I like the idea about Tesla marking the breakers in some way that makes them less desirable on the black market. There is also a restraining bolt on these breakers that they may want to change to a tamperproof bolt. The funny thing is that these aren't high demand breakers so the aftermarket...

They aren't stealing the copper cable. The small amount in the switchboard isn't worth the nice shock they would get. They do know what they are doing however. Must be somebody with an electrical background

I mentioned in another thread about 6 weeks ago on something coming to Sacramento city proper. No good clue where yet but it is going to be a larger than normal site. Just thinking out loud, something at the Natomas marketplace or another shopping center off Truxel would make the most sense...

If any of you sleuths want to sniff around Sacramento, I have heard that a large site is close to happening... like construction pending. No idea of exact location but supposedly in city limits.

At Tesla its a top priority, not sure about the City of Barstow or the utility... that's the hang-up normally.

I have it on good authority that Barstow enlargement/bulletproofing is being super-expedited. Orders from the top!

John F, please do yourself a favor and replace the Zinsco panel. I see where most electricians get replacement breakers for them and its not pretty. The breakers just don't trip. Its like putting a nail in a fuse holder. A 3 alarm fire waiting to happen.

As regards the Bass Pro shop in San Jose. I know they are looking for something on the 85 corridor but the Almaden/85 interchange area is REALLY congested. They know that too. It has been improved a bit since Bass went in, but still bad. That being said... never say never!

With all the northeast people complaining about range loss with the cold, someone should sniff around Watertown NY for permits. I am sure there wont be anything moving until the ground thaws though.

Looks like Tesla is looking for a shop foreman for Dublin on simplyhired.com. I also have heard that this site will get a supercharger at the same time. The Chrysler Dealership makes a lot of sense.

I will go with the museum in Mt View. Makes the most sense for parking. As far as Tesla HQ...ever been there? Its off the beaten path and there is no parking available. You can drive around the lot looking forever. And no street parking. For that one down by 85... They are putting in a Bass Pro...

it is my understanding that Socal will have a few more in the near future. Kind of jealous being a Norcal guy but I applaud Tesla for making it happen. Hopefully they look at all areas that are large markets and do the same. The Bay Area seems to be getting in on this too.

One good thing is that the speed limit is 55 on 97 in Oregon and it is enforced. The trips I've done thru there (pre Tesla) I never went above 60-62.

I will stick with 101 for Mt View. There is a shopping area off Rengstorff. A Cinemark theatres off Shoreline and a Museum off Shoreline. Not much else with public parking right off 101.

A little investigating on Napa. A company called Allied Clean Fuels Terminal is going in by the airport. The American Canyon Eagle says it will have charging stations in addition to other alternative fueling stations. Might be worth investigating by someone up there.

Parking in Mt View is also at a premium. All exits off 101 are nightmares pretty much all day. Is there any quiet shopping center off 85?

Has anyone heard of anything about superchargers in Mountain View? I know Solar City HQ in San Carlos was brought up but I have heard rumblings about Mt View. Have no idea where they would put something. Maybe Google is putting some at HQ for employees? Hopefully Tesla will go wild in the Bay...

I am pretty sure Napa (or close by in the valley) will happen sometime in 2015. That's an area with high tourism that is car based...and I'm sure lots of Tesla employees who like to go wine tasting will want the convenience! Maybe Elon should buy a winery and locate SC's there...make it a nice...

As far as crates go, not all the material that goes into a supercharger comes from Tesla. Did you see anything from Schneider Electric or anything with a big square D on it? Those tend to show up first. Big gray metal boxes. If those are there the rest will follow.
