    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Still waiting on VIN ☠️. 4/23 order around 11:45am RN 12154X, still EDD 6/17 to 6/30. Red/Black. I must've been too slow on the click. I'm in the Bay paying with cash too so I was hoping to get the early prioritization everyone was complaining about....

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Tires do not follow the ideal friction force formula. Applying 2x the load (weight) to rubber results in less than 2x the friction. So weight does matter when comparing dissimilar vehicles, just not necessarily more than tire compound, ABS programming, etc.

Aftermarket bucket seat installation, need help

I ended up here because I removed the driver's seat to have it rebuilt and reupholstered with more support, and ended up needing to transport the disconnected seat in the Tesla, with quick bucket seat installation and no wiring. Anyway, here I will record the secret to driving the car without...

Autocross- SCCA EV-X Class vs. SS

What car and software are you running? The car's stability control has sanity checks that trigger when inputs are outside its expected normal range. Ie. if a wheel sensor goes bad, it sees 0 speed on a tire as insane, and disables TC and throws errors. Unfortunately there's only a small window...

    Upgrades that actually worked :)

I agree, my 2019 SR+ had absolutely terminal understeer until I added the rears. Even on MPP's Sport suspension, which helped somewhat. One underappreciated aspect is that the car feels more comfortable with a rear sway bar. With fronts only, minor high spots in the road would roll the car...

    Model 3 Performance Accident

Ahh yeah that'll happen. Sorry about your ego, but I've heard those will grow back :p.

    Model 3 Performance Accident

Were you hurt? If you weren't hurt, then the car correctly determined that airbags weren't required. Airbags are loud, expensive, and can hurt you too.

Turn signal stalk sometimes does not seem to do anything?

Okay so this was eating at me. I think I know what it is: If you do a full press in one direction, then you can cancel it by half-pressing in either direction. HOWEVER If you half-press in the opposite direction as the blinker, then there is a timeout that prevents you from activating that turn...

    Automatic volume increases/decrease

They have it, but it seems to be implemented as a speed -> volume adjustment instead of ambient noise -> volume. So it only works OK, and doesn't adjust for roads of different roughness.

Turn signal stalk sometimes does not seem to do anything?

It's mentioned in the Autopilot section, not the turn-signals section, so it's easy to miss. It also doesn't explain how it immediately stops blinking when withdrawing the stalk, whereas you might expect it to continue on to a 3-blink pattern.

Turn signal stalk sometimes does not seem to do anything?

So I've had what OP described where it only seems to happen _immediately_ after a different signal. Say a right into a parking lot, then immediate left into a cross-alley, and then immediate right into a row of parking spaces. What I realized was there's actually a third turn signal activation...
