They (Elon) has stated that they are beyond the necessity for end of quarter "pushes", and that production is, what production is.

    October 2021 Order Delivery Dates

Further Bad News: My config is almost exactly the same (but I added FSD to speed it up), and I got a VIN shortly after (April 25th), BUT it's been almost a month and the 5-day range just keeps getting pushed. SA told me today that the car is still in California, at least 2-days drive from...

Next to the Appalachian Brewing Co, where the Noland Plumbing place used to be?

2022 Delivery Date for my Model Y

I'll check to see how this ages in a few weeks. Lol Giga Austin posted 1,100 jobs three weeks ago. The Q3 report shows completed office/admin areas, part stamping lines, beginning stockpiles of sub assemblies, and test-line beta builds of one piece front and rear castings. They already have...

Anyone regret buying the Acceleration Boost for their Model Y?

Yea...it's crazy. My '88 Mustang GT, with intake, headers, exhaust, heads, etc was the "fastest car in my H.S." (late 200's), and was the subject of scrutiny and arguments with my parents over it being "way too damn fast".... And was 5sec 0-60 / 13sec 1/4-Mile..😂😂🤣😂 Years later, my...

WHAAAAAAAAAAA..... Have you seen it enough to make a fair-ish guess about how close to "ready to open" it is?

Anyone regret buying the Acceleration Boost for their Model Y?

There are more than just software differences between P and non-P cars. The drive control units, suspension, programming for a couple systems and honestly...who knows what else in minor revisions...are unique. But based on the assumption that the batteries would be identical, but the driving...

Will EV Tax Credits Crater Used Tesla Prices

I'm not so sure it's *just* supply shortages. They simultaneously reported higher profit per unit in Q2. It's just supply & demand for a hot product, probably coupled with institutional intuition about the EV credit coming down the line. They had nothing to lose doing it.

Will EV Tax Credits Crater Used Tesla Prices

I was doing some analysis of the Order Tracker Spreadsheet, and it definitely indicates a deprivation of supply fulfillment in the North/East. If you're Tesla, and *know* that Austin is about to come on-line, why dedicate the extra miles and time/money to ship cars past the middle of the...

Can we manually set the charging speed to a lower rate in a Tesla Wall Connector?

The resistive capacity of the various gauges and carrying-ampacity of systems would cause variations in the efficiency of the charger as a system, but in such a small amount it's hardly worth doing the math. I'd just go with the manufacturer specs for cable/breaker and let the cars battery...

    Pennsylvania Waiting room

Once you complete your delivery can you let me know how it goes there? I was originally set for Cherry Hill, NJ and I've visited the SC in Rockville, MD but having it be an in-state SC is easier and I figured I'd just take a road trip to the Burgh.

Can we manually set the charging speed to a lower rate in a Tesla Wall Connector?

I just offered it as a practical solution for the "problem". He seems more focused on system efficiency, not rate. In all likelihood, the minimal thermal loss from the higher rate of charging would equate to fractions of cents, but I suppose system-efficiency is system-efficiency. 🤷‍♂️

    New Jersey Waiting Room

The Northeast is getting the shaft for supply distribution lately, for sure. I am in Central PA, and when initially ordered I was picking up from Cherry Hill (near family) and it was 5-6 months, but in Pittsburgh (same distance to me, but I get to go to THE ZOO!), it cut about 6 weeks off of...

Can we manually set the charging speed to a lower rate in a Tesla Wall Connector?

If it's a Gen3 charger, I guess you could provision it to think it's on a smaller circuit, and force it to charge at the rate you choose. Basically just lie to it, and make it think it can only do 7.7kW charging?

Anyone regret buying the Acceleration Boost for their Model Y?

The chemistry of batteries basically says: Yes. Rapid discharge is bad, enabling it at least provides the opportunity to be more aggressive about it. If you buy it and never use it..no. The logic behind this is that it's sort of like Toyota allowing Factory superchargers to be installed at the...

2022 Delivery Date for my Model Y

My personal theory is that the MY's in the North/East are going to get a big EDD cut by a month or more, before the end of November. The West Coast gets a bit of a priority due to the Fremont plant being in California. The North/East has been getting longer EDD's and less fulfillment according...

    October 2021 Order Delivery Dates

I think the orders in this thread, and particularly ones placed before the 10/05 $1,000+ bump are going to find themselves in a sweet spot. 3+month EDD's suck, but the stacking benefits of beating the price increases, getting the EV tax credit (provided it gets signed into law in the next few...
