New Tesla APP 4.x. Released for iOS and Android

I agree that this app does need a bit of work as it's very unlike the usability of the old app. While the older look was a bit outdated, it worked and worked well. I hate that with this new app, you can't always tell when you are connected to your phone, and everything seems a bit slow. I really...

New Tesla APP 4.x. Released for iOS and Android

Today, Tesla updated their iOS app with a major re-design of the entire app interface! Attached is a screenshot of the new home screen. You can go ahead and download the app via the App Store and experience it for yourself. There are new animations, controls, and a re-designed interface for...

2021 Tesla Model S Refresh Roof Rack Installation Nightmare!

Update: Took it in today to my SC and they are going to replace the glass for free this Thursday. The foreman saw that there was clearly an alignment issue and suggested that users check this before trying to install as it obviously could cause problems.

2021 Tesla Model S Refresh Roof Rack Installation Nightmare!

They quoted just over $1,000 for a replacement for insurance, but as this was a panel alignment issue, I'm going to see what they say before filing a claim.

2021 Tesla Model S Refresh Roof Rack Installation Nightmare!

Yes. If you take a look at the directions though, that small 1.07mm is a big difference between you being able to fit the plastic and metal piece into the gap vs not.

2021 Model S Door Handle Position (Not Coming Out Far Enough) Issues Impacting Light Pipe

This is correct. They don't illuminate the ground, that is what the doors do when you open the door. The handles just illuminate where you are to grab the handle and where the handle should be when looking for it in the dark.

2021 Tesla Model S Refresh Roof Rack Installation Nightmare!

The last Model S that I owned was purchased in 2018 with the sunroof, so the roof rack installation was pretty straightforward with the tabs being on the side of the car, separate from the glass. With this new Model S, I was curious to see how this new glass roof installation would be. I called...

2021+ Model S and Model S Plaid Refresh Issues Thread

I had the issue with the stability, auto steer, regenerative braking, and traction control all disabled. Did they inform you of what was wrong? They've had my car for about three days and have been troubleshooting, but have zero clues as to what is causing this issue.

    Wiki 2021+ Model S Refresh - Missing/Incomplete Software Features

Remember, this software that we are running was never meant to really be released for the Model S refreshed version. That is why there are so many missing features that have yet to be added, and so many features that should be there, but need to be placed back into the UI. When we see v11, we'll...

No option to undo save location for auto mirror folding

When the mirrors auto folds in at the location that you set, press the fold button again and a menu option right below it should appear to cancel it out. I was having this issue as well but finally figured that solution out.

    Wiki 2021+ Model S Refresh - Missing/Incomplete Software Features

This update has not been released to anyone just yet. If you look at TeslaFi, you can keep track of when vehicles are getting updates. When this update is released, expect bug fixes, and for a lot of the missing features to be introduced in v11. Do expect, though, for refreshed vehicles to be...

    Wiki 2021+ Model S Refresh - Missing/Incomplete Software Features

If you wish to see your manual, it's always available under your Tesla account. This is just a small bug, but should you need to access the manual it's always on your account under your car details.

    Wiki 2021+ Model S Refresh - Missing/Incomplete Software Features

That’s the feeling I’m getting with these updates. Typically when companies do this, a release of the next major version is about to come. So, while this may be a bad thing for current owners who are wanting more, it actually is a good thing because we may be getting something bigger VERY soon :)

Model S (Refresh) v11 Firmware Wishlist

To me, this seems a bit inefficient, given they could have their own profile which wouldn't affect anything else. If I created profiles for the five people that regularly travel in my passenger seat, that's five different profiles I would have to switch from which is just too much. This process...

Model S (Refresh) v11 Firmware Wishlist

I totally agree with you! v10 looks like it really wasn't meant to be used on these new cars and what's really going to bring all these new features is v11. Hopefully, there's not too long of a wait!

Model S (Refresh) v11 Firmware Wishlist

I was more referring to an actual profile for the passenger. Having to pair their settings with your kind of defeats the purpose for me.

