Model 3 Reveal - How will TSLA do at the reveal, and next few days after?

I guess there will be some time before reservation count/interest is revealed. But how do you think the Model 3 reveal itself will affect the stock price? Personally I have a feeling we will see a significant drop at the reveal, and the days after. The expectations are through the roof, and I...

Will there be a Sport version of Model 3?

I sold my P85D because it's too big and expensive for my use. I loved the performance though, and I'm not sure I'm willing to upgrade my current $3000 car for anything, unless it offers as much fun as I had in my P85D. So I'm hoping the Model 3 will come in a performance version... What do you...

    7.1 AutoPilot Nag

The nagging makes absolutely NO sense to me. My experience, driving on very bad roads for AP, is that when I drive on straight roads with clear markings, it tends to nag more often. I usually don't get nags when driving on horrible roads, with sharp turns and no lane markings. I don't get it -...

Andy Blau at The Drive lists 7 things he hates about his Model S

Spare tires? Does ANY new cars come with a spare tire? It's like 10 years since most manufacturers got rid of the spare tire. Which is good, because it makes no sense at all to drive around with the extra weight, and waste of space. And do people constantly blow their tires? I've been driving...

Tesla may be forced to compensate owners of P85D in Norway

Tesla have now basically admitted that 700HP was misleading. They have removed any HP info from the sales page, and updated their website with actual HP performance numbers. Tesla now says P85D delivers 463 HP: Model S | Tesla Motors But of course - since the car is very fast, we are not...

"Hold Steering Wheel" - What's the purpose?

That's my impression as well. It makes no sense to nag me when the car is doing perfectly fine. But when it's clear that the car has major problems reading the road and drives worse than a drunk, there's no warnings at all.

Tesla may be forced to compensate owners of P85D in Norway

Has is the keyword there. It's clear that Tesla don't care about Norway at all anymore. Norway have by far the worst coverage of Superchargers per Tesla, at least in the bigger markets. They also have by far the longest waiting times at Service centers - around 5 month for warranty repairs and...

    Autopilot is already improving.

No it does not necessarily follow the lane marker on the left side. I have attached a picture showing the car's driving in both directions in this particular road (both would likely have ended with a crash since it wouldn't be able to correct itself at that speed when it detected the right...

    EVmote App

Could you make the trips show local date and time? It shows US time for me... Also, the page isn't really optimized for the Tesla web browser. It would be nice if the page fit perfectly in the car browser.

"Hold Steering Wheel" - What's the purpose?

Blue lines - nothing indicating that it has problems reading the road. I have .77 btw. My understanding was that unlike competitors, Tesla did NOT force us to put our hands on the wheel every x minutes. And reports from USA indicated that it wasn't the case either. Could it possibly be a...

    Autopilot is already improving.

But how can it end up in an oncoming lane unless it crosses the left line? If it sees the left line, which is the root argument here, it wouldn't risk ending up crossing it. Anyway, I also think this will be fixed soon. :)
  12. T

    Autopilot is already improving.

I disagree completely. It makes more sense to keep following a steady left lane it reads perfectly, than it is to actively make a change in direction, and drive off the road to the right because the right lane disappeared. However, if it was even slightly uncertain about the left lane, it would...

"Hold Steering Wheel" - What's the purpose?

I was under the impression that "Hold Steering Wheel" was supposed to appear when the car was having trouble reading the road. But that does not appear to be the case. Does anyone know what triggers it, and why it won't go away before we actually "hold" the steering wheel? Is it to meet...

    Firmware 7.0

So far I've only tested in heavy rain in the dark, on curvy small roads. The car drove like it was drunk and would have crashed 10+ times hadn't I taken control. This is of course normal and to be expected, but I'm very surprised that Tesla even allows activation of autosteer when the car have...

