Finally after 3 months in the body shop got the Tesla back. It cost over $10500, a total rip off in my opinion for a less than 5MPH bumper damage! The body shop was slow in getting parts from Tesla and it took for ever!

My car has been in the body shop for about a month. Finally I got an estimate for over 10K! Surprising for a 5MPH collision with only a small twist in the bumper!

My car is also at a body shop that specializes in high end cars, including Tesla. They told me that I shouldn't drive the car despite minimal damage to the front bumper. They said it would affect battery and AC, if I drive the car (even to my home from the body shop!).

What is body shop escalation? Apparently there are many Tesla approved body shops in Orlando.

Trying to find how to get hold of the police officer-He wrote his name and ID # in the crash site report. Besides that, there is nothing.

Thank you both. My insurance is involved and is happy to get my car fixed. However, due to the nature and the way the accident happened I feel that the other party/insurance must get the car fixed. Interestingly, the police officer who came was more interested in the Tesla than the accident!
