Agree with ruling out wheel imbalance first, but there is an apparent issue with the refresh Model S having a subtle vibration under gentle acceleration at moderate to higher speed (see: POLL: vibration felt when slightly accelerating refresh Mode S Plaid or LR).
I definitely have noticed this...
It's a state law if the car doesn't have a spare or runflats:
MD Transp Code § 22-405.3 (2018)
If a new Class A (passenger) or Class M (multipurpose) motor vehicle is sold in this State, the manufacturer shall equip the motor vehicle with a spare tire that conforms with the requirements in §...
Received same exact date range yesterday for Maryland order placed in Aug '21. Plaid / Red / Cream / 20 / no FSD (may add)
Any new rumors on when the matrix headlights might make their way to the X range?
As another Plaid reservation holder, fingers crossed that it's not because of drivetrain shudder with that massive power. Haven't seen any mention of this issue from the few Refresh LR owners yet, so hopefully it is a non issue now.
Cream + walnut combo looks really classy! Wish Tesla would offer a wood accent option in addition to CF on the Plaid X, esp since the Plaid S offers that choice.
Stopped by Saturday morning. Concrete bollards weren't enough to keep someone from knocking out one of the three working stalls. Figured it was a careless utility truck but on closer inspection, found a Honda emblem along the base of the SC .... The charger to the right worked just fine.
Correct, titanium metallic. Had a short run (? unpopular) but was offered on both the S and X. I own a 2016 X in this color and named it "The Dustbuster" in homage to the ubiquitous 1980s beige electric appliance.
Congrats! I also bought an early P90D earlier this month with similar miles for about the same price (the metallic titanium ones seem to be especially cheap / unloved!). My wife really likes the car from a functionality standpoint compared to our S. The drawbacks of an early X have already...
Mixed feelings on these: creates a nice optical illusion to make the wheel diameter look bigger (nice for those who don't want to the downsides of running 22") but $2K for some well-placed paint is a stretch. I wonder if the inner barrel is black as well?
My similar vintage 90D with cyclones also rolled out on the Michelins. I don’t recall summer tires ever being an option on the 19s, cyclones or not. I think the Michelins were an upgrade over the regular a/s tire that came equipped on the standard five spoke 19s. Like the other poster, I have...
I realize that this is an old thread, but for anyone currently looking for Opticoat / Xpel coatings in the MD/DC area, I had Rob from Proform Auto (Home - Proform Auto) in Ellicott City apply Opticoat and a partial Xpel wrap and was very happy with the results. He has quite a bit of experience...
Much more attractive than the prior base wheels and essentially a -2 version of the turbines. I wonder if they will phase out the cyclones given the similar aesthetic. At any rate, it seems harder to justify the $2500 premium for the cyclones now, unless there are other advantages (lighter...
Anyone know when the Owings Mills location will be open for business? My November-delivery 90D is scheduled to go through Rockville, but Owings Mills is a lot closer!
