After driving fine for 6 months, the error came back. We have replaced the speed sensor and wire. It seems the PRND issue occurs after the car idle for few days. The error is attached. Any thoughts ?

Took the car to Tony. Nothing wrong with drive unit. It seems the problem was related to loose ground as in addition to PRND error, there are many other errors related to break light etc. Tony cleaned the connection and asked me to drive around and see the error code will disappear. I will keep...

I am kinda surprised when the SC told me the drive unit. I told them that the DU has been replaced in 2017 due to noise/buzzing issue. Do we as customer has to pay $8K every 4 years ? I finally get on hold with Tony EvFixMe and made apt with him. I will let you know the outcome.

The car stopped while driving (in the stop sign) and PRND turned to red. It re-started by itself. It occurred twice within 3 weeks period

I don’t think I have the gut to DIY. The drive unit has been replaced once in 2017 around 90k under warranty. The car still drives fine but I am debating to spend $$$ versus just selling the car. I called Tony at EVFixMe but he has not responded yet.

----- Just want to give you update. I ended up with new LTE and Tegra board. The initial estimate was to replace the LTE board for $275 but as you stated, they cannot load the firmware and have to change the Tegra board. Total $750 and they discounted to $650. I hope this help for everyone.

Thanks. They still don't know the root cause or how to solve it. The car is 2013 so I expect this. Would new Tegra card replacement will fix this ? or I have to get new MCU.

Not sure if this is the same problem or not but after recent upgrade, I cannot connect to 3G cellular. I still can connect to Wifi. Other functions seem fine. Any thoughts ?

UPDATE: Took the car to tesla service and they hard reset TPMS.

I filled it up to 45-46 PSI. I thought the reason it didn’t clear because it is too high. I drove more than 20 miles and the car slept overnight already. Let me try to fill them back to 45

Took the car to SC for tire rotation. They cannot replicate the issue rather give me 5.8.8 firmware that may fix the bug. It is not a big deal for me. Also they know offering valet service to and from your house which is nice.
