I found some instructions online and raided my kid's LEGO stash again to build a Model 3. I updated a few style cues to look more like the car. I didn't have all the parts in blue, but I got close.
Delivered.
Found a knick in the paint at the rear door handle that they poorly attempted to correct. It's hard to tell in the photo, but that white ghosting isn't dust. It's where they burned through the clear coat. So, first service appointment is scheduled. Otherwise, it was a painless...
Financing approval is only good for so long. Thus, my SA advised claiming a cash payment at order and switching and applying when I got the vin as to avoid hitting my credit twice. Worked like a charm.
Delivery is tomorrow morning. Stoked.
Yeah, not a big deal in most cases. For me, we are building a house and will need to lock in our financing once we get closer to the close date, so I want to avoid any unnecessary noise on my credit.
Maybe a lease is different, but I hit the submit button and almost instantly received an email notification. Approved.
When I ordered, my SA advised seeing it to cash to avoid multiple credit pulls and switching at the VIN.
Hot damn. I'm incredibly surprised. Got a VIN and final payment email (1:27 am). 👍🏻

There is a chrome extension that will check the page for you at the press of the button. I can't recall the exact name but if you search for Tesla in the chrome store you should find it.
Not holding my breath on the VIN. If you look at previous EDDs of mine, you'll see that at two different times I was within the EDD window by a couple of days and had the EDD bumped. Not sure why. So far in my case, there has not been anything reliable about the patterns of the EDDs in any way.
These updates are getting funny at this point.

Blue/white, No FSD...
In the reddit threads I have followed on the subject, there are comments referencing actual deliveries in the same thread that disprove these theories.
The reddit posts that claim that estimated delivery dates change on the site if you option FSD can be disproven just by going and doing your...
FSD can be added to any car. Good luck proving you can game the system with it.
Tesla builds cars in the most efficient way they can at the time. So, if there are 200 orders of white/black M3Ps and 50 orders of blue/white M3Ps, they will build, and most likely deliver, the white cars first...
I have stopped trying to make sense of the dates. I’ve been renting a car since my order and the dates impact whether I rent week to week or month to month, which is a bit cheaper. So at this point, the sporadic date changes are costing me money.

Ugh. Tesla hates me. They pushed my delivery back two to three months today. It is depressing as hell driving a soul-sucking Avis rental Camry for months waiting for this thing to show up.

I have a similar perspective. I want summer tires for the summer and will swap wheels and tires to something more appropriate for the snow during the winter. I have found the best all seasons are okay at everything, but great at nothing.
I’m coming from a Macan S which isn’t as nice as a 911. The M3P acceleration blows it out of the water. The handling and stability control of the Porsche is better. The 3 is still good there though.
At checkout, it was March for me. The next day it was 4 weeks in May. 4 days later it was changed to 4 weeks in February - March. It's stayed that was since. Today I noticed that the dates haven't changed but it now says 'check back later' instead 'you're car is getting built.' I'm going that...
I believe the March date at ordering is simply a placeholder on their site. It's updated with an accurate date the day after ordering. That happened when I ordered too.
