Charged Sun. 27 May, late afternoon. 75D with 80 miles remaining. Tried 3 different chargers, spaced well apart. Charge rate varied from 94kw to...52kw. Only one other car charging. Definitely something not working right at this new location.

Well, grandchillins, your grandpappy remembers back in the ol' days when folks used to celebrate the openin' of new superchargers as somethin' special. Thet wuz when there waren't no chargin' directly from the roads, o' course. Now, you remember roads, don'tcha?

Given the steady rise of Tesla and considering the economic demographics of the owners, I wouldn't be surprised if the operators of places like BFP and the Paradise Valley Mall are suddenly seeing the commercial advantage to having sc's on site and thus are either competing for, or contributing...

Terrific news. I live in Prescott (there are at least seven model S and two model X owners here already) and while the sc at Cordes makes r/t to Phoenix doable enough, this new one will allow worry-free travel to more distant suburbs such as Chandler and Gilbert...not to mention south via I-10...

Nothing but giant wind generators around Sweetwater, Abilene, etc. Real renewable energy for the SC's. The owner of those Flying J's is one smart dude. I look forward to eating there while charging, and spending a few extra bucks in the gift shop besides.

Almost a year ago, when charging options were fewer, I needed to do an overnight in Phoenix, AZ. Found a hotel near the hospital I had to visit that had a pair of level 2 chargers. When I thanked the desk clerk for their presence, she explained, "The owner has two Volts."

Quite so. People often forget that buying a Tesla is about more than just the car: its the whole package, from the showroom experience to customizing online to the sc network. The Germans haven't even begun to address these attributes.

Funny. I bet a poll of Tesla owners in Florida, much as they would like to have sc's all along I-10 and I-8, would show that when traveling from FL to CA or AZ or TX, would clearly indicate that when traveling that route, they prefer to fly.

Spoke with APS today. Transformer is not yet set and wires are not pulled. Trenching (by subcontractor, not APS) is proceeding. The hope is to have the sc energized and on-line in 2-3 weeks.

Called around. APS can't install the transformer, pull the wires, and turn on the power until the trenching and such is done. This work needs to be performed by someone (not APS) engaged by Tesla. Approximation (only a guess) as to when all this might happen ranges from mid-August to late...
