At it's worst, a heat pump will be the same efficiency as a resistive heater. At more optimal conditions (>14F) it is much more efficient.

If the update hadn't coincided with when I ordered, I'd still have ordered. It's all "nice to have" but if they'd offered me a non updated one sooner, I'd have taken it.

Mine will be a 2021, but won't have the new headlights, but I don't care. The heat pump and center console changes are the updates I care about. Not going to stress whether I have some slightly improved headlight, until US laws allow the new technology headlights, what it has now is plenty good.

Hard to take it seriously when defects noted around the trunk are a result of the changes for the 2021 models. The gasket is supposed to be like that, the strut is bigger because it's the powered one...

They're at least able to see actual locations of the cars once you have a VIN.

Ah, no incentives in WA, so I applied for financing way back in the beginning of November.

Financing is good for 60 days, no need to wait at this point. Depending on your state, you can possibly just upload your current insurance card.

Agreed, engine braking in an ICE car will vary based on the gear you're in, this isn't that different

Pin to drive should prevent someone from stealing your car, but I'm not sure about unlocking automatically. My car delivers on friday though so any knowledge I have is from this forum, reading the manual (because what else is there to do while waiting) and youtube.

So when you go to your page that shows the Vin, under completed tasks and show the details, in the line items there isn't $75 documentation fee and $1125 destination fee?

Hope what you were told about the blue/black batch being produced now is true, since that's my config and I'd called about a inventory blue/black that my SA said wasn't built yet.

My date range updated today from Dec 9-23 to Dec 8 (today, lol) - Dec 22. My SA still thinks the 15th and I'll probably get a Vin in the next few days. We'll see!

Received an update text "2-5 weeks" which matches my original range of Dec 13-31.

I emailed the 3D Maxpider manufacturer about the new frunk style, got an email back saying their mat is in design and will be available in Jan/Feb.

My delivery range just updated, mashing F5 must have helped! Ordered 10/31, original range 12/13-12/31, now showing 11/29-12/13! Blue LR 18" black interior, no FSD, delivery to Seattle.

Model Y manual actually has the same statement about using seat heat over the cabin heater. I thought of that after I posted... Kind of surprising, but it'll still be more efficient than the old heater if you do use the vents

Coming from an ICE, and being in Seattle, I'm not worried about the heat pump noise. Won't be louder than the rain or road noise. I'm curious to see if tesla's guidance about using seat heaters over cabin heat for efficiency change for models with the heat pump.

My SA told me specifically to wait until Nov 1 to do it so we guarantee the 60 days doesn't run out and I have to reapply.
