2021 Model Y Tire Options for better ride & range

The last time I looked, in the 19 inch size at least, Michelin CrossClimate 2's didn't offer the right size/weight rating for our cars...yet. I read somewhere that they were coming out with new sizes soon, so maybe 255/45R19 104's will be included in that batch.

All Season Tire Preferences - MICHELIN PILOT SPORT ALL SEASON VS VREDESTEIN QUATRAC PRO VS EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 PLUS

Bucky, what sized rim are you running? I checked just a few days ago, and for the 19 inch, the tires were back-ordered for 2-3 months.

What is the one feature you would like to see added to the Model Y?

Hitch rack mode, which would deactivate the rear proximity sensors (but not auto steer). Unfortunately, using trailer mode does this, but also then deactivates auto steer.

    Boombox for Model Y

When was your model Y manufactured? Most cars assembled prior to September 2020 were shipped without the speaker that boombox uses. Your service center might be able to install the speaker behind the right front wheel well liner for around $100 and then activate boombox on your car. Your post...

    Orlando - tint/PPF recommendations

I had my MY's windows tinted at Florida Custom Tinting in Oviedo last year, and am pleased with the results. If you are wanting to have the entire windshield tinted (not just a visor strip), be advised that not all tinting shops will do this on a Tesla, due to concerns that fluids involved in...

Any insights into outdoor car cover for 2021 Model Y

Check out the Evannex one. Basically it seems to be the same as the official Tesla cover, but without the logos, and $100 cheaper.

Touring Cape Breton Island, in Nova Scotia

Pay attention to the charging speed of the various chargers when planning your route. Not all chargers (even Tesla chargers) are as powerful as Superchargers, capable of recharging your car in 30 minutes or so. For example, most Tesla "destination chargers", such as those found at certain...

Driving from Orlando to Key West

You won't see 300+ mile range driving at highway speeds. Keeping up with traffic on interstates/turnpike/Miami area highways you'll be lucky to reach 200 miles before you need to recharge.

How does Tesla sense and alert vehicles in their blind spots?

Suma Performance makes replacement mirrors with a wider field of view. I installed these on my Y, and nearby cars are either in the side mirror, or far enough forward that I can see them in my peripheral vision. Highly recommend these, as Tesla's electronic blind spot monitoring is weak at...

App lost ability to sync to car

Some things to try, in descending order: 1. On your phone, turn off Bluetooth, and then turn it back on. 2. Do a full shutdown and restart on your phone. 3. Reboot the car (by holding in both steering wheel thumbwheels for about 15 seconds)
