    Front bumper damaged-insurance question

Finally after 3 months in the body shop got the Tesla back. It cost over $10500, a total rip off in my opinion for a less than 5MPH bumper damage! The body shop was slow in getting parts from Tesla and it took for ever!

    Front bumper damaged-insurance question

My car has been in the body shop for about a month. Finally I got an estimate for over 10K! Surprising for a 5MPH collision with only a small twist in the bumper!

Warning before you buy a tesla model S

My car is also at a body shop that specializes in high end cars, including Tesla. They told me that I shouldn't drive the car despite minimal damage to the front bumper. They said it would affect battery and AC, if I drive the car (even to my home from the body shop!).

    Front bumper damaged-insurance question

What is body shop escalation? Apparently there are many Tesla approved body shops in Orlando.

Trying to find how to get hold of the police officer-He wrote his name and ID # in the crash site report. Besides that, there is nothing.

    Front bumper damaged-insurance question

Thank you both. My insurance is involved and is happy to get my car fixed. However, due to the nature and the way the accident happened I feel that the other party/insurance must get the car fixed. Interestingly, the police officer who came was more interested in the Tesla than the accident!

    Front bumper damaged-insurance question

Recently a gentleman at the Orlando Airport curbside pickup location , cut across in front of me to pickup his passengers (there are 4 lanes and the right most two lanes are the passenger pickup lanes-I was on the 3rd and he was on the 4th, farthest lane). His right rear bumper ( F-10 pickup)...

Could this app make Teslas more fun & reduce motion sickness?

    1. A hissing sound of radiator steam escaping 2. Sound of exhaust pipe dragging along the street. Could be accompanied by fake sparks. 3. Rattling sound of many different kinds 4. Cylinder misfiring 5. A big puff of smoke when accelerating 6. Saw dust in the gearbox sound.

    Window glass won't open/close

Yesterday, suddenly my driver side window won't open or close. There was the mechanical noise of a "motor" working but glass wouldn't slide up or down. Taking for service tomorrow. My Model S85 is four and a half years old. Anyone else had similar problems?

    2013 Tesla Model S85

Thanks. I have decided not to sell. In case anyone wants to know why I decided against selling, ...couldn't find another car of comparable technological alue that I could buy and be comfortable after "investing" close to 90K on this. Second, just yesterday my driver side window wouldn't open or...

    2013 Tesla Model S85

Theft Of Components Off My Model S @ Cleveland Service Center

Recently I came across sites that offered “rent” of Tesla for short term (day or two). Could a racket be going on with cars that were brought back for service? The OP scares me of what else could be going on in other dealerships and service stations across the country with other vehicles

Tesla's Autopilot needs to be shut down and NHTSA needs to do their due diligence

My 2013 Model S does not have Auto Pilot ; my question is just out of curiosity. I would assume Model S as well as other cars with auto pilot would depend on multiple cameras strategically positioned and aligned. Considering the condition of roads, particularly Freeze/thaw states, it is likely...

    Range versus comfort

I have S85 I started with 267 on my life range. Drove at 65MPH with 75 degrees temp when the outside temp was 91 degrees F. Reached Jacksonville with 102 "miles" left. Drove in and around the down to 67 miles after charging 40 miles in a Nissan Dealer. Drove to some Hotel near by for changing...

    Range versus comfort

True Tesl Milege I drove from Orlando to Jacksonville with a couple of small 12 mile errands. 1. Miles disappear faster if you have the AC on and keep up with the posted high way speed of 70 MPH. 2. Even world class hotels are inadequately reared for electric vehicles. Double tree had three...

Will an 8 year old Model S be almost worthless?

I like my Model S85; however, I am worried. I paid 92K in 2013 Aug and after the tax break, let us say I paid 84K. I drove 16,000 miles in 3 years and is in great condition. It appears that it is now worth less than 55K. Did I save any by switching to electric? If there is such a hype about...

My S60 was stolen last night. I recovered it this morning thanks to the app

You are indeed lucky. You should have called the police and have the police get the car for you. I a similar situation (not involving an automobile), the guy was angry and threatened to shoot me for "tracking" him. He saw it as an invassion of privacy!!!

    Fatal autopilot crash, NHTSA investigating...

Is 65MPH (assuming that was the posted speed limit) enough for the Tesla to drive through the tracter truck (lifting it off the ground), continuing some distance and breaking a pole? I seriously doubt whether he was going at 65, didn't have time to stop, and had to plough through the truck...

    Fatal autopilot crash, NHTSA investigating...

    1. Tractor trailers should be fitted with transponders that identify their positions to others. 2. Tracter trailers should be the same size as passenger cars-at least the height. 3. They all should have glowing neon paint to be seen in the dark. 4. Tractor trailers should have car spotters/cow...

Vendor Now a Great Cup Holder for the S and X designed by an S owner.

I am buying today! What a relief! This was one of my nagging complaints. Could you come up with a good front windshield shade that could be "locked" in place? Could you come up with a thin heat conducting spray shield to protect the hot metal door handles?

Risk-homeostasis. In other words, if you see driving as not risky, you don't have to wear seatbelt. However, this theory applies to only individuals and their perception of risk. It does not anticipate or take into account the risk imposed by others' carelessness, including driving skills or the...

This is a situation wherein Brain-computer interface is needed. The compuer recognizes an object (Higher on the ground) and rejects it. Perhaps AP (Not just Tesla) needs more engineering. Radar/sonar/GPS positioning (movement) of nearby objects, IR cameras for nights, Depth of perception enhancers might be needed. More importantly, computer technology should be enhanced to process the information in micro-nano seconds. I have...

yes with both Fabs 1. In order to place the key in the cup holder, you should be able to get in. I have a problem, unless I carry a data phone and cellular data is activated. That's why a bluetooth connectivity could be better, particularly when you are just outside the car and are trying to...

Body Shop Repair Costs--for me, a deal killer?

I have two marble sized dents, barely perceptible. I decided not to do anything about it. Dents and scratches are inevitable.