Model S (Refresh) v11 Firmware Wishlist

What features would you like Tesla to add in the upcoming and very anticipated v11 firmware update for the new 2021 Model S? One feature that I’d love to see come to the new Model S is to have different profiles for passengers sitting in the front passenger seat (air conditioning settings, seat...

    Wiki 2021+ Model S Refresh - Missing/Incomplete Software Features

I was under the impression that users would at least have the ability to control the hold feature that is new for these vehicles. The regenerative braking now works up until 0mph to which the hold feature then activates, making it almost completely unnecessary to use the brake for most of your...

    Wiki 2021+ Model S Refresh - Missing/Incomplete Software Features

I think everyone needs to remember that v10 was never intended for the refreshed X/S vehicles. v11 will bring a lot of the features that we saw for these models and will truly take advantage of the processing power and new hardware that we have in these cars. I completely agree! The Yoke can be...

2021+ Model S and Model S Plaid Refresh Issues Thread

The haptic feedback is very very subtle. I wish Tesla would make it a bit stronger so that we could really get a sense of when a button is being activated. It’s not going to be like the feedback we get on our iPhone or Android devices (yet). Hopefully this potential issue is sent over to their...

new 2021 Model S - can you install a ski rack?

I’m going to go into my local SC and get a straight answer from my SA, which always seems to keep up to date on the latest releases. I’ll come back with more news on this.

2021+ Model S and Model S Plaid Refresh Issues Thread

Yes! I personally use Nikola and it gives a small breakdown of how much energy is being used, but nothing like what we had before on the UI placed in the dash or on the main display. Hopefully it comes back!

2021+ Model S and Model S Plaid Refresh Issues Thread

I have applied for it, but have yet to get in. Given these cars already have issues, I doubt any of them will be getting the beta of this until the major kinks are worked out.

    5G Connectivity

So far, it’s clear that it’s LTE, but I noticed that coverage is a lot better. I do however notice that despite their being more bars consistently, that there’s still quite a few dropouts with Spotify when playing music. Hopefully this improves in the near future, because it’s extremely...

    Wiki 2021+ Model S Refresh - Missing/Incomplete Software Features

I agree with this completely. There’s a few things that we had before and that are present in the UI on the M3 and MY, but aren’t on the MS. I see a v11 update coming very soon bringing some of the features that we are missing coming back. Some other missing items are controls for regenerative...

2021+ Model S and Model S Plaid Refresh Issues Thread

So far, after going throughout the entire menu system, I cannot find any sort of data breakdown of the energy being used like we saw before. There’s not even a history available on the dash. I sure do hope that we get something like what we had before, on this new menu system so that we can see...

Model S 2021 Refresh Computer Issues

This actually worked, but I had to do it twice before the car started to act normal. Autopilot still shuts off randomly for no reason, so I’ll have to figure out what that is all about, but all other functions have returned to normal.

Model S 2021 Refresh Computer Issues

Model S 2021 Refresh Computer Issues

I picked up my new LRMS yesterday and since then have had quite a few issues regarding autopilot and the ”smart“ functions of the vehicle (regenerative braking, lane keep assist, traction control, etc). I installed an update and it seemed to have fixed the issue, but just today, after starting...

new 2021 Model S - can you install a ski rack?

I can tell you that it definitely does not have a ski rack mount. I was a bit disappointed by this, but because the top is all glass, you can use the newer suction mounted racks that work just as good :) Hope this answer helped!

Model S Delivery Hold Week of July 19 2021

I just spoke with my SA today, and he explained to me that it’s a software or firmware issue, and that the factory and development team up in Fremont have yet to push it to the cars. I’m thinking that this batch of Model S vehicles was made differently with regards to the chips and Tesla is...

Model S Delivery Hold Week of July 19 2021

They could also be holding shipments out due to limited space. SC's typically don't have a lot of extra space to house new cars on top of the cars that are there to be worked on and also possible loaner vehicles. Hopefully, that's the case, and we aren't dealing with a major production line...
