Curious why you would expect to take the racks on and off. There is only a 2% loss in mileage with them on. I wouldn't even think about taking them off after putting them on. I was so nervous that I booked an appointment to have the service guys look to make sure I had installed them correctly.

Its a "Two Crows" 10ft 23" wide. I was super surprised as well. However the old car was a Volvo Wagon so the racks were fairly spread apart

I recently upgraded to a Tesla M3 with the roofracks specifically so I could carry my 10' board on top. Unfortunately because the racks are kinda close together I have about 30 stress cracks on my board from the wind pushing up on the board.
