New Octopus Switchers / Energy Crisis

I switched from OVO last week. All happened really quickly and without drama. I didn't have a smart meter but booked one through OVO for the next day as Octopus was saying they couldn't do it until October. So worth checking with existing supplier if you're thinking of switching. Installation...

Sorry, that sucks. Hope I can renew though!

    Model Y Churchill Insurance

Worth a call if it saves a few hundred quid.

    Model Y Churchill Insurance

Think I called based on a thread on TMC. They said they insure all cars.

    Model Y Churchill Insurance

I'm the same age and similar kind of location. I went direct to Citroen insurance for my M3 before I received the car last December and am currently paying c.£350 (15k miles fully comp). Would definitely recommend giving them a try.

Zappi or Hypervolt for a solar home system ?

I believe they were generic plugs until Tesla made a change to their locking mechanism. Can't really blame hypervolt for that! Seems like it's not a problem anymore though. Can't say I've experienced the other issues highlighted here, so can't comment on them.

Zappi or Hypervolt for a solar home system ?

I would thoroughly recommend hypervolt. Not only do they look smart and unobtrusive, they have a solar link (see below), you can schedule charges, easily lock, and most importantly fantastic customer services. I had issues with our installer's installation leaving us late on a Friday without to...

TeslaPro.co.uk do the same as orbitals and quick delivery in UK. These are on my M3

    Caliper covers and wh/mi

Thanks for that. Luckily it's a very 'non-invasive' retro-fit so easy on... and easy off.

    Tesla paint repairs (Milton Keynes)

You could try VCR (used to be Scuff n Scratch) down in Bletchley. I've had a couple of keyings sorted by them that were great... however, these weren't Teslas. Worth a check though. I'm just waiting for insurance to come through and I'll be putting my M3 into Frosts for a door dent.

    Caliper covers and wh/mi

"No, just the opposite. Covers act as an insulator, separating the calipers from the cooling airflow, and preventing heat dissipation." Citation needed. I'mll up for hearing other opinions but if that's just your opinion then that should be stated. I'd actually bought the caliper covers due to...

    Caliper covers and wh/mi

So here's a couple of pictures, one from the top, the other from the bottom, showing the only two fixtures as well as the clearance. There shouldn't be any compression sideways. However, a rubbing pad seems more likely than the cover coming in contact with anything.

    Caliper covers and wh/mi

I'd also read that caliper covers can actually dissipate the heat from your brakes and improve the overall performance of the brakes?
  15. bobbylodge

    Caliper covers and wh/mi

Wouldn't this result in some heat coming off the calipers?

    Caliper covers and wh/mi

Thanks for the comment. While the wheel was off I checked and there didn't appear to be any rubbing. With the wheel on, should there have been any rubbing against the wheel, I would have thought that 1) there would have been evidence of this on the paintwork of the caliper, but also 2) that it...

    Caliper covers and wh/mi

I fitted some brake caliper covers to my M3 but the wh/mi jumped considerably, like to 400!. I then removed (one by one) to try and see if it was a single cover or all of them contributing. There was definitely one that may have been less than idealy fitted as the wh/mi dropped a lot after...

low pressure one tyre, no obvious damage

Pressure dropped again yesterday. Had the tyre off and looked like a stone that had lodged itself caused the issue. Called a few tyre places that said "you can't fix those foam tyres". Found a place and actually turned out I had a piece of glass slowly eating its way through! If you've got...

    Lease mileage

I've been thinking the same thing recently. I've got a 15k per year lease plan but think it will be closer to 20k in reality. My lease company can amend the mileage but only in increments of 10k so I'm going to review after year 2 and then make any necessary amends to level up if required.

low pressure one tyre, no obvious damage

I had exactly the same problem on the same corner a couple of weeks back. Was dropping about 2-3PSI every week . When it got to 38 I topped up but haven't needed to this week so may well have been the valve that was corrected by inflating? I'll keep an eye on it.

I know what you mean about the faff of sorting the phone's hotspot every time... and would be the main reason for me subscribing. How did you 'upgrade' though? I have no option in the upgrade section of my app. I'm guessing you're lease too?

Hey Rocko, after a lot of searching last night, it does appear that my premium connectivity must have ended over the weekend. Were you affected in the same way? I didn't get any notifications or messages from anyone so was a bit of a surprise. All good things must come to an end I guess. Now...

Downloaded 2022.12.3.2 earlier today. Not sure if it's my phone but now I'm having to use my key card every time to drive, rather than just having my phone on me (even though it opens the car). Anyone else had this issue?

Although slightly in jest, it appears I was wrong: "The number of Teslas on the road in the UK has jumped by 336% the past year, rising from 27,000 to 90,900. Milton Keynes has the most Teslas per capita in the UK." Number of Teslas on UK roads more than trebles in a year – here are the Tesla...

    Model 3 Seat Comfort

Yes, I'm sure safety is key here over comfort, so moving it up 'may' have an impact. I've also seen 'cushions' that that hang around neck height that could help... but again, wouldn't like to say about effect on safety in a crash.

    Model 3 Seat Comfort

I've had my M3 for 5mths and although found it uncomfortable at first, found a position that seems to work... most of the time. For me, it's the angle of the headrest that causes the issues. There is a video online that shows you how you can adjust the headrest by increasing its height, but...

    UK Charge Point Installer Recommendations

Although I can't necessarily recommend the installer, I can recommend Hypervolt. The customer service and support is amazing. We had problems as we live in an old Victorian terrace and although sent all the info and photos, we found our earth wasn't up to scratch so and installation day turned...

    Home charging question

I have a Hypervolt. The app seems to be pretty clear. You tap in your tariff fee and it does the sums for you so you can see both power consumption and cost. You may find the installation more challenging than working out the spend depending on the model you go for and the property it's being...

Not sure if this has already been posted but having used it twice in the last couple of weeks, the charging at Notts Victoria Shopping is great... but also has it's frustrations. I've been mid-week for work travelling up from north London and the location was perfect for me. When dropping in...
