Poll: How many are still using original 12V Battery that came with the car?

A friend is still running the original 12v in her launch Model X.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Late 2021 LR MIC w/LG 75kWh range update October showed 532km @ 100%, a gap down from 537km in September (and steps down to 531km immediately when put in D and rolling, so going with that number.) Since last time to full the car has been spending some time at higher charge levels, including two...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Yes. If max range when new is around 550km EPA for this configuration I'm looking at less than 3% loss for the first year. So happy with the car.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Yes, average battery temperature should be well below 25°C, it is not hot around here and the car is parked in an underground garage that keeps around 18°C year round. Average SoC should be below 50% I think. The rebate club :) Indeed, but I am curious about the max EPA kilometers shown in...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

My late September 2021 MIC LR with LG has been kept mostly in the 20% - 55% range, with a few charges above 80%. Plus five charges to 100% complete for when I visit family in Malmö, max range data shown below: 546km March 544km April 541km July 538km August 537km September Somewhere around...

Wireless charging essentially useless in the summer?

My experience exactly! I've tried Lego brick spacers in different configurations, phone upside down, all that happens is the phone overheating. Phone occupies a cup holder now and I wonder if it would be possible to insulate the charger coil somehow so I can put it up in the charging area instead.

Wireless charging essentially useless in the summer?

Not for the 12 mini. Probably because its too short to properly align with the charging coil (coils?). Sometimes, maybe, I get the charge starting chime but all that happens is the phone gets hot. I pull a charging cable from the back to avoid keeping the centre console ajar. Less than great.

Can I do a software update via flash drive?

There is no way for my wifi to reach down into my parking garage so I use the phone as hotspot solution. Works fine.

How long do you need to sit above 85% for the cells to balance, ballpark hours figure?

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

At around five months and 9100km exactly, the car showed 546km range after being charged to 100% plus an hour. A decent number. This car has been charged at supercharges mostly and exclusively for the first month I had it. Curiously, the range estimate jumped to 549km when I put the car in...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

As been pointed out elsewhere you have seen the 580 km figure in Teslas European marketing materials, they can market according to the less demanding standard WLTP here. But when you get in the car you will see the lower EPA-based range estimate, which can be a disappointing surprise until you...

Can 5G be added to Model 3?

The problem you are running into here is that wireless tech is outpacing the expected lifespan of your car. But why cant they just keep the old towers, and run all the Gs then? That is because the towers are expensive to maintain and run, but also because they are big, unsightly, and some...

Can 5G be added to Model 3?

3G? The possible benefit of upgrading from 4G/LTE to 5G is whats being discussed in this thread.

For the mortals without a homecharger...

It has worked out surprisingly well for me. I took delivery of a M3LR at the end of September and I am still waiting for installation of my home charger because of reasons. There are 7.2kW municipal chargers about 400m from where I live and there is always space there. At work there are 11kW...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

No. Users on this forum like AAKEE above, have gotten the science around battery aging, degradation and expectations pretty much nailed down by now. There is broad consensus that keeping your car at a low SoC when resting is good. (Though different rules apply for the new LFP packs.)

Can 5G be added to Model 3?

You were talking about upgrading from 4G to 5G, which will probably little to no real world benefits. That was what I responded to.

Can 5G be added to Model 3?

LTE probably provides more than enough bandwidth for anything in a car. 5G bandwidth have other applications, sports stadiums, huge events, large crowds.

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

My demands are as follows, in order of importance: Bring back seat heat, wiper controls and the defroster Give me my cards back, too And the Wifi, LTE information Finally go back to the good looking icons the new ones are bad Other than that I like the general new look and the blind-spot camera.

New iPhone 13 Pro Max in a case does not work with the 2021 Model 3 wireless charging pad

I have a problem getting my iPhone 12 mini to charge, I suspect the phone is too small? If it was taller it would connect possibly.

    Model Year 2022 Refresh M3/MY

I won the "lottery". Got my E5CD delivered on the last day of September, a little disappointed finding that there's a newer, better, bigger and faster charging battery available. But I received a nice rebate and more importantly, I have the car in hand, now. Every day driving the Model 3 LR over...
