    New 21s More Durable?

Anyone have any idea if the new 21" arachnids on the refreshed S will be any more durable than the old turbines? Love the look, but not going through constantly replacing them again.

Blog Report: Model Y to Be Built in Fremont, Model S Refresh Coming in September

Drove a new loaner the other day....like my 2015 better. Sounds like I'll be liking it even more with the proposed changes.....

19” Model S Cyclone Rims wTPMS

I have a set of 4 19” OEM Cyclone Rims that I’m looking to part with. They do have some curb rash in a few areas, but I’m told this can be easily repaired. Comes with Rims only (no tires) and TPMS. I live 7 miles south of Boston. Make me an offer

    XPel Damage - now what?

Here you go....before and after. Like new! Original application of Xpel and replacement done by Q Car Care in Burlington MA.

    XPel Damage - now what?

Not a close up...was trying to catch my proximity to the loading door. Security says that they cannot see where anyone hit me...but I will go review the tapes myself tomorrow Should I just peel the excess/hanging xpel and wipe the white paint and see how it heels?

    XPel Damage - now what?

So the day finally came. I am now more than happy that I wrapped the entire front of my car in Xpel. I parked in a normal parking spot in downtown Boston near a loading dock and two hours later came out to my front left bumper being scraped to sh*t. Looks like the Xpel protected the actual...

Easy Entry - In need of a simple adjustment

Easy Entry is a great addition. I mean, my Jeep has it and for years my Tesla did not. There is one thing that needs to be updated, however. When exiting, the steering wheel should go up FIRST and THEN in. As it is now, the steering wheel goes in first. I have long legs and the easy...

    Charging at Waterville Valley??

And of course now the feedback I am getting from the resort President is that "it's a bit more complicated than he originally thought" and "he doesn't have a timeline at this point". I am curious to find out if the complications are on his end or Tesla's.

    Charging at Waterville Valley??

Waterville was approved for the partner program. Things are progressing nicely. Ask and you shall receive I guess!

    Charging at Waterville Valley??

Quick update.....Tim Smith (President at Waterville Valley) has been super responsive and has taken action! He said he contacted Tesla about their charging partner program and filled out all of the paperwork, but hasn't heard boo from them since. He'd hoping it just takes a bit for them to...

    Charging at Waterville Valley??

North75 - nail on the head. No chance I am driving an extra hour (30 minutes each way) not including charge time. I have emailed and called a bunch of different people at WV asking about their interest to install chargers. They even have a section on their website about their focus on being...

    Charging at Waterville Valley??

I have a 70D, live 10 miles south of Boston and would love to drive my Model S to Waterville this season (every weekend starting Thanksgiving), but not sure it's really doable with the cold weather. Any knowledge of charging stations in the immediate Waterville Valley Resort area? Can't find...

Boston to Mont Tremblant - anyone done it?

Made it to Tremblant no issues...other than that we had to take the "scenic route" through Lincoln and Magog as West Lebanon was out of service. Headed back Monday - a day early due to the snow storm. Any idea of West Leb is up?

    Autopilot....meh

Save your nipick for another forum. I think it's fairly safe to assume we all know the difference. I don't take the time to proofread my posts....
  19. E

    Autopilot....meh

Yep...that stuff is standard - safety features. So, if you don't get AP...you don't lose much at all other than the ability to have the car drive itself. But, the hardware is there and a new owner could always activate it.
  20. E

    Autopilot....meh

Yep, and most do. I am just trying to figure out what I am missing and/or if there are others that could take it or leave it. I am guessing not :)
  21. E

    Autopilot....meh

I can understand that. Like I said, it's very cool that Tesla is at the forefront of this movement. I guess it's just that....something to talk about!
  22. E

    Autopilot....meh

Very true... too much hype, though.
  23. E

    Autopilot....meh

it's pretty boring just sitting there in the conditions you describe. I commute about 10 miles to work on Boston's southeast expressway....I'm bored as it is driving, what else am I going to do?
  24. E

    Autopilot....meh

Maybe it's because I drive in MA that I don't see the increased safety aspect. Too many crazies out there on the road in Boston. I don't trust them and that the car will react in time. Maybe that's on me...but still, the cars are too fun to relinquish control. I don't get where you're...
  25. E

    Autopilot....meh

First, I promise I am not a troll. I have owned two Model S since 2013. Love the company and my car. I am curious though....am I the only one out there that could take or leave the autopilot feature? I get that it's a technological feat...but I have it and I rarely if ever use it. I'd...

Boston to Mont Tremblant - anyone done it?

I am parking in the lot under the Homewood Suites march 10-14....I plan to go right to the fairmont when we arrive to see if that one charger is available. If not, I'll see if I can find a wall outlet in the garage at homewood suites to nestle up to.... Fingers crossed. The cold snap coming...

