Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I read it to mean they’ll add a lot of additional testers from the people who have requested it and haven’t got it yet AND have a safety score of 99 or 100. But then being a noob with a new Model S I’ve become more interested in what he means.
I’m curious for the updates on the project. In other threads and comments I’ve seen that the wiring between the new headlights and the original refresh ones aren’t compatible. Now, I don’t understand much of this sort of topic but I’m interested because my Model S is headed to the body shop...
should I have received a small shelf to cover the left side cubby? They gave me the missing big cover but it looks like there should be one here. 22 MS LR.
Thanks! I’ll look around for a lawyer in my group of friends. No one comes to mind. It would be great for them to swap the tires and replace the hood. Doubt anything will happen but worth a try.
Well can’t blame me for hoping! 😊 Maybe as a consolation prize the headlights will have a retrofit. But per your advice, I don’t expect it. Just hope for a happy surprise 😉
Here’s why you shouldn’t accept summer tires in an area where it snows. Took delivery a week ago and they said that summer tires are normal for Utah and if I rejected it my order would be canceled. Now I know that’s BS but after 8 months I accepted it. I figured I could put winter tires on...
Pure speculation and wishful thinking here … but maybe they will enable the articulating screen. Just watched Sandy Monroe tear down of the Model S Plaid center screen and the mechanism is there. It just needs the motors (and software) to operate.

The new adaptive headlights are finally approved for the US. Anyone know it they can be retrofitted to an earlier Model S? I just took delivery of one built Jan 27 and if the new lights start shipping and meet US...
That’s what I thought. Yours will come soon. I waited since Jun 1 last year. My EDD was saying May before this happened. I’m just going to confirm delivery and look it over really well.
Hi - I just got a VIN today NF469. What should I do since the VINs people are getting now are 471. Does this mean it was rejected? Should I postpone? I need help from folks.

My friend has been hearing me complain for months. Recently he had a quite specific dream it would be delivered on Mar 27. Or maybe it was a vision. Hmmmm, it would be EOQ….
Thanks! I’ve only lived in Utah for 4 years and I love it. Coming from flat Texas I love seeing the mountains. As for VIN I’m hoping for the same. May is like a placeholder and I’ll get a VIN surprise soon.
Thanks for the write up. I’ve been getting discouraged since my EDD moved out 3 months (May as of now) so I needed to hear your words of encouragement. Your car is beautiful!!! I was trying to decide between red and blue but went with blue. But man, that red is really pretty.
Thanks for the picture of the MS with the 19” wheels with the aero caps off. I’ve ordered the Blue color and have been wondering if I should get the wheels powder coated to be matte black to go better with all the trim. Any thoughts?
How do the wheels look without the covers? I haven’t found a good picture of the MS 19” with the covers off. From what I have seen if I wanted to run them “raw” I think I would want to powder coat them. Anyone else with 19” - do you like the wheels without the covers?
Seeing my January EDD coming I changed my profile to Loan from Cash and got approved. Now my date is May. I’m going to go back to Cash. Now this might be just an urban legend but how else to explain what seems to be unexplainable.
That’s my config and went from February to May 10 to June 7. RN1150 Seeing your post I guess I should feel lucky but I only feel sad for both of us. At least we are likely to get the new lights though that’s cold comfort after waiting so long. I guess a lot of people have been / still are...
Just changed from Jan 18 - Feb 14 to generic “February 2022” My partner has said March for a long time. I suspect he is right. I hate when he is right.
I got a text today from someone introducing themself as my delivery specialist. What does it mean? Still no VIN and EDD Jan 12 - Feb 7.
Is a VIN and delivery date coming soon?
I thought if you rejected it you’d get one of the next ones available. Why would you be put back in line for Spring? This will be my first Tesla and this worries me if it works like that.
I just went from Dec 6-23 to Jan 18 - Feb 21. June 1 order 1150. Blue/white/19. And here I was reading some posts and thinking maybe they’ll call me in November and deliver early. Doh, I’m a blockhead. Oh well, at least I’ll get a 2022.
Can we get a tax credit on the Model S? I thought it only applied to sedans under a certain price - even the M3 performance costs too much to qualify with the price increases. But truthfully, I haven’t read what has changed to the EV tax credit for a couple weeks.
Glad to see some LR Blue/White/19’s delivered. That’s my config, ordered June 1. Do I dare have any hope? Nah, better keep the expectations down. Still….
Is anyone taking delivery on any blue LR’s? This is my first ever Tesla so not sure how they schedule the different colors in the factory. My order is RN1150, June 1, M3LR/Blue/WH/19. My EDD is Dec 9-31. It was in Nov once but mostly December. From what I’m reading it seems they only have...
