I agree with montgom626. Start with 120v outlets, clearly marked, and see how they are used. A Model S can still get 20 miles added to the range on 120v during a normal workday, and it will work reasonably well for the other cars.

I think for 2016 they are probably referring to active cruise control combined with lane keeping, giving you hands free freeway driving.

I believe Tesla is doing the smart thing and is trying to minimize the number of built cars that are in transit on 9/30/13. The practical result is, for the next two weeks, the closer you are to the factory the sooner you will get your car. My initial delivery date in October was pushed to 9/30.

Gas cars can be refilled in 10 minutes anywhere, so it is less of an issue. Also, a listed range of 800 miles is at a speed that will get you run over in California.

It's only a 800 mile range if you drive 60 mph. Drive 80 mph and it's a lot less. It's possible now to drive from LA to SF in a Tesla. In 2027 it will not only be possible, it will be easy. No need to pay attention to the range, no stopping at SuperCharger stations, and you can have lunch...

Thanks for the pointer. I just downloaded it and looked it over. Once my car arrives I will build a new version of teslams that exits immediately if the car is not attached to a charger. I will use this new version when playing with scheduled tasks using the Windows Task Scheduler.

Sounds like creep mode should be in the driver profile.

I agree that after 600 miles it becomes somewhat academic, although very aggressive driving can reduce the range to only 2/3 of the stated range. A 900 mile range car might only go 600 miles if driven like a maniac.
