    Headlights too bright?

IMO Tesla lets MYPs leave the factory (not sure about LRs) with the low beams set about the same height as airplane landing lights...or at least that was my experience. I'm pulling from memory here, but I think the way to fix this is: Park on a flat surface facing a wall when it's dark. Put...

    Phantom Braking - Fixed.

I noticed a huge difference between updates prior to 2022.8.3 / 2022.12.3 / 2022.12.3.1 for sure on my 2022 MYP. Prior to those updates, AP was absolutely miserable and frankly dangerous...since then, it seems to be substantially better. I haven't used it enough to say it's "good" or "perfect"...

    Recent MYP Delivery Estimates

Regarding delivery -- IMO, if you make it to ~110 days without a VIN (assuming no holds ever on your order), you should start to poke around and wonder what's going on. Much of anything before that seems like it falls within the realm of "normal wait time" for an MYP in the current environment...

Unfortunately the Tesla VIN gods are not so forthcoming. Usually, it seems like that is a good sign, but I definitely had a case where I had a 10 day window and was in the window and VINless..and then it moved out a whole month. Try not to get your hopes up too much, but I do hope you get a...

I'd probably just take it with the SA being a little too optimistic. Logistics is hard, even on something fairly local to the factory like that. Truck driver didn't show up or they overprovisioned and your car got bumped to the next truck but the database didn't update before the SA told...

Took delivery today in Loveland, CO for our MYP Blue / Black / No Tow / No FSD with an OD of 11/15/2021 and a VIN of NF383xxx. The car was 99.9% perfect - we did find 3 very small paint chips and 2 small paint scuffs that the delivery person took pictures of and scheduled a service appointment...

Took delivery today in Loveland for our MYP Blue / Black / No Tow / No FSD with an OD of 11/15/2021 and a VIN of NF383xxx. The car was 99.9% perfect - we did find 3 small paint chips and 2 small paint scuffs. Otherwise, it was pretty much perfect. Ryzen & A/S tires. Drives like a dream.

Usually not. I think the few times this happened is because a car was damaged in transport or a defect was discovered at the delivery center. Usually it's something like EDD tightens to 2 weeks... tighten to one week... VIN assigned... <do the stuff to prep for delivery> ... Choose Delivery...

So my strategy was initially to use the Tesla chat feature ( Tesla SSO - Sign In ) and that only kind of worked (he couldn't exactly verify AMD, but said it was the "newer" chip and didn't know about tires), but the rep that I talked with said to call one of the local Tesla centers and pointed...

I got an NF383xxx VIN this morning. Any ideas if that's likely AMD or Intel? I'm going to call the SC here in a bit, but curious if others have gotten 383 VINs yet confirmed to be one way or the other. (For historical purposes: OD 11/15 / MYP / Blue / Black / No Tow / No FSD in Colorado)

Any compelling alternatives to a Model Y?

I would say that the Mustang Mach-E is probably the closest competitor, but the Kia EV6, Genesis GV60 (soon) and Hyundai Ioniq 5 (all 3 are basically the same car platform) are probably in that mix too. The real struggle IMO is availability and pricing. All of the above have dealership models...

The only problems with this argument is that there are 4 out of the 7 vehicles listed are Teslas...and two are $100K+ vehicles (why isn't the lucid air here?). If I were Tesla, I'd sandbag on the range by using less batteries while designing the structure to accept more if needed. The idea being to keep the range the same as it is now and wait for competitors to catch up and produce similar vehicles with 350mi ranges and then without much effort...

When lead times are bouncing around from 2 months to 12 months depending on model and configuration and prices are increasing seemingly every 4-5 weeks, I can see the logic for a lot of people placing their orders just trying to time the market and get in line...but actually wanting their car 6+...

    Model Y Alternatives?

I would consider adding an Ioniq 5 and a Mach-E to that list possibly. The Mach-E is more traditional car and has a lot of the more creature comforts of regular cars (whereas Tesla is just a screen and a steering wheel). The handling/moose test in a Mach-E is not as good as Tesla though and...
