    MG Cyberster concept EV roadster

I’ve bitten. Ordered GT dual motor red with red/ black interior today - delivery hopefully August but more likely September - was so tempted by the Inca yellow. The M3P was my 2nd Tesla M3 in a row and I needed a change. If the new M3P had been a little more different I’d have probably have...

    Andersen EV charger support

Just checked, and mine’s back online again now - don’t trust it to charge off-peak tonight so will use the schedule in the car too

    Andersen EV charger support

Me too - was hoping there’d be others. According to the App the signal strength to my router is good so I assume it’s a problem on Anderson’s end. Loads of disconnects over the last 48hrs but always seemed to reconnect straight away. However, it’s been off for a couple of hours now. Need a full...

    Last Decision: Color

My first M3 was black - huge mistake. Quality of Tesla paint is awful and the black showed every single little mark. I’m very careful, snow foam, 2 bucket and hardly any contact when washing. Within a few months the paint was marked all over the place. Plus, it’s a nightmare to keep clean. My...

    UK Highland Orders

Got a similar message but about a 0% original or highland deposit - replied yes and have heard nothing since - however, like @phil4 am waiting for the Performance to be announced to replace my current M3P. No concrete details yet though in any markets about the P

    So… Highland is out…

I’m not sure that’s the case as you’re still able to order the performance (for the same dates) a d it’s not even been officially announced yet. Plus, when you select things like different wheels on the LR it’s the ones that have been available for some time showing on the configurator and the...

    Intelligent Octopus Question

I was in a similar position - had been on Octopus Go for 2 years and really liked the simplicity and knowing exactly what was what and when was when - and really didn’t want to hand over control to Octopus and their App. However on renewal this year, the Go tariff was 10p off peak for 4 hours as...

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

I paid the full £64k for mine (red exterior and white interior (which I’ve seen as low as £56k)) and don’t regret it a bit - mainly because at the point I changed I’d paid £49k for my M3LR and got £50.4k part-ex, 18 months and 8k miles later). To remain competitive, and with the Highland...

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

On the M3 forum it’s gone very quiet on the new Highland refresh (who’d have though it, Tesla delays) and if the Cybertruck (Worldwide) and MS refresh (UK) are anything to go by, Tesla work on their own timescale - usually years behind promises (both hardware and software). I got an M3P in...

Rushden Lakes now charge for charge!

All Pod Points at Tescos did the same about 12-18 months ago - went from being free for a few hours while you use Tescos (or just sit there watching Netflix) to charging per kWh. It wasn’t the charging though that I went for - more the wider spaces that our local Tesco had for the PodPoints! Now...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Changed from GO to IO yesterday - all seems to be fine except the smart meter - which says our unit cost is 7.5p all the time. It used to work with GO, changed from 7.5p to 35p and back again but for some reason this isn’t happening with IO. Does anyone know if this is normal just because the...

    Andersen EV charger support

Me too - tried everything. Glad it seems to be a widespread problem and not my A2 failing. Car charged as expected last night in my 4hr GO slot and no warnings / disconnects this morning so assume it was their server issue and it’s been fixed

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Does anyone know how often Octopus change their IO prices? Just before the end of July I was offered IO at a certain rate as my GO was due to end mid August. I didn’t go for it at that point as it was no different tariff wise from my GO. Since then it has come down about 4p pkwh but as I can...

    Insurance troubles May 2023

When I sell up I doubt I’ll get a Tesla to replace my M3P if the insurance isn’t more reasonable. While I was searching for this year’s policy I tried an EV6 GT and BMW i4 and both were considerably cheaper to insure despite having similar list prices.

    Insurance troubles May 2023

Same here! It’s scandalous. £393 last year with DL, renewal over £800, reduced to £770 over the phone but wouldn’t / couldn’t go any lower. Adrian Flux was over £1600 and cheapest on comparisons was Admiral at £750. There were only a few companies quoting in the hundreds on the comparison sites...

[UK] Insurance prices - is it Tesla or my claim causing the high price?

Insurance is really messed up. I went from a M3LR to an M3P and my insurance went down by £16, then I put a private plate on a few months later - expecting that DL would honour the fact they claim they don’t charge an admin fee and when I got to the confirmation page it said £6.45. When I looked...

[UK] Insurance prices - is it Tesla or my claim causing the high price?

