I'm head to Detroit from Atlanta on Wednesday. I REALLY hope the chargers are ready on Tuesday. I'm taking the MS regardless. With Superchargers in Chattanooga and hopefully Dayton, my trip will be substantially shorter.

I drove by the Decatur store tonight. I expected the lot to be closed, but the gate was open. The 4 HPWCs out front were powered up and available for charging. It doesn't look like they have moved in yet though. There are no cars on the lot, none in the show room, and none in service bays...

I stopped by the Decatur Service Center today. I talked to the General Contractor. The stalls are in place. You can see that from the pictures already posted. The GC also indicated that the electrical infrastructure is in place. When the Supercharger becomes available is up to Tesla.

You are correct. Edison didn't use the word at that time. Edison demonstrated publicly and even created video of AC power killing rabbits and horses to demonstrate the danger of using AC power. Edison wanted New York to adopt the DC power system that he advocated rather than the AC power...

Tesla finally agrees that DC is a good move for Edison. Remember Thomas Edison advocated for DC power while Nikola Tesla was for AC power for mass distribution. Edison developed the term "electrocution" to exaggerate the danger of AC power.

Meanwhile, Europe has been nearly completely populated with Superchargers. With twice the many "Coming Soon" and nearly 90 in the "2014-2015" tab. Maybe the U.S. isn't moving because most of the effort is going the Europe right now.

It's kinda weird but Knoxville,TN is the only I-75 SC that's still on the 2015 map. I can't imagine that Tesla will install Chattanooga, Lexington, & Dayton and not install Knoxville in 2014. But even if that happens, I'll be happy to have the quantity of chargers that they propose for 2014...

In other installations, the installers were able to complete all other construction while they waited for the transformer to be installed. Why did these guys stop dead cold?