Tesla may be forced to compensate owners of P85D in Norway

Nothing childish here. FYI, websites are not static. This morning, this case was the BIG TOP article, with a smaller article about TSLA share falling next to it. Right now, there's a new article pretty high up: Google Translate BTW, Forsiden - VG is the website with most readers in Norway, by...

Tesla may be forced to compensate owners of P85D in Norway

See links Matias posted. But in short: 1. Marketed with 700hp, while it's real performance is around 500hp. 2. 0-100kmh listed using 1-foot rollout, unlike 0-100kmh listings for previous models, making P85D seem even faster than P85. 3. When marketing a car with 700HP, you would expect it to...

Tesla may be forced to compensate owners of P85D in Norway

Just a heads up - more than 20 owners have filed a formal complaint against Tesla in Norway, because they feel misled about the car's performance. This is right now the top story in the biggest newspaper in the country. The complaints are taken seriously, and In my opinion, this does not look...

" Europe and Asia are pending regulatory approval "

That i actually the most plausible explanation I've read. Tesla has never(?) set a specific date for SW releases before. They usually appeared in USA before EU, and the rollout has often been several weeks. So it is possible they previously made the final build, sent it for approval, and within...

Very big problem with Autopilot so far

But do we know how the "fixes" are applied? Does the autopilot system constantly query Tesla's servers for road information it uses, or does it require a SW update?

Tesla Autosteering Compared to Competitors. Is it Better?

I've seen plenty of concepts, and "soon to be released" demos of autosteering, but I've never seen this function available on a regular consumer car available for purchase. But I've been told it exists. How does Tesla's autosteering stack up against the competition? Is it just "old news", or...

" Europe and Asia are pending regulatory approval "

But Elon specifically said that it would be released this Thursday WORLDWIDE (not only North America). Pretty disappointing that that isn't the case... :( Also, needing "Regulatory approval" sounds like nonsense. I really doubt an "approval" is necessary for this stage of autonomous driving...

Almost 2 mo. wait time for service appointment

I'm pretty sure they don't care too much (like they don't care much about the supercharger network in Norway, considering the amount of cars). In Bergen it's been a minimum 5 month wait, for well over a year now. If they really cared, they would have opened several new SC a long time ago.

Tesla is not publishing service bulletins, keeping them "secret" (per NHSTA complaint

No, Tesla had an actual problem with the brakes. In my opinion a VERY SERIOUS issue, that should warrant a recall. I experienced non-functioning brakes twice - first time, almost rear ending a car. The second time I almost hit a woman walking with her baby - one of the scariest situations I've...

    Firmware 7.0 Beta Discussion

In my opinion, the current analog speedometer is a waste of space. I never look at the analog speedometer. Also, I barely use 30% of it anyway. At least the scale should be dynamic (changing when you pass 100 km/t for instance). A more space efficient display would be vertical bars. Still with...

Steering settings differs between P85 and P85D. No difference between comfort/sport.

I have obviously rebooted - there's been 5+ SW updates since this issue occured. So am I the only one with this issue? Does your car have autopilot HW? My car was build Feb 2014. Are you sure you know how hard sport is supposed to be? (I mean, have you tested a P85D for instance to confirm...

Steering settings differs between P85 and P85D. No difference between comfort/sport.

Does anyone know why Tesla "removed" the steering settings on P85? The buttons are still there, but after a software update a while ago (6.1?) the difference between the settings are barely noticable. In my P85D the behaviour is normal, like my P85 was at first. I thought it was a bug at first...

I'm having problem playing music from my iPhone. Firmware 6.2

Because it makes no sense? There's absolutely no reason to have the toggle. It's purely a PR thing (incredibly successful one must say).

P85 Model S upgraded from 416hp to 470hp but 0-60 mph rate still the same?

It's always been known that P85 motor was 470hp, but as far as I understood, the inverter was the limitation, so it is/was impossible to take advantage of more than 420hp. So the only difference is that a few months ago Tesla switched from listing actual HP, to listing HP the motor is capable of.

Model S Body Refresh Coming in Sept/Oct?