Have you tried Direct Line - I used all the comparison sites in June ‘22 and was getting £700+, (including my LV renewal with whom I had a multi at policy at £450 the previous year). DL had always been expensive for me previously but for some reason this year they were only £440, so percentage...

Stone chip (1 month in) Model Y

Official touchup paint and then a Langka Paint Repair Kit - works really well if you take your time. The advantage being you can have a number of attempts to get it right - although just seen its £45 - £60 which without the paint is ridiculous - it was about £25 when I got my kit (a number of...

[UK] Insurance prices - is it Tesla or my claim causing the high price?

Your Tesla is a group 50, out of 50, so about as high of a risk as the insurance companies reckon there is - plus, your claim certainly isn't going to help - regardless of 'protected NC' if you had it!. Apart from moving to a difference postcode (probably not the best idea just for cheaper car...

    Stupid question about taxation

Also, when they announce when exactly in 2025 we all have to pay road tax (January? March with new regs? April with financial year?) we can all re-tax our cars just before this date to delay the inevitable -
  24. Chris CG

    Stupid question about taxation

No, if you tax it on the 1st Feb, the first month you're paying for is February, so your 12 months will be Feb to Jan inclusive, therefore due for renewal on 31/1 so it's taxed for 1st Feb again.

But if you wrap the end of your finger in the Tesla cleaning cloth it still registers and doesn’t leave any marks - or at least it doesn’t on mine with the Zagg screen protector on it 😃

    Condensation in rear lights

I had the lights of my ‘21 M3LR done after about 6 months - warranty job and then no issues for the following 12 months before I sold it. Ranger said they were a new version so wouldn’t fog up! I now call complete bullshit on that as I assume my new Sept 22 M3P has the ‘new version’ and they’re...

    Tesla Charging Question

You can only set a start time via the app (it’s a PITA and stupid IMHO), so if you need it to stop by a particular time and can’t set it on the charger you need to work out how much charge you’ll get in the 4hrs slot (assuming you’re on Octopus GO) and set the charge limit in the car to that. I...

Share experience selling used car on Motorway and Webuyanycar

Used both (once) and both have their positives and negatives IMHO. On neither occasion did I need a particularly quick sale, just wanted to avoid the potential hassle of Autotrader and the worry of being scammed by some unscrupulous git and have some reassurance of a well known company. I sold...

    Andersen EV charger support

My Anderson lost connection some time last night (although the app is still showing the table of usage so may not be connected to the administration)! The app does still allow me to slide between enabled and disabled which is a bit odd as I assume it'd need connection to do this? - Although I...

    Energy price increase

I’ve had no response to any emails so I’ll give them a polite call tomorrow. Like you said, bet there are plenty of others who don’t notice Octopuses clearly ‘unintentional mistake’ and just put it down to increased use of gas as the days get colder.

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

And why I’m staying with Go rather than IO. As long as you don’t need more than the 4hrs per night (and I probably don’t use the 4hrs in a week due to my ridiculously short commute) then it seems far more hassle and insecurity / checking it’s doing what it’s meant to, than it’s worth IMHO.

    Energy price increase

I was on a fixed rate until July ‘23 for my gas through Octopus - I noticed last week they’d changed it up to the variable rate at 10.3p - numerous emails and no response from them. To say I’m not happy would be an understatement.

I kerbed a wheel and bought a new alloy and had Kwik Fit change the tyre over from the old to new wheel. Q3 collections, new owners tales and experiences

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but personally I don’t think that’s in the repairable area of the tyre. It’s only the middle 3/4 of the tread that’s suitable for repair. You might find someone who’ll do it for you but that’s too near the tyre wall I reckon for your bigger named franchises to...

Tidal by a long way - assuming you download the tracks to the car. Streaming, there’s not much in it, but as you can download tracks in ‘Hi-Fi’ quality on Tidal they sound much cleaner. Similar here - VIN is 615xxx. Spoke to Tesla yesterday who confirmed reg etc and the fact that 28th at Trafford was the earliest I could collect. I too assume it’s on Sunrise - they’ll be unloading that many that it’ll take nearly 2 weeks to sort them all out and transport them around the...

Anyone regretted getting a Performance M3?

Ah - fair enough! I wouldn’t say the roads here in the UK are that great, but it sounds like yours are even worse. The only time I’ve ever had a problem here is with that the bleedin’ runflats on a BMW. Think I had to replace 3 in the space of 2 years thanks to bulges in the walls of the tyre!
