Has anyone heard of a Tesla being rear ended because of phantom braking?

Sure, speed limit was 70 mph and car suddenly braked from 70 down to around 40 before I could correct it throwing my wife forward having to catch herself on the dash. This happened with no traffic coming forward or backward. This happened repeatedly for about two hours until we got to a more...

Has anyone heard of a Tesla being rear ended because of phantom braking?

I was under the impression pb had gotten better but just did a trip Utah to California and had extreme pb on us 95 between Las Vegas and Reno. No rhyme or reason just some serious pb and sometimes with no traffic in either direction. Going to change the name of the y from blue tiger to blue...

    Cancelling my reservation

I've been on the ev train since 2009 when I converted a mazda miata to ev and also a Tesla fan since they existed. Stood in line to place two reservations for the 3 and being retired will not spend more than necessary. Not happy about the delay and sad to see that Tesla has not learned their...

    Supercharger - St George, UT

If you want to avoid downtown go north 1/4 mile on bluff (hwy 18) and turn right on red hills pkwy then turn right on 1000 E. This will take you around all the traffic lights and you'll be right next to I 15. Half the distance is 50 mph also.

Not much elevation change out of Las Vegas to St George but out of St George to Cedar City it goes from 2500 ft to 5500 ft and then you have to go over a mild pass to drop down into Beaver.

    Supercharger - St George, UT

I Checked Starbucks today and there is a backhoe and trenching around the transformer with electrical conduit on the ground. No one was on the site as it was 107 degrees and much to hot to be working in the afternoon. I'll check in the morning to see if this is for Tesla or not.

I talked to the crew at the Nephi site about two weeks ago. They said they had done the Richfield and Beaver sites and said they didn't know where they would go next but thought it might be Colorado. I was hoping it would be St George but they didn't seem to think so.

David Noland suggests Model S pedal placement is a safety hazard

Just saw a u tube video of tesla brake pedal going all the way to the floor. You could hear the electric vacuum pump going on and building vacuum and shutting off but pedal kept on going down. this indicates a vacuum leak in the pump or in the lines to the vacuum pod. The only other thing it...

David Noland suggests Model S pedal placement is a safety hazard

Low Vacuum I don't know if this could be the problem but with my Miata converted to electric I had to install a vacuum pump to build up vacuum for the power brakes. I recently had the problem of a vacuum leak and the car would not hold the vacuum to the set amount. I'm sure Tesla uses a system...

David Noland suggests Model S pedal placement is a safety hazard

Seems to me there are a lot of people who have experienced this problem. It wouldn't hurt for Tesla to look into it. I remember in the late 50's car's had a problem with power brakes and maintaining vacuum. It took several years before engineers isolated and improved the vacuum brakes. I'm not...

David Noland suggests Model S pedal placement is a safety hazard

A problem if you have slow reaction times and are like my wife and many other people who when they feel the car accelerating automatic push harder on the pedal. Old people have this problem a lot.

I'm interested to know why it did this then with the author of this article? Maybe a rolling stop type of situation? He states it had happened 3 or 4 times to him.

    Supercharger - St George, UT

Just got back from Arizona and checked on SC in St George. The plans have been finalized and they will be submitting them for permitting soon. I understand that Tesla wanted to build in the Red Cliffs Mall but the Mall wouldn't go along with it so that's why they ended up building close to the...
