New inventory discount vs New order

Not quite that easy for me. I have to take delivery 350 miles away in Kansas City.

New inventory discount vs New order

This was exactly my fear. I was very close to putting a deposit on a MY LR white/white that was discounted 4k, but I just couldn't do it. I kept thinking there has to be a reason it's discounted that much. "Is it hardware 3 or 4?" This is going to be number one question at resale in the future.

Tesla Noob -- What to consider before ordering a Model Y?

I've never considered a vehicle that has so many idiosyncrasies and huge pros/cons. I'll list my concerns: 1)No spare tire. I will be driving 200 miles round trip in rural Oklahoma on a regular basis. I must have a spare. I've done some research and may order one and keep it in garage and...

Another round of Tesla price bumps [Nov 2021]

I was seriously considering ordering a MY about 3 months ago. Even at about $55k it was going to be a stretch. Then I decided to wait because of the infrastructure Bill. Now Tesla has raised the price about $3k. I'm kind of over it. When/if the Bill passes all of your cars are going to be...

Tesla EV Tax Credits coming back?

If a bill passes with a point-of-sale tax credit, all Tesla will need to know is how much you made last year. Last I read, anyone making over $400k individual or $800k jointly will be ineligible. At least I assume Tesla needs to know. Not sure how it would work exactly. Maybe you pay whatever...

Tesla EV Tax Credits coming back?

This is an interesting question. We are so deep in the unknown right now that everything is anyone's guess. I think that once the bill passes (and has a start date of January 1, '22) there's a possibility that many, many people will pause their orders. So many that Tesla may have to reduce...

    Considering a Model Y

As the OP, I really want to thank everyone for your responses. You've all been kind and thoughtful to someone who's trying to decide if the MY is the right choice. I'm waiting to see what happens with the Reconciliation Bill. Then, I'll have a better idea of what the real cost will be. And...

    Considering a Model Y

Yes. The current used car market is one of the reasons I'm considering a MY. I also think I was a little off on the current "inflation" of my Mazda. It's probably $7k over valued because of the current market. The glass roof is still a sore spot for me. I'm actually going by personal experience...

    Considering a Model Y

My primary concern with an EV is the ability to drive 100 miles (on 100% charge) from home and then back again with out having to worry if I'll make it home. This is with driving normal highway speeds of 65-75 mph.

    Considering a Model Y

This is my situation 😆 I park outside for work 10+ hrs per day and a shade will be a must for me.

    Considering a Model Y

I'm probably in the same situation many are in. I have a perfectly good car that I bought new: 2017 Mazda CX-5 GT/ AWD, with every option, perfectly maintained with 48k miles. With the current vehicle shortage my Mazda is probably worth $3-5k more than it would be under normal circumstances...

There are no words - Irresponsible driver crashes Model Y into building

Those kids should have licenses revoked and not get them back until they're 25. Oh, and fines. They should have to pay lots of fines.

Does the gov consider the day you put down $100 as your order date?

I'm in a similar situation. I've been wanting to order MY but I'm afraid I'll miss out on a rebate, depending on how the Bill is structured.
