Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Saturday maybe, but not 100%, maybe 90%, who the hell stays til 100% at a DCFC. We are charged the double here in Quebec when you stay at a DCFC at 90 or more which is great cause nobody is blocking for no reason.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

    I had 190kw on a 500amps dc fast charger.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Yes it was with the official Tesla CCS1 adapter. No it wasn't hot at all. I mean, the carging protocol passes by the CCS chip so the car is aware it is charging CCS by an adapter. If there were any problem, the car would slow the charging down.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Ok so I tried a 500 amps 350kw charger. Peak power: 191kw (188kw in the battery) 11% to 51% in 11 minutes on my LR Performance 2018.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Petro-Canada are having DC fast Chargers at every 100-200km along the Transcanadian Highway. They price in Quebec is 0.20$/minute and in other provinces 0.33$/minute. Compared to Tesla it is really cheaper. Tesla is at 1.85$/minute for power over 180kw and 1.35$/minute for charging between 100kw...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Petro-Canada seem to have 350 amps chargers. The only one I know that can output 500 amps is the Circuit Électrique one in Laval. I am goona test this one out this weekend

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

It took 2 weeks. Yes you need to give your original Tesla login because it's 1 adapter by VIN.
  19. J

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

It is clearly more than 300 amps. Charge screen of Electrify Canada on my Model 3.
  20. J

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

I ordered in by Harum.io You need to give your account info because it is only one adapter by account.
  22. J

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

The Tesla CCS adapter is supposee to be 300 amps but I'm sure it goes more around 350 amps and maybe more with a hot battery. It was 1°C (34°F) when I did the test.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

So I bought a used ECU Gen 4 from a totalled car and the harness bundle from FalconFour and now my 2018 Model 3 is CCS Activated and it works with the CCS1 adapter I bought from Tesla Korea. Very Simple to do and it only cost me 140$ to do the retrofit!

  28. J

    Supercharger - Saint Liboire, QC

Yes the 4 middle ones are not working. Problem is that the display in the car shows that the 12 stalls are available when there are only 8 available actually.

  37. J

    Supercharger - Saint Liboire, QC

People working at Hydro-Quebec really don't like when we say they are slow and that we are waiting too much because of them but that's the reality. When we compare with other provinces, we clearly see that Hydro-Quebec is slow AF.
