    Supercharger - Oxford, AL

This is an excellent location... midway between Atlanta and Birmingham on the heavily traveled I-20 corridor. A very nice one for me personally when visiting friends and family in this part of AL.

    Awesome. Great work!

    Supercharger - Bristol, TN

I stopped in yesterday (Sunday, June 18th)... the chargers work but I could only register 140 mph... my car was at approximately 80% full though, so it may have been charging more slowly. Anyway, it appears to be working!!!

    Supercharger - Bristol, TN

When the Pinnacle was being developed, there was a potentially competing development happening at the intersection of I-81 and I-26 in Kingsport. This was referred to as Heritage Point... my understanding was that the developers thought they had Bass Pro lined up, only to lose them to the...

Great on Meadowview! Best hotel in the area, I'm sure there will be visitors who will appreciate that on their stay. Any thoughts in JC? The Carnegie?

    Supercharger - Bristol, TN

Excellent! This site has been on Tesla's "Coming Soon" map for almost 2 years... I live 10 miles away so I'll keep an eye on it. Definitely needed, and the Pinnacle is an absolutely perfect location. Here's a store directory Store Directory | The Pinnacle Tons of food options (fast food...

    Supercharger - Wytheville, VA

I'd guess the Pinnacle shopping center where I-81 and US-11 intersect. The property straddles the TN / VA border. There is a Bass Pro, movie theater, CarMax, 20 or so stores and half a dozen restaurants. Would be absolutely perfect as far as location and amenities.

    Supercharger - Asheville, NC

There are more options in the lot (Waffle House, McDonalds, Taco Bell), but yeah, I'd expect more restaurants to be opening in the near future. It's a great place for the superchargers though... should fill in a lot of gaps for people on both I-26 and I-40

I know... the electrons will just spill all over the place

    Supercharger - Asheville, NC

Agreed. Obviously I love the Brown (I get a ton of compliments on the color), Green was my second choice. I did see a brand-new 90D in Knoxville over the weekend in the new Titanium Metallic... more champagne colored in real life. It was gorgeous!

    Supercharger - Wytheville, VA

Has anyone seen any permitting information yet? I'd imagine The Pinnacle shopping development if in Bristol (Its a new development with Bass Pro, Belk, a great movie theater and a ton of chain restaurants either open or under construction). The one drawback to that is its 15 miles or so from...

I was there... I had the Brown Model S just behind the ribbon. Great turnout!

    Model S with an exhaust??

Quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Outside of creating buzz for his company's re-purposing of Fisker Karmas, nobody in their right mind would want an ICE model S. I don't even think it would be possible without extensive changes to the frame / structure of the car.

North Carolina EV Road Use Tax

As much as everyone hates taxes, income must come from somewhere. In this case, infrastructure needs maintenance, etc. Currently most of our roads are paid for and maintained by fuel taxes. Every gallon of gas carries a $.56 (56 cent) tax in NC. Figure a person drives 12,000 miles per year...

    It arrived!!!

I went with an S85 brown / tan with matte obeche / fog lights / parking sensors / tech package / upgraded sound. No regrets. I don't care for sunroofs, so that was an easy omission for me. And, yes, that is an eMac. Old school.

    It arrived!!!

The mustang is my dad's... We live in a much nicer climate than he does so he shipped it to me a couple of years ago. I'm more conservative with colors / clothes / etc... (as conservative as one can be if they buy a Tesla, I suppose), but I can see your point. They would look good together.

    It arrived!!!

After 9 weeks of waiting, worrying, incessantly reading forums, etc my S85 arrived in pristine condition last evening. I had watched all of the "getting ready" videos, so I felt pretty good about getting started. With the kids visiting Chuck E Cheese with the sitter, my wife and I were free to...

New poll: How to get to 100% EV in your household?

Similar situation to efusco. Being 100% would be very doable on either coast, but here (NE TN) it would be nearly impossible. As it stands now I won't be able to visit family in AL until 2015 with my Model S (Knoxville and Chattanooga are pretty late in line for Superchargers). Until...

December / Late December delivery (2013) VINs?

Nice. Looks identical save the pano roof. I debated the roof a lot, but in the end decided to go with the solid color. My last car was a BMW 550i GT with a very similar huge sunroof. It was really cool, but I absolutely never used it as I'm a bit of a vampire and don't like the sun shining...

OK, finally took the plunge--"late November" delivery

You got essentially the same car as my order (except mine is brown without the pano roof and with matte obeche)... expected delivery next week. Glad to hear about the positive performance of the non-P model... my test drive was also with a P85, and while it was easy to not spend the extra $$$...

A Tesla Christmas Story and a Thank You

Awesome. That is such a great story. As the father of a 5 year old, I must admit to being a little misty eyed. Enjoy your car, but even more so your wonderful family!

    Depreciation / resale value

Tesla is offering guaranteed buy back at 3 years for approximately 50% if you finance with one of their partners. I passed on this, as I think resale will be higher, especially with 85s and their unlimited mileage, 8 year battery warranty. I can envision a very active secondary market for...

Only 17 days from scheduled delivery but still not in production

Ordered and confirmed on 10/25, scheduled for deliver on 12/19. Dashboard says "sourcing parts". Communicated with DS today who confirmed it is still in pre-production, and warned we may end up being a week or so late. He did emphasize that it would be delivered before the new year for tax...

The Tesla Factory is now building your Model S....what are the process stages ?

Brown 85, VIN 26879. Our cars will be able to chat while being assembled. I have a Delivery date of Dec. 19th (through Marietta, GA). Mine still says "sourcing parts" as of 11/26.

    Trade in - very disappointing

I ended up using a private trade-in company through Chicago that Tesla hooked me up with. Price was a little less than KBB, but it was a relatively expensive car (BMW 550i GT), so I didn't feel comfortable selling it privately. Additionally, I wanted to make sure it was listed as a trade-in...

Ordered 60kw and having some doubts now.

Agreed completely. I went for the S85, figuring the above was easily worth 10K to me. If money was no object, I'd have gone for the P85+, but fact is I don't drive my cars really fast or in high performance modes very often. Aside from showing off and scaring my passengers, it just wasn't...

    The Wait

She loves her Pilot, but I have no doubts that a Model X will be hers within 2 years. She hung with the kids while I went shopping and took a test drive in Chicago, so she's never seen, much less driven the model S. I have a feeling she's not going to lover her Pilot so much after delivery.

    The Wait

Depending on which city, I've found some. Kingsport (where we live) has free public chargers in the downtown parking garage (parking is free too!). Not useful for me as we live 5 minutes away, but for someone visiting it would be very good to know. http://www.plugshare.com/ seems like a...

    The Wait

So, after driving my wife nuts for the lat 3 weeks, I decided to register to commiserate with others who are there or have been there. On October 25th I pulled the trigger on my Model S. S85, Brown, Tan Leather, Obeche (matte), 19" wheels, Tech, Fog Lights, Parking Sensors, Studio Sound. I...
