    Software update

Nah, I'm still on 2020.48.12.1. Now I'm getting messages warning me that my Netflix, Hulu, etc. isn't going to work soon due to changes in those services. Nice try, Tesla. My driving GUI is far more important to me than the entertainment system. I'll keep waiting until an update comes out...

Window Tint That Comes to You? - Space Coast

Does anybody know of any window tint companies that will come to you in the Northern end of Brevard (Titusville).

    New S: Yoke or Nope?

You are assuming that a yoke spins around like a round steering wheel. Actual implementation might be such that the yoke doesn't turn more than 90 degrees.

    New driving screen battery icon

Don’t even need a battery icon. Just display the percent value in text. The icon isn’t really necessary, other than to say, “this % value is for the battery.”

Not a fan of recent software changes

So glad I never installed that terrible update. The little reminder that pops up on the screen is worth the small annoyance given the number of complaints on here, which I completely agree with from what I have seen.

    A yoke or a joke?

Some may be turned away. Some might now be attracted to it because it adds to the cool factor. After a while, people will see that it works and come back.

    About that "yoke" steering wheel

If the yoke doesn't turn more than 90 degrees (if even that), why do you need a wheel? Are you not considering the possibility of proportional steering control based on speed driven by software?

    A yoke or a joke?

No different than ALL of the speculation going on. Just pointing out that the posts that think you'll use this yoke the same way you use a typical steering wheel (like rotate it 360 degrees) are not thinking properly about it, or about Tesla. Decades ago, perhaps, I would have agreed, but in...

    A yoke or a joke?

The Cybertruck that's been driving around and in promotional videos is a prototype. That means not everything you see in it or on it, or how it behaves is necessarily the same as what the production units will have.

    A yoke or a joke?

Because using a yoke as a wheel is dumb. Tesla is very software driven. They'd only go this route if there was something going on behind the scenes with the software. In short... it's logical.

    A yoke or a joke?

Stop thinking about the yoke like a steering wheel. It’s not going to spin around 360 like a steering wheel. The amount of control it provides to the front wheels will be inversely proportional to speed. You won’t have to spin your wheel around to park. Heck, my model 3 is currently in my...

    About that "yoke" steering wheel

That roadster is a prototype. Obviously there was more engineering to occur between it and the production version. Easier to slap a fancy racing yoke on there than perfect the software before the unveil.

I wish the Model 3 had the new Model S steering wheel

I have yet to see somebody copy/paste actual text from actual legislature that says its not legal. Just a bunch of vague references. Even that legal article (HG.org) that is referenced by the Shift.com article cites no actual specific legislature, code, whatever. Just general statements...

I wish the Model 3 had the new Model S steering wheel

Doubtful this yoke will rotate more than 90 degrees in either direction (if even that), so why can't you just keep your hands on the wheel and hit the buttons with your thumb?

I wish the Model 3 had the new Model S steering wheel

Another article that gets the concept all wrong, just like TheDrive's article. It's not going to rotate like a standard steering wheel does. Just like airplane yokes don't rotate all the way around like a steering wheel. Throw that old thinking out. You're not going hand over hand with this...

    New 2021 Model S Unveiled January 27, 2021

That can be said of many things tried 30+ years ago. Technology evolves. Ideas that didn't work out the first time can work out later with better technology.

    New 2021 Model S Unveiled January 27, 2021

I think people are looking at this all wrong. It's not very likely that you're going to spin this steering device very far past 90 degrees in either direction. Likely, the amount that the actual wheels steer left or right relative to the rotation of the yoke will change based on speed via...

I wish the Model 3 had the new Model S steering wheel

My only critique of the steering control is that I think it would look cooler if they eliminated the bottom portion of it as well (just like the top). Personally, I think this is better than a traditional wheel. I always found it funny that the wheel has to spin around and around to get the...

    New 2021 Model S Unveiled January 27, 2021

I think that's more of a concern on a traditional steering wheel, where your controls can actually be upside down and on opposite sides from where they normally are. You won't have that issue with this new steering device.

    2020 SR+ - my 1 year review

So glad I have never owned a car with a "premium" sound system. Can't miss what you've never known. Honestly, I think the SR+ audio sounds great, but then, I've never been much of an audiophile and this is my first expensive car.

My Tesla goes for a run every day for six miles while I sit in my office all day

SR+ owner here. No range anxiety at all. Live in a warm, flat area, 20 miles from work. Also still own an ICE. That extra $9k was better spent on TSLA than Tesla. Ohhhh yeahhhhh $$$$$$ :P
