    Supercharger - St George, UT

Thanks to everyone for the information on the progress. It is great to see that it is available. As someone who has yet to take advantage of a super charger, what is it really like? The marketing claim was half charge in 20 minutes. Does that mean if you go in half charged, you are full at...

Model S Locking System Just Doesn't Work As Well as the Rest of the Car

Nope, she carries that in her pocket. The problem is access to the fob. Buried in her purse. The button on the prius was on the handle of the car. - - - Updated - - - No, but we just got our MS at the very end of October. I find it hard to believe that it is dead in a few months...

Model S Locking System Just Doesn't Work As Well as the Rest of the Car

So, we came from a Prius and their locking system was so easy to use that the locking system in the Model S just doesn't cut it. I have one software tweak idea that might help, but I'm wondering if anyone else has any ideas. Here are the various failed scenarios: 1) My wife puts her purse on...

    Supercharger - St George, UT

All this info on St. George is great, thanks for sharing. Living in Park City, we haven't ventured out onto the roads yet for the long trip and tried the whole supercharger network. Been planning a run down to LV, but was waiting for the last leg so it is a straight shot. Any news on when a...

MS autolocked car with key fob in purse in the car in the back seat

Hi, So, this morning, my wife and I were screwing around with a funky garage door. My key fob was in my pocket and hers was in her purse in the backseat. The car autolocked. Now, this seems like a really bad idea. Does the autolocking software not look for a key inside of the car? Or could...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Installing the back seat mats were tricky. You have to work and wedge them underneath the front seat rails to get them to fit. They will eventually go under there, but it takes some time and care to bend them underneath the metal. With it snowing the last couple of days here in Park City...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Well gang, it finally happened. Not quite two months since our initial test drive, our S85 arrived by truck yesterday evening. Everyone loves photos, so I took a bunch and uploaded them here: Flickr: rrkessler1's Photostream The car arrived with 19 miles on it, and plastic covering the seats...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Congrats @bareyb. We just heard that the truck is supposed to arrive some time tomorrow. No exact time yet. I keep hearing the lyrics on the title song from Annie in my head: "Tomorrow, tomorrow, I'll love ya tomorrow...."

Delivery from a Truck without a local Service Center

I just talked to the DS yesterday and he said that instead of going first to Las Vegas and then up here, they are now shipping straight from the factory to here. It should arrive Friday or Saturday (will know today). They are building a service center in Salt Lake, but won't be open until some...

Delivery from a Truck without a local Service Center

As my day quickly approaches (my DS said Oct 23 last week, but I haven't heard a time, so I suspect that things are still a little fluid), I was wondering how the delivery works when you don't have a service center within 400 miles? I assume that some random trucker (as in not a Tesla employee)...

    Porsche 911 owner -- drove P85+ yesterday -- deposit placed -- MANY QUESTIONS :-)

I am so thankful that I didn't succumb to @texex91's unabashed pushing everyone to the P+. I'm in production and happy with the s85. Whew. You are amazingly seductive, but I have survived...

    Exterior color

Just wanted to relate our experience. We visited the Seattle sales room and did the test drive, etc. We sat down looking at the colors and my wife thought the brown was the most interesting. We grabbed the color board and took it outside. That was when we were convinced it was the right...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Our panel is on the inside of the house, through the wall of the the front of our garage and needed to run the wire to the back side where the MS will be parked. Probably 20 feet or so. First quote was 800 (using conduit). Second quote was 700, but they guy said he likes to quote high. Ended...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I finally got my first email from DS. MS is going into production "soon" and will be at the Las Vegas SC Oct 29, to be given to a 3rd party for delivery to our house, soon after that. The waiting continues.

To New Utah Model S Owners - Things I Learned Along the Way

I just got an email today with a delivery date to the Las Vegas SC with plans to truck it up here (although I think that the delivery date is incorrect). Are the taxes that we pay, the sales tax? Such as in Park City it is 6.35%? So, we would pay that on the total purchase price of the car...

    Finally placed my order tonight

@ACD, giz, and doc. Thanks to all of you. I didn't get to drive an S85 vs P85, they just had the P when we were in Seattle (no sales office in Salt Lake). I have had that small twinge about the S vs P debate, but I've resisted. I agree that the whole performance thing is interesting, but in...

    Finally placed my order tonight

Still no contact from DS. I confirmed the same day as you. They must be selling a lot of cars (saw a sig from someone a day later and about 50 higher in vin).

    Waiting is hard!

I got email from a financial contact that I've been using for financing and she said that ours was going into production shortly. A DS will contact us about 2 weeks outside of delivery, which means very shortly. Look for an email from .... So, I continue to wait (but the Nema 14-50 is...

    Waiting is hard!

Oh, not so good. We don't have an SC here. They are in the "announced an SC" phase, but it doesn't exist. - - - Updated - - - Oh man, do I hear you. I can't tell you how many times that I've thought P85 or keep the S85.

I'm a 9/9 confirm as well. What is SC? Who do I contact? Thanks

Insurance for Model S is surprisingly low (for me at least)

I'm replacing a 2010 Prius with the S85 and my rates will go down. We use an independent agent who got us rates with Encompass (which is related to Allstate in some convoluted way). B.

Utah No Service Center (yet) How Does it Work?

Thanks Park2670, BryanW, and Denarius. After reading stuff, it seems reasonable to just go ahead and get the service plan. I'm not sure about the whole ranger thing or not. Certainly while we wait for the SC to be built it will be necessary, although I hope that I won't need service between...

Utah No Service Center (yet) How Does it Work?

As I wait for "in production" to appear (and a DS to contact us), I've been thinking about service and warranty and stuff. Since we don't have a service center in Salt Lake yet, I assume that any service is taken care of by rangers. Fine. If the service is something that is covered under...

Confirmation deadline in 4 days, I'm ready to pull the trigger

So, I was wondering what happens next? I got an email notification with the purchase agreement. Do I just sit and wait for some more emails? I could email the sales person that showed gave us the test drive in Seattle to see what he might know? Thanks.

Confirmation deadline in 4 days, I'm ready to pull the trigger

Although this car costs roughly 3 times the price of our first house, the button has been pushed!!!! Thanks everyone for all of the help and the encouraging words. Oct delivery is what it says (nothing more detailed than that).

Confirmation deadline in 4 days, I'm ready to pull the trigger

Working on the electrician. True, but my spouse has taken a bit of convincing, so due diligence was required (just a little as she thinks the car is really special and we've always loved to have something "different"). Thanks.

Current configuration: S85, Brown, Tan Leather, Obeche Wood, Pano Roof, Tech, Parking, Fog, Subzero, Paint Armor Also have done our due diligence: - Read a ton of posts here (thank you everyone) - Pre-Approval on loan so we get the guarantee (although I doubt that we will use it). - Found out...

Living in Utah - What Options for the Model S

Thanks BrianW and Denarius. I did read about 22 pages of posts about problems with the pano roof and it creaking, but as near as I can tell from the thread that has been corrected. As for snow tires. Yes, we put snows on both of our cars (one is a Prius and the other an SUV) [the downside of...

Living in Utah - What Options for the Model S

Hi Fellow Utahans, We have put in an order for a Model S (although not confirmed yet as we are still considering the set of options). We live in Park City and commute daily down to Salt Lake (around 70 miles round trip). Right now we are looking at the regular 85 in Brown (we've had so many...
