Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I ordered by Model Y in August for a 3 year lease. I took delivery in December (I was one of the lucky ones), and now, looking at the queues get longer, I’m wondering how long I have to wait before I get in line again. I wouldn’t be surprised if I have to get back in line by this time next...
I took my first road trip with my 2022 Model Y which I‘ve had for 6 weeks. I went from NJ to Vermont. Along the way, I heard an occasional ”bang” sound from beneath my feet, where I assume the batteries are. Is this common? I think I heard it once while at a Super Charger in Albany too...
I had trunk kick on my BMW X1, which my MYLR replaced. The trunk kick only worked about 60% of the time. I could never figure out why and never took it in for service.
When it worked, it was handy.
I picked up my MYLR from Paramus on Monday. I still have temp plates. I should get the permanent plates by Jan 10th.
The dealer also gave me the mounting bracket for the front plate for self-install. (Their service center is closed from the flash flooding damage in September, so they only...
I have accepted delivery of my Model Y today!!! The delivery process was easy. I have a local Service Center / Show Room a few miles from my house. This is the Paramus, NJ location that sustained damage in September due to flash flooding in the area. The Service Center still isn't...
The August Order thread was busy yesterday, and busier than this tread recently. Mostly due to flurry of VIN two weeks ago and a bunch of EDD pushes last week. But I agree, this thread has been strangely quiet.
Crazy that this happens. I wonder why Tesla is so wild with their predictions. Do they purposely want to put us on this emotional roller-coaster? Good luck with your delivery!!!
In the August thread, it seems like some of those pushed way out a week ago, have been brought back in and have VINs. You may still luck out and not have to wait until Feb/March.
So I got my VIN a week ago. I made my downpayment (for lease) and uploaded my insurance info. I also see that I need to "Review Agreements". The only doc attached to that section are Payment Instructions, which I reviewed, but the section still isn't marked as complete. I suspect more...
Got my VIN last night!!! Apparently, I now have to pay my down payment (lease) and also have to provide insurance docs before I set a delivery date. To pay the downpayment, Tesla is pushing me use their app. They have some financial linkage via something called Plaid, but it’s not working for...

Me too. Inching closer. Actually, I now feel confident I will get the car before the EOY. I was a little worried that bring on the east coast, they would prioritize west cost deliveries for EOY. Seems like Santa will deliver the goods.
I still have my EDD. I actually think what you're seeing is a good sign. 6 weeks ago, I lost my EDD for a few weeks. It came back virtually the same before it disappeared.
The EDD gods giveth and taketh away. This time they giveth and I was moved in to Dec 15-31. We’ll see if it holds - it probably wont. Also, the 16 day window is unique.
More EDD whiplash. I was moved up to December!!! Excited, but I know it won’t last. I had been in Jan-Feb for two weeks, and expect to land there again.
Well, I'm past the 60 day waiting mark, and according to my EDD, I'm still not halfway there. I think I've grown numb. I'm not checking these boards as often, I haven't scheduled the electrical work for the home charger, I stopped shopping for accessories. I need a new hobby.
Generally, a range narrowing when you're close is a good sign. My range narrowed to 15 days, which appears to be an anomaly as I haven't seen anyone with a 15 day range. Given mine EDD range is still 2 months out, I don't think my range is indicative of anything.
Well, today I was moved up by 4-6 weeks. Also, very strange, I have a 15 day window - the narrowest yet. I've seen others with new windows of 28 days. Tesla's EDD algorithm is wacky. I'd be very happy to take delivery in December.

How about February?? ;-)
Actually, I don't care that much about which battery or even model year. I'll be leasing my Model Y as we seem to be very steep on the learning curve and expect much better variants of EVs over the next decade - that's my bet anyway. I'll probably look to buy once...
I got pushed back to 1/13 - 2/10. (Was solely in December for 2 weeks). Feb 10 would be 178 days from OD. Yikes. Chip shortages, supply chain issues - who knows. Let’s hope this is an anomaly and I’ll be moved closer.
