Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I had an incident with 10.12.2 on the freeway that hasn't occurred in a while. On FSD in the car pool lane at 70 mph the car starts aggressively slowing down. The message on the screen says "stopping for traffic control." I pressed the accelerator to over ride until it returned to normal and...
Happens to me frequently also. Less than a mile before a turn it move into the wrong lane with the message "changing lane to follow route." Then it trys to get back and it's not always possible. This has been happening to me on several versions and in the same locations. I report it every time.
As an FSD beta tester I appreciate being part of the development of a revolutionary product that has the potential to change people lives for the better - even save lives. I measure the improvements in the updates by two factors: 1 is how often my wife yells at me to turn it off, and 2 what...
Mechanical fixtures would be too unreliable. It would seem like maybe 2 fixed wide eye cameras on the windshield should cover 180 degrees plus. Anyway, why would a design be approved with blind spots to the left and right of the front of the car? My car creeps halfway into the intersections at...
No one replied so I guess it's unique to me. However, it is back to working fine today. I just hope the climate control doesn't stop working on my trip through the Majave Desert!
Is anyone else have trouble with the climate control on 10.12.2? I have to set the temp at about 65 to get any ac - it's 85 outside. I checked that the settings are on auto. Tried rebooting. No change I noticed this a few days after the update. Not sure if it's related.
I agree. Having a blind spot in front of the car is a really bad and dangerous design. Having to creep into the intersection to see is a disaster waiting to happen. Doesn't that seem obvious?
For me 10.12.2 hasn't improved much. Still drastic slow downs and tapping the brakes for no reasons, moving into the wrong lane less than a mile before a turn, and moving out of the rightmost lane on a divided highway cutting off faster traffic. I don't see what this major release brought except...
Here's some tips:
Drive as much as you can without using AP. Driving with AP on will not count towards your score.
Accelerate slowly, coast to stops, keep a few seconds gap between you and the car ahead of you, turn corners and change lanes slowly. Basically, drive like a little old lady.
If...
Why do other car manufacturer's lane keeping systems not require hands on the steering wheel and nudging it occasionally but Tesla does? I rented a Kia Sportage recently and it did not nag me at all, even with my hands off the wheel for many miles. Also, if I moved the steering wheel enough to...
My car on 10.6.1 started tapping the breaks as it approached intersections again. It did that in 10 5 but went away after I loaded 10.6.1 but now it's back. It happens when approaching a green light at about the point where the non beta fw would require a tap on the stalk to confirm the green...
Drove my M3LR with 10.6.1 prev 10.5 around 50 miles yesterday about half freeway and half city streets. I did not notice any change in freeway driving which has been pretty solid for a while.
Big difference in city driving. Very smooth turns both right and left. No jerky steering at all! Had...
Just installed 10.6.1 from 10.5. I'll test drive it tomorrow. Hoping it stops slowing down for no reason and tapping the brakes so often. It would also be nice if it didn't get into the wrong lane .25 mile before a turn. Does anyone know know of a translation of the release notes? 😆
I know it's a pain but if you reboot after every drive before shifting to park you will save your score. At least reboot if you think something happened that might affect it like a FWC warning, hard braking or turning.
Received 10.5.1 Monday night on my M3LR SS=100. I had 10.3, 10.4 previously. Other than the initial 10.3 phantom braking disaster, I feel 10.5.1 is the worst version. I am pushing the report button every few miles for collision warnings, unnecessary slow down, jerking the steering wheel...
You need to try to get several days of high scores to move your average up. You should try to get 100s to have the most affect. The easiest way is to take a short drive and score 100. Then reboot after every drive that day before you put the car in park. To reboot, just press the two steering...
Not true. Trying to stay 1-3 seconds distance at 50mph+ will truly get you dinged for close following! I improved my score from 96 to 100 so I speak with experience.
2018 M3 LR (with radar)
Rollback downloaded over cellular. Disappeared before I could install it. Brake check once on the freeway at 70mph. I was able to override with the accelerator but scared the sh** out if my wife. ACWs ever few seconds for cars 100s of feet away but not for close cars...
All this hypothesizing is driving me crazy. I wish Tesla would tell us what is going on and what to do. As beta testers we deserve some communication! My car still has 10.3. It slammed the brakes on the freeway at 70mph this morning and constant crash warnings for cars 100ft away. Downgrade...
Download of the downgrade finished while I was driving. Got home to install it but there is no install option on my app or the car. The car still shows FSD Beta 10.3 36.5.2 but I can't engage autopilot or NOA. Reboot didn't change it.
Install complete. No email. I'm gonna sneak out and check that it's real! I feel like a kid on Christmas morning sneaking downstairs to see what Santa brought me! Lol
Thanks. Install is at 80% still no email. I can't believe I'm getting it so early. Although my score is 100, I assumed those with 10 2 would be updated first. Thought that would take s few days.
I doubt their servers can handle a release to everyone all at once. They will probably prioritize those with 10.2 first. I don't expect to get it for at least another week.
A few seconds of that should have minimal impact and can be recovered by following others at a safe distance. I try to make sure I'm about 3-4 seconds behind the car ahead of me.
All I can say is I have been able to get 99 and 100 scores for the past 6 days with by being extremely careful when not in AP and enabling AP whenever possible. It also helps to do the activity that dinged you to improve the % but has to be the day it occurred. The 20% following ding meant that...
Use autopilot as much as you can. Your miles will count but braking, following, turning, and collision warnings won't ding you. Just don't disengage while you're going over 50 and close to the car ahead. Good luck!
