    Supercharger- New River AZ

I can just about make the r/t Prescott/north Scottsdale in my 75D on a full charge, but I usually stop in Cordes on the way home for a safety boost and a snack (doesn't anybody just take driving breaks anymore?). But doing Prescott/Gilbert on a single charge is impossible for me. New River...

Tesla nearing 50k miles mark, what preventative maintenance should I have Tesla do?

Costco is great for tires. Nobody on commission. Free nitrogen fills. Frequent sales. Great customer service (can only vouch for local, of course). Had two sets of the Goodyears on my model S. Ran nice, didn't last. Replaced with all-season Michelin pilot sport A/S 3+. Includes free...

New tire time - anything quieter than the Michelin Primacy for 19"s?

I had the original Goodyears that came with the car (2016 75D). Quiet, but worn out at 13,000 miles. Replaced with second set of same (because I got a deal). Worn out after another 20,000 miles. So, going to go with Michelins this time. Just trying to decide between the MXM4 and the A/S 3+...

Petition to demand "camera on top, media player on bottom" be retained in UI

Imagine that you're an owner in, say, Nebraska, and Nav is forced on you all the time. Nothing but a straight line top to bottom or side to side, all day long, for dozens of miles, taking up your otherwise valuable screen space. The horror.... Of course, if you're a 30-year old UI designer...

Unpopular Opinion: I love the bottom-half UI in V9

"Does BMW let you rearrange where your buttons and displays are?" No. That's one reason why I've been buying Teslas instead of BMW's. Let's see what happens when another manufacturer offers the customizability that Tesla seems intent on taking away. As for the grocery store analogy, offering...

Email from Tesla describing Version 9.

Camera always on top or always on bottom: it would appear that most S and X owners prefer one or the other. The key is the ability to keep the camera on at all times while cycling as desired through the other apps (nav, browser, music, etc.). V9 now removes this functionality. In doing so, it...

Supercharger - Phoenix, AZ - Agua Fria Freeway

Charged Sun. 27 May, late afternoon. 75D with 80 miles remaining. Tried 3 different chargers, spaced well apart. Charge rate varied from 94kw to...52kw. Only one other car charging. Definitely something not working right at this new location.

Delightful. Would love to see one at the Grand Canyon. Or...some smart hotel owner in Tusayan is going to make an offer to Tesla.

Supercharger - Tucson, AZ - E. Skyline Drive (La Encantada Mall)

Bit of a puzzling choice for a Tucson site. Nice that it's at a mall, but it's way out of the way for anyone going or coming on the interstate. The main access roads (Ina, etc.) aren't exactly wide and spacious. I mean, the more sc's the merrier, but Azred is right. I wonder why Tesla chose...

Side Note: The wonderful folks at Pit Stop Auto Detailing are located only a few blocks from the new site: 15015 N 74th St, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. They've done Opti-Coat on both my Teslas. They also offer (obviously) detailing and a fine hand-wash. They do a lot of the local Lambos, Ferraris...

Well, grandchillins, your grandpappy remembers back in the ol' days when folks used to celebrate the openin' of new superchargers as somethin' special. Thet wuz when there waren't no chargin' directly from the roads, o' course. Now, you remember roads, don'tcha?

Supercharger - Phoenix, AZ - Agua Fria Freeway

Given the steady rise of Tesla and considering the economic demographics of the owners, I wouldn't be surprised if the operators of places like BFP and the Paradise Valley Mall are suddenly seeing the commercial advantage to having sc's on site and thus are either competing for, or contributing...

Supercharger - Phoenix, AZ - Agua Fria Freeway

Terrific news. I live in Prescott (there are at least seven model S and two model X owners here already) and while the sc at Cordes makes r/t to Phoenix doable enough, this new one will allow worry-free travel to more distant suburbs such as Chandler and Gilbert...not to mention south via I-10...

    Sweetwater and Cisco Superchargers

My wife is from Moran, about 15 miles north of Cisco. The town itself has some basic shopping and dining options. There is also Conrad Hilton's first hotel, which contains a small museum, two rooms maintained as they were when the hotel opened in 1919, and offices. Access to the truck stop...

    Firmware 7.0 - For Classic Model S

Not downloading this until at the very least they put the battery/remaining range icon back in the center of the speedometer. As far as odometer usability is concerned, they can hide that anywhere they want and I'll check it once a month.

    Firmware 7.0 - For Classic Model S

So you have to look to your right and compare two different readouts as opposed to just glancing down to get the same information, but in more complicated form? I am so with HankLloydRight (and plenty of other folks on this one). How often do you check your total odometer reading? The swap is...

    Tesla Supercharger network

Almost a year ago, when charging options were fewer, I needed to do an overnight in Phoenix, AZ. Found a hotel near the hospital I had to visit that had a pair of level 2 chargers. When I thanked the desk clerk for their presence, she explained, "The owner has two Volts."

We Hear: Slew of German EVs Will Battle Tesla Model S

Quite so. People often forget that buying a Tesla is about more than just the car: its the whole package, from the showroom experience to customizing online to the sc network. The Germans haven't even begun to address these attributes.

Funny. I bet a poll of Tesla owners in Florida, much as they would like to have sc's all along I-10 and I-8, would show that when traveling from FL to CA or AZ or TX, would clearly indicate that when traveling that route, they prefer to fly.

Called around. APS can't install the transformer, pull the wires, and turn on the power until the trenching and such is done. This work needs to be performed by someone (not APS) engaged by Tesla. Approximation (only a guess) as to when all this might happen ranges from mid-August to late...
