Picked up my Model 3 today in Brisbane. It's fantastic, best car I've ever driven by a long way. Autopilot is brilliant. I've run out of superlatives but I'll make a video eventually. For everyone still waiting… the wait will, eventually, end. It's worth it.

To note, the same is not true in Queensland — no plates are fitted until it hits the state. You can still take out insurance with a VIN though.

It's probably all these things combined. Yes, the Berlin Gigafactory is online and will help with Model Y deliveries to Europe, but Tesla's plans for this aren't public yet. Parts shortages could play a part, the price of nickel due to the Ukraine situation could cause problems for availability...

I’m in Brisbane, EDD March 10-24, and have just been told my car is still expected at the distribution centre in about two weeks from now. So no huge delay.

It's a shame they can't offload the local Tesla deliveries in Brisbane too — I guess they're just fueling up?

Following up, the rogue “14-20 weeks” notice has now been removed entirely from the account info page and the app. Looks like it was just a glitch.

I have now been told by two separate sales agents that the 14-20 weeks now visible in account info is a generic date put on all orders, and that the original wait time when an order was placed still stands. Fingers crossed!

Like some others here, I had ordered about 4 weeks ago, when the wait was 8-12 weeks, but today my order page was updated to show 14-20 weeks. Unfortunately that's the same wait as for new orders, taking us at least into April and potentially June. I guess we'll get more info from sales agents...