I don't think it's much to gain by waiting for the next "big" revision this time, since we already got 4wd and autopilot hardware. I doubt there will be any very big changes other than battery. And I think most people agree that a minor battery upgrade isn't really that important. I would buy a...

When does TACC switch to HOLD After 5 Seconds

Alert with vibration in the steering wheel ;)
  35. T

When does TACC switch to HOLD After 5 Seconds

This may be the reason, but it still doesn't make much sense... 1. People are supposed to keep their eyes on the road. 2. Instead of HOLD, it could easily be solved by making an audible alert immediately when it detects the car infront moving, and then wait 1 second before it accelerates. The...

    Firmware 6.2

I know! I find it very annoying that it keeps chiming even when I put the car in park. Makes no sense. Also another minor bug: In 6.2 the 24h clock is not showing correct. It shows as 18.00, instead of 18:00 which is the correct way for Europe (it has always been correct before 6.2).
  37. T

When does TACC switch to HOLD After 5 Seconds

It's 30 seconds on highways. I don't understand the point of the hold feature at all. It's extremely annoying - TACC would be fantastic in stop and go traffic, but the hold thing ruins everything :(

    P85 Classic faster after 6.2?

I have equipment to test 0-60 on my old P85 6.1, and again after upgrading, but it's pretty useless since it's nearly impossible to launch it while maintaining grip :( I have only had launches with full grip happen a few times, all in the summer time on brand new tarmac. Have had 2 different...

    6.2 TACC - didn't I read that CRUISE hold is 30 seconds?

What is the reason TACC is disabled after stopping for 3 seconds in the first place? Couldn't it just give an audible sound before it starts accelerating to make sure the driver is watching?

    v7 UI Overhaul

I hope they get rid of the round analog dials, it's completely useless, makes no sense on a modern car, and is a big waste of space. The power/regen dial should be replaced with a simple bar instead. The analog speedo is not needed. Speed limit/cruise control markers on the speedo is confusing...

TACC does not work very well on curvy roads :(

I know TACC is probably designed for american highways, but I expected it to also work well on most "major" roads. In my case, the main road between two of the biggest cities in Norway. Very often when the car in front of me enters a curve, the car aparantly loses track of it and disengages...

Why isn't it possible to set cruise control to follow speed limit?

You are correct. Pull and hold to set to speed limit only works if TACC is already engaged. This is very confusing and annoying :(
  43. T

Why isn't it possible to set cruise control to follow speed limit?

Yes, that's what I want... :) You mean, pull the lever towards me, and HOLD it there for a second or two? I just checked the owners manual (in My Tesla), and it's not updated with adaptive cruise! :( Last updated in December 2014. Do you have an updated version available?
  44. T

Why isn't it possible to set cruise control to follow speed limit?

If I understand correctly, there's no way to set the car to drive at the speed limit? Does anyone think this will be added soon? It kind of ruin experience for me, since my commute have a lot of changes in speed :( Also, it's very annoying that it doesn't take steering wheel position into...

    Balloon Squeal Gone in 'Ds'?

I had the ballon squeal sometimes in my P85. Then the DU was replaced, and it was even more frequent in the beginning, but then, the last months I haven't heard it at all. I suspected that a firmware updated fixed it. But yesterday I got my P85D, and I hear a slight balloon squeal sometimes...

Premium Sound - Weak Rear Sound

Uhm, are you confusing Movie with Music? Music is supposed to be played from two speakers in front of you... Unless you have passengers in the rear, the rear speakers shouldn't be needed at all... And the surround feature must be disabled, that's pretty obvious for anyone familiar with audio...

Tesla still delivers cars with moisture in reverse light housing!

I find it almost hilarious that Elon Musk have no problem figuring out how to send rockets to space, but moisture in the reverse lights is apparantly a challenge so hard that Tesla have given up finding a solution. I took delivery of a P85 exactly a year ago, and it was delivered with moisture...