Boston to Mont Tremblant - anyone done it?

I think I will see if I can get from Montreal to the ski resort and back on one charge. I don't have a CHAdeMO adapter and don't ever really need one. If I have to, I will ping the nice person that lives close by that has his charger up on Plugshare! Thanks for all the words of wisdom!

Boston to Mont Tremblant - anyone done it?

We are staying in a condo that is in the Hilton Homewood Suites. Parking will be in the garage underneath (no charging). I am hoping that if I get a full charge (or close to it) in Montreal, that I can just get back there without having to charge at all. Is that charger at the fairmont that...

Boston to Mont Tremblant - anyone done it?

Making this trip next week. 70D. Got it all mapped out. My only concern is having enough juice to get back to Montreal. I know that my car will literally sit there in the parking garage for 5 days, so I really just need enough to get there and back. If the Electric Circuit charger is taken...

Boston to Mont Tremblant - anyone done it?

Thanks for all the input! The one destination charger is at a hotel for patrons only (we've rented a condo). Otherwise the Plugshare app shows people just plugging into a regular wall outlet. We do have underground parking for the 4-5 days we are there and if I can find an outlet, then...

    Xpel on Cape Cod

Yeah, and having someone follow you to drive back and then doing the same thing a few days later is fun too.... Thanks for the help. Save it.

    Xpel on Cape Cod

Thanks. I have a great guy at Quintessential Car Care in Burlington MA and know plenty of others off cape. None of these are near cape cod. An hour in the Northeast is far...especially when you're retired and the only way to get there is to leave a vacation destination over one of two bridges...

    Xpel on Cape Cod

My father will likely be pulling the trigger on an X - an obsidian one. Next step is some paint protection. Love my guys at Q car care in Burlington, but I know my father will want to find some place near his house on the Cape. Anyone know of a place to go?

Are the X 22s as prone to damage as S 21s?

Not enough data gathered I take it?
  36. E

Are the X 22s as prone to damage as S 21s?

I test drove an X this weekend with the 22s. It looks to me that there is a little more rubber/sidewall (and therefore, protection) around the 22s on the X compared to that of the 21s on the S. I had very bad experiences with the 21s on my old S up here in New England. The 21s make the S...

    Windshield Back Order

They wouldn't replace mine remotely either. They said they do not do "high end cars" remotely. The safelite team associated with USAA was great...the local store in Quincy MA - not so much. They were impossible to get on the phone. They seem to have done a good job, but when I opened the...

    Windshield Back Order

Just to give credit where it's due....the Tesla team at Dedham and Watertown worked together to get a windshield expedited and delivered within two days of realizing there was a back order. Still think a loaner should have been issued without question, but a nice recovery indeed.
  39. E

    Windshield Back Order

That's cool. I mean if we're going to start lumping Tesla in with the rest of the old guard - then fine. They've always just been better than that....
  40. E

    Windshield Back Order

They can't provide the part. It's pretty simple. How the hell is my insurance company supposed to get the windshield replaced if Tesla can't provide the part. And to the dude with the broken CRV windshield. Good on you. I'd never do that. I guess I am just less risk averse? It's not the...

    Windshield Back Order

I asked very nicely and in fact let the service rep know that we will wait to see when the windshield could actually get here and then discuss the loaner issue later. I haven't had one negatively charged discussion or argument with any of the service centers. They're all good people and I...

    Windshield Back Order

But Tesla cannot provide the part...so we cannot drive the car. That is Tesla's problem. Not my insurance companies problem. Agree to disagree.
  44. E

    Windshield Back Order

I fail to see the rationale as to why this would be the proper response. While the windshield is insured by USAA, the car is not safely operable because the insured windshield cannot be replaced by TESLA because their part is backordered. I'm beyond being blinded by fanboyism at this point.
  45. E

    Windshield Back Order

.....and they are "expiditing" a windshield. Which is a funny way of saying that they are going to make sure they actually get a windshield. Something I am sure they could have done a week ago. They still claim they will not provide a loaner. My bride is driving the car to the Dedham...

    Windshield Back Order

We have a good sized crack in our windshield that is continuing grow. This happened back on June 6th and we immediately called our insurance company (USAA) who has a relationship with safelite. - We were scheduled for the replacement on Saturday June 11th. - Safelite called the morning of...

    Bring back the "old" Blue

The blues are different enough that I think they could offer both. I don't think they need to swap one for the other, but I'd bet they'd sell more of the old blue than the new if swapped out. The old blue was definitely a b*tch to keep clean, but applying the xpel does wonders.
  48. E

    Bring back the "old" Blue

That's what was cool about the old blue. It wasn't too "in your face" blue. It looked sharp, classy and yes...almost black. No comparison really.....IMO.
