the same charging port issue also and mine is 2365xx. Anyone else with a VIN near ours should prepare to be disappointed.
Kinda ironic...Tesla called right after posting this. For you guys that have a delivery date the last thing you want to see on your caller id is Tesla. My car has a faulty charging port so they can't deliver the car until May 20th when the part comes in.
M3P, Midnight Silver/Black, no FSD...
