Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I'm in the same boat.. though Texas' winter hasn't been as severe as yours probably, it has been plenty wet and cold.. down to 22F and consistently for a week at a time is very cold for us. I took Delivery in mid December and have been looking forward to our famous Dry Hot Summers to see if I...
Phantom drain would imply "unknown" drain issues... there are very good reasons why the main battery SOC depletes with seemingly "no use"... a lot of components on board to power, keeping up the 12V, sentry, hvac if enabled, etc, etc. etc.
Glad I'm not alone but feel bad for you guys.. if your SC is worth anything and they can get the part fast enough hopefully they'll have you up and running again in a week or less.
They got it done a day early... impressive service out of the Fort Worth Service Center. Back up and running, done a hundred miles or so on it and all seems well.
They don't seem to "know" anything other than the rear drive failed. They don't seem to want to talk tech with me which is unfortunate.
Maybe if they're open when I go pick it up I can talk to someone.
I didn't ask for a loaner (i have another car) and they didn't offer either... as on Sunday...
So far it has been at the service center for one full business day, it's being looked at so no idea what the issue is. They're supposed to get back to by mid day tomorrow but I'll believe it when I see it.
Posting mostly to vent, but had an interesting thing happen yesterday.
Driving along at highway speeds when I feel a sudden lurch and then the car starts telling me to pull over, limits the speed to 68MPH and says rear motor temporarily disabled and that the car is shutting down.
Roadside was...

Looks like the suspicions of over collecting were right...
The overhead panel where the interior lights and the hazard light buttons is a little loose, but it doesn't rattle or anything so it's extremely minor.
And boy am I glad I went ahead and took delivery, if BBB is dead there's no reason to wait!
The SC person and I came to a mutual agreement that I could pick it up at a show room to make it faster as they wouldn't have to truck it out to me... so assuming that holds true today then I'll be going to pick it up in a couple of hours.
Except it IS enough to cause a stink about and EVERY other car manufacturer would remedy this as a defect in their workmanship / QA. Tesla, at this price point especially, should definitely NOT be getting any exceptions on this.
Well the service center may let me do a pick up at a show room near me and that may make the car arrive faster, but unknown at the moment for sure. waiting for the car to arrive at the actual service center.
Glad you got yours! I am still waiting, apparently my DD is Monday but they say the vehicle is in TX.. I think ours came on the same train and we're beholden to how slow our SC's are. They will not give me the option for SC pick up and it sounds like yours refused it too.
I'm told it "might"...
If you pay attention to the details it shows a "-" next to it, which means it's already paid. They have to have it on a line item as it applies to your order cost.
Barring a mistake, this is probably the only explanation.
I'm itching for next Monday to arrive (20th) but mine is still in CA so I'm not sure how confident I should be in that date.
They said it takes about 3 days to get from CA to TX via the train that takes 'em there. I'm a 328 vin so maybe that means I've got the A/S coming!
I'm very anxious, my...
