My new struts do have some play in them, they rotate slightly. This is on a July 2021 Plaid.

The current struts cannot be moved manually, see Paul’s message quoted above. Might have to do with the geometry of the struts and hood.

Yes, that is how it is supposed to be, to allow air to flow through. You are not missing a piece. It’s just that you can only see the gap from a certain angle.

Most likely an error when they produced your car. There was one other report of this happening a while back. I think the guy did a quick 0-60 run and determined it was indeed a LR with a Plaid badge. Don’t trust anything Tesla representatives tell you, they are usually clueless.

I would not recommend getting a caliper cover, they look cheap and anyone can tell they are fake. Wraps wouldn’t work either due to the high temp of the brakes. You should just look into getting them painted. It is easy to do yourself, or just have a shop do them if you’re uncomfortable.
