I’m having the same problem, even after watch many videos and trying to contact app developer which I’ve had no response for almost three weeks.
I guess it’s a hit or miss kinda thing.
$55,000 - 1) extended warranty till 2031 2) brand new run-flat continental tires $2,000 3) completely automatic hood
I will find out if my free supercharging for life is transferable.
No, it's correct. I purchased an extended warranty to cover large-cost items that may need repair in the future. It is totally transferrable to another owner and expires in July 2031.
Great suggestion, however, I also upgraded to MCU2 as well, several years ago.
I did call Tesla yesterday, their national office, and asked for any suggestions or directions after explaining my situation. They did not have any.
So over the next few days, I will in person go to the Tesla...
Good to know about your remote entry not working in the same place repeatedly. That might offer some reasoning as to why I couldn’t get into my car in Midtown Manhattan and the same exact space.
Yes, I tried the app, but it didn’t work or make any difference at all.
Yeah… that’s correct - I use the key fob exclusively. And yes, I tried persistently to both ion the doors, start the car, summon it, etc. There was no response. I waited around for a while, randomly trying to unlock the car, and about half hour later it allowed me access.
There has to be...
A little more clarity: remote key is a passive press control shaped like a Model X that opens my driver’s door when I approach it.
Hope that helps! If not, I’ll include a pic.
Thanks for your insightful comments!
By the way, card key entry was not available for my 2018 Model X. Over the more than 5 years of ownership, I have only used the suggested option: remote key.
Much appreciated!
Sure!
1. Car needed towing from my garage - it was finally determined that the wiring harness was defective
2. Car would not take a charge - had 50 miles left - turned out to be the charging unit receptacle
3. Could not gain access to my vehicle twice on a busy midtown Manhattan street -...
I'm having serial problems over the last year - each seems to challenge the repair teams at two different service centers...I'm reluctant to travel because of the concern of breaking down...I've had five major problems already...any suggestions? Has Tesla ever met anyone halfway in this...
Hi Stephanie, yes, after a week of trying multiple things, Tesla finally discovered that the charging unit itself was defective. They replaced it for $3,200.
If you need the exact part number I’ll look it up and send it to you.
Hope this helps!😊
Hey Shawn!
Thanks for your suggestions! Yes, I upgraded my MCU a couple of years ago. I did so because I plan on keeping the car for a very long time, as you suggested would be the best option for long-term ownership.
Much appreciated!
Thanks, sir! Appreciate your response. Yes, I tried a hard reset and attempted to charge again, twice.
I drove it to the Tesla Service Center in White Plains, NY, and when they could not get the car to charge, I left it there.
Thanks! There is no doubt of the type of charger I was at. I am totally familiar with all the different types of chargers.
The information in the dashboard is not accurate, clearly linked to the problem of not charging.
Also, I’ve driven since March 2018, all along the east coast from Maine...
I pulled up to a Tesla Supercharger and the car didn’t charge - the dashboard flashed duration times up to 7 hours to charge. I switched charging stations - same result. I rebooted several times - same result. (See attached pic, if possible)
Drive it to a Tesla Service Center in Westchester...
Shawn!
Thanks soooo much for your response! It is appreciated.
I believe my issue was slightly different. The part appeared to simply be defective. At least that’s what I’m told. However, I will take your advice and put mouse traps in the garage in the apartment building where I live here in...
Tesla Service informed me that my harness was defective. This is why the car is totally dead except for one interior light.
Has anyone ever encountered this issue?
Thanks in advance!😊

New York City
Two days ago I went to use my 2018 Model X - 34,000 miles - garaged - and every screen in the car was dead. There were interior lights and headlights but nothing else. I called Tesla - they said my car needed servicing. It was a challenge coordinating many agencies for the next few hours.
The...
Wow! Great idea! I never thought of that! Will definitely give it a try!
Can't tell you how much I appreciate the suggestion!
All the best,
Gary Bowler
Thanks! Yes, that's what I currently do but it is not sufficient. Even when I get out and assist her with the car lowered it is still a challenge. But I really appreciate your response nevertheless!
Best regards,
Gary Bowler
Ha! Ha! That's funny because I used to be a chauffeur for celebrities! And yes, I use the back seat and lower the car for most of my senior relatives. I just recently found out that my biological mother only rides in the front seat of the car! That's why I'm finding these special adjustments for...
Art - very creative idea! Certainly makes sense.
I’ll try both of the suggestions in the thread - really appreciate your thought in this matter!
Best,
Gary
I appreciate your response! I should have been more specific - my apologies. What you described is the normal method utilized. However, on most vehicles there is a overhead handle than can be grabbed to help getting off the seat and out of the car. Since there is nothing to grab, it becomes...
My elderly mother has difficulty exiting the front passenger seat of my Model X.
Does anyone know if any work-arounds for this concern?
Either way, thanks for taking the time to read my request!😊
PROBLEM SOLVED!
Thanks for everyone's input! This morning before I took the usual mass transit to work, I looked at the settings on the car - it was in RATED mode and about 188 miles. I toggled it to IDEAL and the mileage indicated 210! I read up on what they both mean, and decided to keep it...
Hmmm....I do remember playing with those options, and not really understanding at all what they meant.
I'll take a look this evening, and if so, will change it to RATED range.
I'll get back to you and thanks either way! I'll also research what each one means (as I should have done initially!)
Yes, when I set the charge level to 80%, I receive the CHARGE COMPLETE message at 190 miles.
To your second question: when I set it at 80%, it stops at the 80% mark but is only 70%.of the miles.
And yes, previously I would regularly receive 227 miles at 80% in prior weeks.
these are all excellent questions concerning items that I should have included in my request - my apologies.
1. Yes, it stopped at 190 after I received the usual time warnings on my phone.
2. Yes, the charging KW power was the same as it is always
3. I went to a different stall each time
4. Each...
Since this station opened a few months ago, charging my care was very normal. But that changed this weekend - could it be related to the grid load this weekend in New York City?
I've also noticed as well, that once the car powers off there is no power to USB receptacles. I've also used my phone as a Hot Spot and it works well in that capacity.
However, since at this time, I'm not able to initiate a download, I could only leave my phone in the car on a night that I...
