Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I went to scope out my Delivery Center looking for my car - and found it! Looks great and can’t wait to pick it up tomorrow. For those interested, I saw probably 5-6 plaids, and 5-6 LRs on the lot waiting for delivery. Lots of different exterior options (colors and wheels) but over half of them...
So, I had some time this morning between kid drop off and my work schedule so I went to go snoop around for my car. I was told it was was set for 12/1 delivery and my pickup is set for 12/3 at 1:00. I thought there was a chance it might be on the lot waiting to go in for cleaning. Also, I’ve...
I’ve got my delivery set for this Friday, and have set up all my final payment info via plaid, but have not hit submit yet. I’ve emailed my SC to confirm they’re ok with it, but have any of you waited to submit the ACH plaid payment at delivery and not prior like Tesla is asking?
I don’t know how much I’m buying into this… I don’t know my born on date, but I got a MF 455 VIN on 11/15 and it all says 2021. I’m not expecting to see 2022 on my car info when I get the docs later this week.
Update: I emailed the Charlotte SC directly and they quickly got back to me and confirmed my car will arrive on 12/1 and scheduled my delivery for Friday at 1:00. figure I’ll go ahead and block off the whole afternoon for pick up and driving around!
Well, I’ve entered my EDD for the 3rd time today. Let’s see if I actually get an appointment scheduled or if they push me back further. I want to be optimistic here, but I’m fully expecting some EDD update later this morning.
For what it’s worth, I’ve been told mine has left Fremont and was on a train. Who knows??
I just need delivery before leaving the country on 12/8. Getting pretty close!
there must be something going on with my car… my SA told me it should be delivered on 11/25, then 11/29, now 11/30. I would think I’d be close enough to schedule a delivery, but no one will let me do that. Thinking I may pop over to the SC on Monday to see if anyone can see delivery details...
EDD bumped to 11/28-12/4. But still in line with what my SA has told me. Car should hit the SC soon, then a few days to prep, and get it sometime early next week. Hopefully anyways! Good luck to all the deliveries this week!
Just spoke to someone who is now telling me the car is showing to be delivered at the SC on 11/29, not 11/25, and to expect delivery sometime next week. They really just have no idea what’s actually happening. Supposedly on a train to Birmingham right now.
I’m now in the next phase of waiting… when will I actually schedule my delivery…. EDD 11/23-11/29. Supposedly to be delivered at SC on 11/25. It’s always something.
for those with the updated APP, my car is built and on a train somewhere and my app says the same default “We’re building your car” message, so I think it may be more of a generic default message than a true indication of progress.
So, for anyone wondering, there is a lot of flexibility with changing the payment details post VIN assignment. I’ve worked with my SA to change from cash to financing, rework my loan amount figures to fit my desired payments, and toggled back and forth with removing my trade in to confirm I’m...
I agree. This makes a lot of sense logistically. Give yourself more margin for error with longer deliveries and get them out with 4-6 weeks before EOQ deadline. You don’t need that much to deliver along the west coast.
This is a good point! Although, if I’ve done my math right, I think I would still clear an extra $2500 taking their offer. I completely forgot about the offset for tax basis when trading in.
Just priced this out and can confirm. Tesla is offering me $31,500 for my car, which I thought was pretty generous. Now that my delivery is coming up I got a quote from Carvana and it’s close to $35,000. Had I known my car would have increased so much in value during my wait, I might have...
I installed my wall connector about a month ago and my electrician was telling me the same thing. He’s been buying up as much gear as he can, but like everywhere else, the supply chain is tight. Even just obtaining enough wire is tough.
Just had my SA switch my order from “cash” to “financing”. Super easy. He opened the portal, I applied, and got approved all within about 20 minutes real time.
So, I’ve got an email out to my usual SA but he typically takes 24 hours to respond to me. In the meantime, I went online and chatted with someone (Neel) who looked up my order and said that he sees my account has, in fact, been assigned a VIN. He was not able to provide it to me or confirm a...
Ok @Pdubs now that my EDD is officially in the first week of December, when we assume the 60 day window post 2022 VIN filing will be in December, I really think I might defer my car until I get a ‘22 in January. Especially since I’m sure the delivery is going to be so tricky in December. I’m out...
Well, there’s the update. Pushed back to 12/1-12/15… pretty bummed out, but not unexpected. Those dates are terrible for me though, so I’m really expecting this to now get pushed to January due to my crazy travel schedule.
Whelp… after a bunch of refreshing and constantly checking my phone today, I’m right where I started. Assuming no updates tomorrow I’ll be calling my SA to see what’s up. With so much good news flowing around, I’ve got to get a little bit myself!
Alright… tomorrow is the first day of my EDD. Seems like a lot of folks on here with the late November EDD got VINs this weekend. Anyone else in the 11/15-11/30 range still waiting on a VIN or am I just the lucky one?
Well, I’m full expecting to be lumped into this group. That said, these dates would work really well for me! I would think moving to a 10-day window is a good sign of things firming up.
