I believe what you describe is only true if "Remain Connected in Drive" is checked (its in your car's wifi settings). If it is unchecked your car will only connect to wifi (no matter how strong it is) when your car is shifted into "Park".

I was reffering to Mike728's comment "It sometimes gets confused when the car switches between wifi and cellular". I was pointing out that the car's WiFi is never connected while the car is moving unless "Remain Connected in Drive" is checked.

It makes sense that all myQ problems are caused by intermittently bad cellular Internet connections. The folks that have reliable myQ operation probably have consistantly strong cellular Internet. No, I didn't experience the problem you had pulling away but I probably would have eventually.

Since my iPhone's myQ works and my car's myQ is delayed, the problem could well be constant retries from the car that eventually get through. I'm wondering what test I could do to prove the delay is caused by the car's poor Internet connection.

Your theory makes sense if a crash caused the restart, but I would expect an orderly restart would first save all settings to to the eMMC. However, if you're correct, the rule should be to wait xx minutes after making any setting changes before rebooting.
