    FSD Beta 10.11

You guys! You're forgetting to do the software download dance! You need to wear a Tesla cap (and nothing else) and dance the dance for 12 hours nonstop in a public place. Then if your valve stems and wheels are set up properly, and the gods are smiling on you, you might get a download. It worked...

    FSD 10.5 Issues

My experience has been that 10.5 is a MAJOR improvement. I've been on beta only since 10.3, and the "upgrade" from 10.3 to 10.4 was very disappointing. But then I got 10.5 and WOW! It handles so many issues/places/situations that 10.3/4 would completely **** up. 10.5 gives me renewed hope that...

    Waymo

Like you, I am a fan of autonomous driving technology. I also agree that Waymo has made some impressive strides, especially given that they are limited by human software-writing capacity, which is probably close to topping out. Tesla has chosen an entirely different strategy, as you know. By...

Isn't that the purpose of the FSD Beta Tracker?

    Any Actual Crashes with FSD?

Well said! I could not agree more. The fact is that self-driving cars only need to be safer than human drivers to save lives, and that is a very low bar. Of course they will be held to a higher standard than that, which is natural, but as you say if it becomes politicized it will become a...

    Safety Score: parameter dependence

Look at the posts at the start of this thread. Unsafe following has only a tiny effect on your final score. The ones to watch are hard braking, aggressive turning, and forward collision warnings. Even if you max out unsafe following at 60%, you can still get 98 if everything else is perfect.

    Any Actual Crashes with FSD?

One thing that has positively impressed me with FSD beta 10.3.1 (my first FSD experience, and for under a week still) is how well the car protects itself. Almost as well as it avoids hitting pedestrians and bicycles. I'll be cruising along a narrow street with cars parked on both sides, and...

    AP wish changes

Agreed, on 10.3.1 (my first FSD beta), it waits a beat before starting to move, and then accelerates slowly. Me, I'm the exact opposite: the light turns, and I'm across the intersection before the car next to me has started to move. :) As for wish list, I wish it wouldn't go to the right before...

Disenrolling or un-enrolling from the Beta button and Safety Score tracking

Just to add a further data point, I had a score in the low 90s, so I did the reset thing on 10/23/2021. It took us a few days to get over 100 miles, and when we did we had a safety score of 99 (98.6 unrounded). And now, mirabile dictu, today we got the email and installed FSD beta 10.3.1 in our...

Car suddenly jumped out of lane in autopilot

Agreed, and thanks to the OP for posting this experience: it's a good word to the wise. I love AP and use it whenever I can, but we have to be careful with it. I've never had it do anything surprising like the incident that started this thread, but I've also only had my Tesla since June. The...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

What's Next? I realize no one knows, but what's next? I am sincerely happy for those of you who got the beta; you fully deserved it, and I'm only slightly green with envy. Musk tweeted they would pause for an unspecified period to see how it goes before resuming. I suspect I'm not the only one...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

Thank you for the report!! Keep 'em coming. Maybe some videos? As someone who won't get the beta for quite some time (my current score is 88, sigh), I would love to hear more from everyone, to live vicariously through y'all. Thanks again!

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

That's the spirit! Remember why we bought Teslas in the first place: because they are awesome! And fun! I'm as disappointed and anxious for the beta as anyone, but it's also tempered by the knowledge that the car I have today, sitting in my garage with the features it has right now, is still the...

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

See? That's what I mean about the equation being nonlinear, such that the average of the aggregate scores is not the aggregate of the average scores. Your individual 5-factor scores of 0, 0.4, 0.4, 1.3, 0 would give an overall score of 99.24082, rounding to 99. But in actual fact, your total...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

Hello GlmnAlyAirCar (GAAC), and also MarcG. I found this comment to be very interesting. Indeed, if we look at the individual scores as shown in MarcG's screenshot: FCW: 0.9 HB: 0.2 AT: 0.8 UFT: 2.0 FAD: 0 Plugging these into the formula gives 99.125, which ought not to round to 100...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

That's awesome! Remember the first time you used a symbolic assembler? It was amazing! Like, instead of pre-allocating (and then keeping track of) the hex memory address for every variable, you could actually give them names, and use the name every time you needed to reference the variable...

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

Totally agree, ADinM3. Tesla is pushing the envelope in order to innovate, and that can be a difficult position to be in. At the end of the day, if FSD is substantially safer than human drivers, then it's a win for humanity. But of course there will be accidents, and the first fatal one that can...

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

I totally relate to the disappointment being expressed here. I love, love, love my Tesla, exactly as it is today. I use AP frequently, but I also like to disengage it to drive the car manually because it's such a pleasure to drive, the best driving car I've ever owned in my 4+ decades of...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

I second that, good luck, all you 100-scoring people! (I have a pathetic 88, oh well). I sincerely hope you all get the FSD and that it's everything we hoped it would be. Please post some videos! I can at least live vicariously through those. You know what a classy move would be for Elon? To...

    Safety Score: parameter dependence

I agree, Che. Greater than 3 seconds, or less than 50mph, or driving in AP, or any combination thereof will have no effect on your UFT. But it's also the least impactful on your total score. You can get your UFT up to 22% and still get a perfect 100. Indeed, if all your other parameters are...

Unsafe Following 3 second or 1 second or what?

This is correct. I try to keep two seconds behind, which gives me leeway in both directions. Also, it only counts if you are going 50mph or faster. But this parameter is the least impactful to your overall score. Hard breaking and forward collision warnings (FCWs) are much more damaging. As...

    Safety Score: parameter dependence

The point you are making is correct, but your wording isn't exactly accurate: it's the time spent following within one second divided by the time between 1 and 3 seconds. That is, it's the ratio not the difference. As some have noted, the way to improve this score is to spend a lot of time...

    Sound system improvement

Interesting point, Scott. I hadn't thought of that aspect. Presumably this would be a feature that could be toggled on or off at the driver's discretion. The basic functionality wouldn't require any data sharing of course (and I realize you are not asserting otherwise); it would all be done...

    Sound system improvement

Here's something I've wanted for a long, long time, and Tesla is the company to do it! When you're on a long car trip with a partner or friend, there are times when you are actively talking, and times when the conversation hits a lull. Right? What would be awesome would be if the stereo system...

    Safety Score: parameter dependence

Excellent point that they combine multiplicatively, Dan. Absolutely true. I'm still too much of a noob to be allowed to "Like" a post but consider this reply my Like! The app shows a gray line for "Fleet Median" values of each parameter. Eyeballing them I get about: Forward Collision...

    Safety Score: parameter dependence

Hi everyone. Apologies if this has already been discussed; I'll keep this short in case it has. As of last night, my score was 80, and I broke it down into its components so I could assess the marginal contribution of each of the five factors. See the plot, below. For the less mathematically...

    Smart Summon Not Working

Today I deliberately parked in a fairly empty part of the Rockridge BART parking lot, intending to experiment with smart summon when I got back from Trader Joe's. I got back to the parking lot, put down my grocery bags, fired up the app and... "Summon will not work on public roads"! But I was in...

Anyone using Hulu? Keep getting error code

I had the same problem PLUS about a dozen different captcha screens -- and then it said my account was blocked when I finally, finally convinced it I wasn't a robot. Crazy! And the worst part was, later that evening my wife and I wanted to watch Hulu on our TV, and we had to log in there for the...

Tire Repair (reinflation) Kit - Does it Work?

On the Tesla shop site, it says the tire repair kit is currently unavailable. Anyone know what's going on? And, especially, when will they be available again? The description says the compressor has a data connection to the car which sounds awesome. Any ideas? Thanks, Michael
