Yep understand what you are saying. Having a 10kw inverter and 14kw panels most times I can produce enough to cover electricity used and feed enough into the grid to offset any charges. But as you say, there really is nothing for nothing!

Just a quick note to those looking to install the Zappi 2 charger mine is working perfectly. My LR is fed free solar electricity every day without any problems.

I think to be realistic using a Zappy or similar single-phase and using excess solar only to charge your car you need at a 10kw inverter and 13kw or more solar panels. Even then on a good day, you will only get the max10kw two or 3 hours during the middle of the day.

Try that, because mine works perfectly. I think from the manual when using Eco++ you need 1.4 kW free before it will start charging the car.

It could be. I also am not using the "harvi" but a wired connection to the Zappy. Only the hub is wireless. When I used the wireless harvi it was not working well.

I have a 14kw solar system with a 10kw SolarEdge inverter with Zappy V2 single phase. It works perfectly with no delays using eco++ as you can see in the pictures. If any have questions or need a very good installer on the Sunshine Coast let me know.

I use Zappy V2 using solar setting only and it works great.

I am super pleased with them. Makes the car look so much better. Ordered the aftermarkets wheel caps as well which should be here in the next week or two on Amazon

My Midnight Silver LR gets Rayno S9 tinting today including roof and Atri Pro Nano Graphine coating. Should be ready for pick up tomorrow. Also had the silver rims powder coated satin black yesterday and look terrific. Will have pictures tomorrow. Recommend A1 Powder Coaters on Sunshine Coast...

The best bet may be to join Vedaprime for $15 and get an exact answer. Once you have your VIN and build date Vedprime will be able to tell you and then you would need to arrange with your Tesla rep. The other problem you may have is registration.
