bumping this thread up. anyone in SD have a good experience with the wheel guy or different co?
I need 1 uberturbine repaired. happy to do group buy if there's more folks in SD needed repair...
closing the loop here - hope these pics help folks see LR with 21" outcome potential. 275/35/21 all around on 10.5" rims.
not the happiest with the space in the wheel well on this size but idk many other options i had on 10.5s all around besides 275/40/21 which failed.
ride quality ~10 mi...
Yep too tall. Was hitting the knuckle. Install last night was after dark. We’re switching back this am so maybe with light I can get a pic. Will update if possible to grab a pic
Thank you both for your insights
update - @thesmokingman thank you for calling out the knuckle. i moved my appointment up (tires arrived early) and went in tonight for swap.
the 275/40/21 looks great but that's it lol. knuckle rubbed against the tires on both sides (front) - one more side than the other b/c according to tech...
for people wondering its a little over $100 difference each - each 275/40 is running me a little under 300 and if it works (no rub) i dont mind going a little chunkier / tighter and save 200+ compared to 275/35/21. plus its all for research :)
@thesmokingman - agree with all your points. i dont mind the idea of 9.5 all around since i rarely have anyone / thing in the back -- except too late to go back to the guy who has my 9.5s lol
better pics @HB-M3-MY
also a stock with geminis happened to be across the street with 255/45R19 - unsure if that's helpful for comparison but its below as well
@HansT @BillyG2022MYP @Charles415
i found your reports / feedback helpful so i thought id tag you guys here if you have any wisdom to share.
i optimistically ordered 4 x 275/40/21 for installation next week on my LR with 10.5" ubers all around (stock. no spacers, not lowered). i see that most...
these are at my parents house in the east bay, norcal. they came off a MYP at about 1k miles so basically new. JUST tires nothing else, no tpms no wheels.
im in san diego and was planning to use these two but ended up buying a new set down here and saving a drive up / shipping.
these are...
interesting that LR owner with 265/40/21 got rubbing, esp if they were on 9.5 in the front. i looked up 265/ vs order i placed last night and am worried about fitment now (below) --- unless the 265 rested "fatter" on the 9.5 wheel and my 275/40 will stretch out on the 10.5 wheel?? im so new to...
Can’t compare mileage difference bc I never did staggered. Traded really soon after I got the set. Here’s a pic of my current setup 275/35/21 on 10.5s all around
hi @zpaul
do you know if the no rubbing 275/40/21 holds if i have 21x10.5 ubers in the front? i just ordered a set of 4 of michelins for my squared 10.5x21 ubers on MY LR.... fingers crossed lol
@SpicyPaneer - currently on 275/35/21 all around.
friend gave me 2 michelin spares he had that are 275 / 35/ 21 as well. thinking of throwing those on and getting 2x 275/40/21 - that size is on sale for 300/each vs ~430 each for 275/35/21.
do folks recommend i put the 35 on the front and 40...
no issues whatsoever - only did it for the ability to rotate tires but weirdly am at 4.5-5/32 all around so kind of even wear, haven't rotated and likely won't before replacing.
first time going down the non-stock / OEM route with my car (usually just stick to wheels / tire size that came on car, never venture out) so very green on this subject.
i have:
- 21 MY LR
- have a squared uberturbine 21” 10.5” width set all around
- running pirellis but HATE them like most do...
im open to shipping these now.
in which case, I'll keep the back tires on; you get 4 tires and wheels would be 1900 picked up in east bay, norcal.
if you're looking for individuals as spares or backup @ 500 each. curbed 9.5" front @ 450.
can bring these to LA or SD. ideally more than 1 though.
should add - willing to sell together for 1300. rear tires can be grabbed (OEM michelin) from a contact i found here that supplies tesla directly (300 each tire). only thing you'd need is TPMS...
available for sale are:
1. BOTH fronts (9.5" wheel) + michelin tires
2. back 10.5" wheels ONLY
NO TPMS included. ~1000 miles on wheels + tires. no damage to any except ONE front got curbed a little.
asking the following $:
Front set: together 800 with tires, individually 450/each with...
hi all,
as title states, looking to square up. ideally you are local in Los Angeles, and we can meet at a shop like firestone (20/wheel for mount + balance) to do the swap.
- indifferent on keeping fronts or rears
- my set has the pirellis ~7/8 / 32 on each, 3500 miles
- no damage to rims or...
anyone like me have more than 1 tesla at two different locations and curious if "home" on 'charge stats' > settings can be multiple locations?
said another way, i have 3 cars at 2 locations. at one "home" with two cars id like to provision a rate plan unique to that location to get accurate...
I used this video as a guide. Followed it as laid out:
@sgong6 can report on how it fared - should be there tomorrow. In my defense ;) i used a task rabbit to do this. took about 4 hours + $50 in material (guy in vid is a pro, not his first rodeo lol)
