How pervasive is the HVAC “smell” issue in the PNW?

Yes. It's bad. Is there a way to have the HVAC system do this running of the vents without AC after leaving the car? I would think this would be an easy software add-on.

My Model Y smells, does it happen to yours?

No, it does not. I have another service appointment after Thanksgiving. Lets see what they say. They installed the 2 new air filters and it did help for a month and a half. Now the smell is back. It's worse during a rain, but now water is entering the intake duct from the hood. It's really...

My Model Y smells, does it happen to yours?

I saw this. If you see, he did a nice job also showing that the Model Y has a better architecture under the hood where the air intake is "hidden" from possible rain water thanks to the large HEPA filter assembly for bio mode. So the moisture is coming from somewhere else. I'm guessing the...

My Model Y smells, does it happen to yours?

Totally agree sir. We should not need to run the vents with AC off and on high at our destination or before arriving. This is obviously a design flaw that the SC skirts around whenever I ask about it. In the 2 years I've had mine since 2021, Tesla replaced the filters 3 times and cleaned out the...

    Slacker Radio Access

    🤦🏻‍♂️

Tesla service, what a joke!! Extremely frustrated.

Be careful. That stuff rarely works if it’s not a clean nail/bolt type of hole. I’m looking into modern-spare. It’s $400, but may be worth a ton of headache.

Tesla service, what a joke!! Extremely frustrated.

All this has me freaked out. I just ordered a pair of good year P1 (OEM for model Y LR) at $182 each from Tire Rack. I’ll keep them covered in my garage for when, and if, the time comes. Worst case I’ll just need to buy 2 more if doing a 4 tire replacement down the road. I’m not waiting 2 weeks...

Setting both sides of AC to go on

    Thanks for trying though.

Car behind me not showing on screen

I know your post is pretty old, but I’m getting the same thing. Only the vehicle directly behind me does not show. Weird.

    New owner!

Thanks! Do you mean the Acceleration Boost for $2000? I may add that download later. So cool that it's available. I assume it's just a software download? I used to have a 2014 Mustang GT 5.0, and this Model Y is faster! Amazing. I can only imagine with the boost upgrade!

    New owner!

I know man. I already had a slight encounter with a curb this morning. It’s very minimal, but I’ll have to be extra careful with these.

    New owner!

I'm new to this forum and so happy to see other Tesla owners sharing their experiences. I'm the new happy owner of a 2021 Midnight Blue Model Y Long Range. It will actually be 2 weeks tomorrow. Took 80 days from order to delivery. Happy I added the Induction rims as I'm not super concerned with...

Setting both sides of AC to go on

Like you said, I'd rather just use that screen if it's really that bad. Thanks.

Setting both sides of AC to go on

Cool ventilated seats would be the best!

Setting both sides of AC to go on

Forgive me. . . I was not serious about the box. It's all good man. I love my new Tesla Model Y.

Setting both sides of AC to go on

I tried holding down the passenger vents on the screen. Nothing. I see no way around this except leaving a heavy box on the passenger seat when I drive alone. This update makes no sense at all from an energy savings standpoint.

Setting both sides of AC to go on

I thought it did not matter what year your vehicle was since software updates occur across all similar models. Thus, you should have that new passenger detection that activates the AC vent on that side. Or am I off?

Setting both sides of AC to go on

So it appears from another post that Tesla launched a new update (in the name of more efficiency) in 2020, that shuts off the passenger vents when only the driver is in the car. It sounds like the increase of efficiency is minimal. I feel that the climate control would blow colder and higher...

    HVAC Vents when no passenger

I just posted a similar question along with another. Hard to believe that there are no solves for this. In south Florida, this is a much needed feature.

Setting both sides of AC to go on

Hello! This is my first post. I am going on my second week with a 2021 Model Y (LR). I am really enjoying it and I love all the information on this forum. Please forgive me for this question, but I could not find it anywhere in the manual or online. Is there a way or a setting that allows both...

Anyone regret buying the Acceleration Boost for their Model Y?

I’ll need to get over the large down payment I just plunked on my new MY LR. I’m sure it’s a cool upgrade to an already pretty quick car. I see myself getting it in the near future. Good luck!
